Muon Resistive Plate Chambers (RPC) wurden aufgeheizt (30°C)

• Normalerweise konstante Temperatur von etwa 20°C

Loesung

• Mehrere Moeglichkeiten wurden getestet (cooling fluid temperature decrease, voltage tuning, additional cooling, thermal isolation...)

• Entscheidung fuer thermische Isolierung

Abkuehlung von 32.2°C auf 23.4°C

Loesung

• Material: elektrisch isolierender, luftdichter, feuerfester, 400 µm dicker, mit Silikon impregnierterer Glassfaserstoff (30 CHF/m2)

• Zusaetzlicher Vorteil: Schutz der Patch Panels vor Schmutz u.ae.

• Insgesamt ca. 100 m2 Stoff, der fuer 10 Patch Panels mit 1500m Faden zusammengenaeht wurde …
