St. Paulus-Dom: Sein Grundstein wurde im Jahr
1225 gelegt. Die Astronomische Uhr und die
Kleinode der Domkammer sind Schätze von
europäischem Rang.
Prinzipalmarkt: Hier schlägt das Herz der alten
Hansestadt - unter den Bogengängen der impo-
santen Giebelhäuser wird der Einkaufsbummel
zum besonders charmanten Erlebnis.

St. Lamberti: Am Turm der alten Markt-
kirche hängen die drei Käfi ge, in denen
1536 die Leichen der Wiedertäufer als
Abschreckung zur Schau gestellt wurden.
Aasee: Nur wenige Schritte von der Altstadt
entfernt, lockt der See mit seiner erfrischenden
Mischung von Kultur, Freizeit und Natur auf
malerischen Wegen ins Grüne.

Stadtmuseum: Von der Stadtgründung bis
zum Cafe der 1950er Jahre - auf zwei Eta-
gen, in 33 Kabinetten und mit zahlreichen
Modellen wird Münsters Geschichte an-
schaulich.
Schloss: Errichtet vom Barockbaumeister J.C.
Schlaun als fürstbischöfl iche Residenz, heute Sitz
einer der größten deutschen Universitäten, der West-
fälischen Wilhelms-Universität. Zum Schlosspark
gehört der über 200 Jahre alte Botanische Garten.
Erbdrostenhof: Münsters schönster Adels-
hof, erbaut ebenfalls von Johann Conrad
Schlaun, ist reizvoller Blickfang und immer
wieder Schauplatz spannender kultureller
Events.
Clemenskirche: Das dritte „Barockjuwel“ mit seinem
prachtvollen Innenraum wurde originalgetreu restauriert.
Sein Garten ist eine Insel der Ruhe mitten im Stadttrubel.

Historic Town Hall: Münster’s landmark, where
the Peace of Westphalia was announced in 1648.
The portraits of the delegates to the peace
negotiations can be seen in the Hall of Peace,
which is preserved in its original form.
St. Paul’s Cathedral: Its foundation stone was laid
in 1225. The Astronomical Clock and the pieces in
the Cathedral chamber are treasures of European
rank.
Prinzipalmarkt: This is where the heart of the old
Hanse city beats. Under the arcades of the impres-
sive gabled houses, a shopping trip takes
on a special charm all of its own.
St. Lambert’s Church: From the tower of
the old market church hang the three cages
in which the bodies of Anabaptists were
displayed in 1536 as a deterrent to others.
City Museum: From the city’s foundation
to a café from the 1950s – Münster’s
history goes on show on two fl oors, in 33
display cabinets and in numerous models.
Residence: Built by Baroque architect J.C. Schlaun
as a residence for a prince-bishop, it now houses the
central administration of one of the largest universities
in Germany, the Westfälische-Wilhelms-Universität.
The Botanical Garden, over 200 years old, belongs to
the Residence Park.
Aasee: Just a short walk from the Old Town,
the lake attracts visitors to its green
surroundings along picturesque paths,
with its refreshing mixture of culture,
leisure and nature.
Erbdrostenhof: Münster’s fi nest aristocratic
town house, also built by Johann Conrad
Schlaun, is not only lovely to look at but also
regularly houses exciting cultural events.
St Clement’s Church: This third Baroque jewel with its
magnificent interior was restored true to its original
design. Its garden is an oasis of quiet in the midst of
the city bustle.
