The article is the first attempt in the history of the Ossetian literary studies to interpret Kh.Tsomaev’s unique endeavor. The author tries to trace the ideological and artistic interests of the writer, his world views as a result of interaction of the poet’s artistic conscience with reality, based on the poem «War». Unlike typical reader’s attempts to learn the writer’s artistic and creative nature, the author of the article focuses on the form and the contents of the poem in their unity.
