Kognitive Fähigkeiten

Der Erwerb kognitiver Fähigkeiten ist ein wichtiger Bestandteil frühkindlicher Ent-wicklung. Mit Hilfe dieser Denkstrukturen kann ein Kind planen, bevor es handelt, und Vermutungen über das Ergebnis anstellen. Beim Matador-bauen werden automatisch und spielerisch kognitive Fähigkeiten wie z.B.: lösungsorientiertes Denken, Schlussfolgerungsfähigkeit und Planungskompetenz geschult.

Cognitive skills • Acquiring cognitive skills is a crucial part of early childhood development. With the help of such thin-king structures a child can plan before it acts and come up with assumptions about the result. During the Matador-building experience, cognitive skills are automati-cally and playfully trained, such as: soluti-on-oriented thinking; ability to reason and planning skills.

Nach dem Bauen wird gespielt! Durch die unendlich vielen Baumöglichkeiten gibt es endlos viele Matador- Spielwelten. Joy of playing • When the building is finis-hed the playing can begin! Thanks to the endless building combinations there are uncountable Matador game worlds. Play-ing freely is an important ‘training’ for children in order to process experiences and impressions and to become acquain-ted with and assume different roles. What is more, based on repetitions, children will grow increasingly secure and develop a routine when interacting with others.

Technical understanding • Children want to understand the world! The way Matador models work and function can be observed and understood – techno-logy and physics thus literally become ‘grasp’-able. The building instructions which are designed in pictures enable the children to build on their own. How to use the tools is highlighted in colours in the instructions and explained in pictures.

Kinder haben einen angeborenen For- schungs- und Entdeckungsdrang, sie lernen vorwiegend selbsttätig indem sie sich mit der realen Welt auseinander-setzen. Creativity • Children are born with a drive to explore and discover, they mainly learn on their own by interacting with the real world. They need to touch objects, take them apart, and slowly become familiar with them. The best way for children to store practical learning experiences is for them to grasp them with as many senses as possible. Three-dimensional comprehensionMatador building blocks train the ability to imagine things in three dimensions. Spatial perception and conception in combination with respective motor skills and good reflexes are essential for phy-sical activities such as ball games and are closely linked with one’s body perception and co-ordination.

Beim Bauen und Spielen mit Matador wird insbesondere die Feinmotorik gefördert. Feinmotorik ist wichtig für die kindliche Entwicklung, denn nur damit kann man schreiben und zeichnen lernen, aber auch beim selbstständig anziehen oder alleine essen ist Feinmotorik unerlässlich.

With our sustainable production in Aust-ria, we produce using resources efficiently in Austria. We do not employ any materi-als that are damaging to either health or the environment and we heat our factory with the wood waste from our own pro-duction. Consistent quality due to own producti-on in Austria • Matador has existed since 1903 and is without a doubt the most legendary Austrian toy and the most famous construction set of all times. This long history in itself proves the unique quality of Matador. A multi-stage quality control continuously guarantees the high quality of the Matador construction sets.

Holz aus nachhaltiger Waldwirtschaft

Das Holz für die Matador Produktion wird ausschließlich aus nachhaltig bewirtschaf-teten, heimischen Wäldern bezogen. Eine nachhaltige Waldwirtschaft und Holz-nutzung beeinflusst das Klima positiv und senkt langfristig den Co2 Ausstoß. Das Zertifikat „PEFC“ der „HolzCert Austria“ bestätigt eine nachhaltige Waldbewirt-schaftung. Die HolzCert Austria ist eine Zertifizierungsstelle, die als unabhängige Institution die Einhaltung der strengen Kriterien laufend überprüft.

Wood from sustainable forestry • The wood used throughout the Matador pro-duction exclusively stems from sustain-ably managed, local forests. Sustainable forestry and use of wood influences the climate positively and lowers CO2 emissions in the long-term. The ‘PEFC’ certificate from ‘HolzCert Austria’ confirms a sustainable forestry. HolzCert Austria is an independent certification authority which verifies that strict criteria are adhered to.

Umweltfreundliche Produktion

Für die Matador Produktion verwenden wir aus-schließlich nachhaltig bewirtschaftetes, heimi-sches Rotbuchenholz. Ein ausgeklü gel tes Verfah-ren reduziert die Menge der Holzabfälle, die bei der Produktion entsteht, auf ein Minimum. Die Produktion selbst wird ausschließlich durch diese eigenen Abfälle aus Holz ökologisch beheizt. Bei unseren Lieferanten für Zusatzteile (z.B. Verpa-ckungen) setzen wir auf regionale Unternehmen und damit auf möglichst kurze Transportwege. Zusätzlich ist die Verpackung Bestandteil des Produktes und wird daher nicht entsorgt.

Environmentally-friendly production • We exclusively use sustainably managed local copper beech wood throughout the Matador production. A sophisticated process reduces the amount of wood waste which is created during production to a minimum. The production itself is exclusively heated ecologically using this wood waste. When it comes to suppliers of additional parts (for ex-ample packaging), we rely on regional companies and thus ensure short delivery routes. What is more, the packaging is a part of the product and therefore does not need to be disposed of.

Der Großteil unserer Bausteine ist natur-belassen, doch auch bei den eingefärbten Teilen können Sie unbesorgt sein. Es besteht keine Gefahr, wenn ein Kind diese in den Mund steckt. Unsere Produkte sind nachweislich absolut schadstofffrei und werden regelmäßig von unabhängigen Prüflaboren kontrolliert und getestet.

Non-toxic colours • The bulk of our buil-ding blocks is untreated, but you can also be unconcerned regarding our coloured parts. There is no danger should a child put these in its mouth. Our products are abso-lutely, verifiably non-toxic and are regularly tested by independent monitoring labs.

Precision production to a hundredth of a millimetre • Matador building blocks must be cut and drilled precisely to a hundredth of a millimetre to be able to ensure an optimal accuracy of fit. Emplo-ying a living material such as wood means a huge challenge which we are able to master thanks to our experienced staff using special-purpose machines.

MATADOR Architect MATADOR Architect ist ein 100%iges Naturprodukt. Es besteht ausschließlich aus unbehandeltem Rotbuchen-holz - ohne giftige Lacke

oder anderen schädlichen Stoffen. Die Bausteine wurden speziell für Kinder ab 12 Monaten entwickelt. Sie lassen sich ohne Kraftaufwand zusammenfügen und wieder trennen. Dadurch ermöglichen sie schon den Kleinsten dreidimensionales Bauen. Dies fördert die Motorik, die Kreativität und das räumliche Vorstellungsvermögen. Die Verbindungselemente dieses paten-tierten Baukastensystems sind so gestal-tet, dass die einzelnen Bausteine beim übereinander stapeln nicht fix, sondern nur lose verbun¬den werden. Die Noppen und Vertiefungen dienen als Stapelhilfen und ermöglichen dem Kind schon nach wenigen Versuchen das Herstellen von Bauwerken. Klare Formen und einfache Handhabung führen rasch zu wichtigen und motivierenden Erfolgserlebnissen. Beim Umwerfen des Bauwerkes zerfällt dieses und die Kreativität wird neuerlich herausgefordert. MATADOR Architect is a 100% natural product. It is made exclusively from untreated copper beech wood – without toxic varnish or other harmful materials. The building blocks were specifically de-veloped for children 12 months and older. They can be connected and disassembled effortlessly. In this way, three-dimensi-onal building becomes possible even for the youngest. This promotes motor skills, creativity and spatial perception. The connecting elements of this patented construction set are designed so that the individual building blocks are not fixed, but rather loosely connected when stacked on top of each other. The nobs and slots serve to simplify stacking and help children create structures in just a few tries. Clear shapes and easy use lead to a quick and important sense of achievement. Upon toppling the struc-ture, it will fall apart, and creativity will be required anew. Matador Architect is a pedagogic first toy and its various shapes encourage children to build and play.

The Maker wooden construction sets by Matador promote motor and cognitive development of our young children aged 3 years and older. Thanks to the own Matador hammer, building blocks and pins are connected so that children playfully develop craftsmanship skills.Using the special Matador pliers, the structures can always be taken apart and then re-assembled to form a new structure. Every Maker and Explorer construction set comes with the respective tools. Using the fitting hammer, children build great structures, operative models, and imaginative worlds. With the innovative pliers made from organic wooden injection moulding the structu-res can easily be disassembled again.The visually designed building manuals give a first spark of inspiration. Apart from exact step-by-step instructions they also indicate detailed information on the difficulty level, number of parts needed, illustrated list of parts, and an approximate building time. The manual includes pictures of how to use the hammer and the pliers.Pedagogically devised, the difficulty levels of the model increase in logical steps so that the skills are continuously developed. If children have not had any experience with tools, it makes sense for them to have some help during their first tries. After the first sense of achievement our children turn into true Matador master builders!
