"Vision without execution is just hallucination" by Henry Ford. Our vision of Pathcon 2017 was well executed by the contribution & hard work of APP members. "If every one is moving forward together, than success takes care of itself" by Henry Ford was amply proved by the grand success of event.

Pathcon and Lab Expo 2017 was held at Hotel Lalit on 16 – 17 December which was a showcase of scientific bonanza with participation of more than 600 delegates (including more than 75 paper presentations), more than 80 faculty members of national and international repute and more than 30 industry partners.

Sixteenth December had a scientific feast of 16 workshops on upcoming and relevant fields of pathology and laboratory medicine.

Different workshops which were held were:

Workshop 1 on "Cytology in Lymphoid Lesions" conducted by Dr. (Brig) Reena Bharadwaj (Professor & Head , Dept. of Pathology, AFMC, Pune), Dr. (Gp capt.) P. Kinra (Prof. Dept. of Pathology, AFMC, Pune) &

Workshop 5 on "Molecular Diagnostics in Hematology" conducted by Dr. Brahmadathan Kootallur (Ex-Professor.& HOD Dept of Microbiology CMC, Vellore) & Dr. Reena Das (Professor , Dept. of Haematopathology PGIMER, Chandigarh).

Workshop 6 on "Liquid-Based Cytology: Gynaec Cytology" conducted by Dr. Nalini Gupta (Professor, Department of Cytology and Gynaecological Pathology, PGIMER,Chandigarh) & Dr. Shilpi Agarwal (Professor, Department of Pathology LH MC, New Delhi).

Workshop 15 on "Antenatal & Neonatal Screening" conducted by Dr. K. Pramila (Professor , Dept. of Biochemistry, Madras Medical College, Chennai, Dr. Aparna Jairam (Founder & Director Dr. Aparna's Pathology Laboratory, Asavlee , Mumbai).

Workshop 16 on "Potpourri of Techniques and solutions for Advances in Biochemistry & Immunoassay Laboratory" Conducted by Dr. Barnali Das (Senior Consultant, Dept of Biochemist, KBDAH, Mumbai), Dr. Neeraj Jain, (President, MELAP, New Delhi).

As Richard Back said “The best way to pay for lovely moment is to enjoy it" and everybody let their hair down and had a gala time at the banquet. Everyone was enthralled by the entertaining musical evening in which everyone participated by showing their intricate steps to the dancing tunes & their talent of singing & playing musical instruments.

On 17th December Conference was inaugurated and President Dr. Subodh Gupta gave a welcome address welcoming the delegates, faculty members and industry partners followed by lamp lighting and Felicitation of Dr. J.S. Suri, Senior member of APP who was conferred with Life Time Achievement Award by Secretary General Of the association Dr. Rakesh Sharma. Souvenir of Pathcon 2017 was released by APP Patron Dr.(Lt.Gen.) J.R. Bhardwaj ex DGAFMS.

Dr. Arun Gupta President DMC, Advisor of APP released book on Assuring Quality & competence by Prof. S.K. Sood a eminent hematopathologist & former chairman Technical committee NABL.

Dr. Neeraj Jain, secretary of the association thanked the invitees, the faculty, delegates and the Industry Partners who all had braved the chilly morning and taken time out of their busy schedule.

Scientific session on 17th included Session1 on "Pre-

eclampsia screening & Prediction of adverse outcome" by Dr. Nimmi Kansal (Dr. Lal Path Labs, New Delhi) Session 2 on "Panel Discussion : Demystifying the thyroid" by Dr.Anju Virmani,(Associate Director, Pediatric Endocrinology, Max Hospital, Saket, New Delhi). Dr. Veena Singh Ghalaut, (Sr.Professor & Head, Dept.of Biochemistry (PGIMS Rohtak) Dr. Vinita Sarbhai, (Sr. Specialist, Dept. of Gynae Kasturba Hospital, New Delhi). Dr. Savita Nagpal, (Director Dr. Savita Nagpal's Laboratory, New Delhi).

Session 3 on "Utility of Immature platelet fraction " by Dr. Joy Mammen (HOD, Laboratory, CMC, Vellore)

Session 4 on "Digital Pathology- The way forward " by Dr. Sujay Prasad, (Medical Director Neuberg Diagnostics, Bangalore).

Session 5 on "Futurist ic Advancements in Haematopathology " by Dr. Jyoti Kotwal (HOD, Dept. of Haematology SGRH, New Delhi).

After a stupendous and mouth watering winter delicacies in lunch everyone gathered again for the post lunch session overcoming their afternoon siesta for more scientific sessions.

1st post lunch session was on " Era of High end Automation" by Dr. Neeraj Jain (President, MELAP, New Delhi).

2nd session on "Medicolegal Issues in clinical Laboratory" was by Dr. Dr. S.M. Kantikar, (Member Nat ional Consumer Disputes ,Redressa l Commission, New Delhi). Dr. Arun Gupta President DMC & Dr. Girish Tyagi Registrar DMC gave their important & relevant input in this session. Final session was on "Prenatal Screening for Fetal Aneuploidy & Neural Tube Defects" by Dr. Pradeep Suri (Head Dr. Suri Path Lab, New Delhi)

Scientific bonanza was also enhanced by more than 75 Oral Paper Presentations and Poster Paper Presentation which was judged by eminent faculty consisting of Dr. Vandana Puri (LHMC, Delhi), Dr. Sanjay Kumar(PGIMS, Rohtak), Dr. Dileep Kumar(Max Hospital, Delhi), Dr. Rajeev Sen (Prof & Head Dept. of Pathology ,PGIMS Rohtak) & Dr. Sanjay Gupta to encourage the youngsters and the budding professionals.

To finish with a finale, all the industry partners were recognised and appreciated.

"All good things must come to an end" but we all are leaving this Pathcon and Lab Expo 2017 on a high note and till we meet again next year at a bigger and better platform of APP.
