    1. Description

    1.1. General information

By purchasing this system you have acquired a modern and effi cient heating system. Ongoing qual-ity controls and improvements as well as functional checks at the plant guarantee you technically perfect equipment. Please read through this documentation carefully. The instructions contain important indica-tions regarding the safe and economic operation of the system.

    1.1.1. Sound emission

TERRA heat pumps are very quiet in operation thanks to their design. It is however important that the site of the heater is situated as far as possible from noise-sensitive living areas. A noise-insulating door should be fi tted door.

1.1.2. Construct ion dr ying/screed heat ing

The heat pump is not designed for the increased heat requirements when drying out construction work or heating plaster or screed. This must be covered by equipment to be provided by the customer if required.

1.1.3. Ser vic ing and maintenance

Regular maintenance as well as checking and servic-ing of all system components guarantee its safe and economical operation in the long term. To achieve this, we recommend a maintenance contract with the relevant IDM customer service company.

    1.1.4. Cleaning

If necessary, the TERRA heat pump can be cleaned with a damp cloth. The use of cleaning agents is not recommended.

A cleaning via a high pressure cleaner is not permit-ted!

    1.1.5. Working on the equipment

Assembly, initial commissioning, inspection, mainte-nance and repairs must only be performed by author-ised specialist staff.

Heat pumps may only be installed by competent spe-cialist staff and commissioned by a customer service company trained to do so by IDM-Energiesysteme GmbH. When working on the heat pump, it must be deactivated and secured against reactivation. When working on the heat pump, all safety instructions in the relevant documentation, stickers on the heat pump itself and all other applicable safety regulations must be observed.

1.1.6. In the event of hazards

Immediately disconnect the system from the mains, e.g. using a separate fuse or a main switch. In the case of fi re use suitable fi re extinguishers.

Please strictly observe the safety instruc-tions in this regard to avoid hazards and injury to people and material damage.

According to EU- standard 842/2006, an annual check for heat pumps with more than 3kg refrigerant is prescribed.

    1.1.7. Refr igerant leak

The heat pump is fi lled with a non-toxic and non-fl ammable refrigerant. If there is damage however, refrigerant could leak and lead to oxygen deprivation. Moreover, open fi re can also lead to harmful de-composition products. As such, upon the immediate detection of refrigerant leak (smell) leave the instal-lation location immediately and close the door. Notify customer service.

1.1.8. Instal l ing addit ional components

The installation of additional components which have not been tested with the equipment may impair function. No liability is accepted and the guarantee becomes void in the event of damage caused for this reason.

1.1.9. Instal lat ion room condit ions

    - Suffi cient ventilation - No heavy dust formation - No persistent air humidity - Frost-proof

1.2. Navigator Control for HGL Technology

The following functional description is applicable to IDM heat pumps type TERRA HGL with installed hot gas heat exchanger and Navigator Control.

A prerequisite for the perfect operation of the control system is clean work by the heating engineer and electrician, as well as the proper commissioning of the control system by a trained IDM service engineer.

1.3. Structure of the Navigator Control

The Navigator Control is comprised of a central unit and the control unit. Furthermore, in accordance with requirements, an internal heating circuit expansion module for two additional heating circuits, as well as an external heating circuit expansion module for three additional heating circuits, can be connected. The central unit also has an interface for a GSM module as well as a stepper motor module.

Via an SD card slot, on the actual central unit, it is possible to carry out evaluations using an event log.

For systems with additional electric heat-ing elements (eg convection heater,...) depending on the operation of the system additional costs can occur.

As a connection cable between the control unit and the mainboard only the provided cable is allowed to be used Tak-ing off the control unit is not possible.

HKx04 Room temp. heating normal (22C)

The room temperature heating normal can be set in a range from 15.00C up to 30.00C. The time where the temperature are hold, depends on the selected heating program.

HKx05 Room temp. heating ECO (18C)

The room temperature heating ECO gives the temperature outside the selected heating time.

The room temperature heating ECO can be set between 10.00C and 25.00C.HKx08 Heating limit (16C) For mixer and uncontrolled heating circuits a heating limit can be set in the user

menu above which the heating mode is blocked.

Above this averaged outside temperature (16h) no heating requirement occured from the heating circuit. The heating limit will be deactivated with setting 0.

HKx09 Room infl uence (1.0C) The room infl uence factor (0.0-4.0) shows to what extent the control system re-acts to the room temperature.

If the room unit is assembled in a room affected by other heat sources (e.g. a tiled stove) a smaller proportion should be selected. The temperature of the room in which the room unit is assembled, also affects the heating of the other rooms.

Note: Parameter is only visible in the case of confi gured room unit. HKx10 Heating curve (1.20) Given the steepness of the characteristic heating curve (0.10-3.50), the relation

between the outside temperature and the required fl ow temperature is established.

The greater the steepness of the characteristic curve is set, the higher is the fl ow temperature for the heating system depending on the outside temperature as well as on the heating and cooling limits (see fi gure heating curve page 19).

    Positioning wheel

In cooling mode, the room unit records a defrosting point via the humidity and the room tempera-ture is a humidity sensor is used in combination with room units. Recording the defrosting point causes a fl ow temperature adjustment, which prevents dropping below the defrosting point and therefore any possible humidity damage to the cooling operation! In order to avoid distorting the defrosting point calculation, the positioning wheel on the room unit must be set to the middle during cooling operation. In case of a deviation from this setting on the positioning wheel, the controller will report a false room temperature value, which infl uences the defrosting point monitoring.

For correct temperature monitoring, the po-sitioning wheel for room units in combination with a humidity sensor must be set to the mid-dle value during cooling operation, and this may not be changed!

5.1.2. Program prior i ty set t ing

By using the time setting "Program Priority", times can be established during which a priority storage tank charging takes place. The storage tank charg-ing is preferentially carried out prior to heating up the heating circuits.

During the priority charging procedure, the heating, when operating with a Hygienik, is not supplied with heat. When using an additional buffer accumulator, the supply to the heating circuits is guaranteed via the additional buffer accumulator in the priority charging mode.

During the priority charging procedure, the speed of the charging pump and, as such, the throughput through the condenser and the HGL exchanger, is reduced to the extent that the accumulator is once again charged with the desired HGL temperature (e.g. 58C).

    Procedure for setting the time:

It is possible to set an arbitrary number of times for the priority charging for each weekday.

Under the menu item Program Priority it is possible to change between the individual functions via the left-hand selection button. The respective function is selected using the right-hand selection key.

Once the desired day has been chosen, the left-hand selection key is used to select the Change function.

By using the right-hand selection key, the time for Activ (priority charging) and Inactiv (no priority charg-ing) can be set.
