Das zu Sn 8 6 isoelektronische und isostrukturelle Bi 8 2 ist also der erste quadratisch-antiprismatische Cluster mit acht Atomen. Zu der Zuschrift von G. Siuzdak und W. H. Benner et al. in Heft 3, 2001, S. 560 – 562, ist der folgende Nachtrag hinzuzufügen: Die erste direkte massenspektrometrische Untersuchung eines Virus wurde mit Tabak-Mosaik-Virus-Ionen mit einer in Berkeley entwickelten Methode (Fuerstenau et al., US-Patent 5770857, 1996) durchgeführt. Diese Untersuchungen wurden von Fuerstenau und Benner im Rahmen der „44th ASMS Conference on Mass Spectrometry and Allied Topics“ (Portland, USA, 1996) in Form eines Posterbeitrages mit dem Titel „Weighing Intact Virus Particles with a Charge Detection Mass Spectrometer“ beschrieben. Einige Zeit später untersuchten Siuzdak und Mitarbeiter bei einem Gastaufenthalt in Berkeley das RYM-Virus mit derselben Methode. Die ISBN des Buches „Chemistry of Fireworks“ von M. S.
