- Information for Ukrainian nationals -
For those, who stayed in Germany for at least 6 months the reintegration program ERIN (European
Reintegration Network) helps you to find a job, create your own business or pays for other assistances
for social and economic reintegration in Ukraine.
What kind of assistance can you receive through ERIN?
Reintegration assistance includes, i. a.:
· arrival service,
· vocational skill-building schemes, help with looking for a job,
· support in setting up a business and
· advice and support with official, medical and charitable institutions.
The service-provider largely provides the support in the form of benefits in kind (no direct payments).
· Voluntary return, single person: up to 2.000,- Euro
· Voluntary return within the family: up to 3.300,- Euro
· Vulnerability: + 500,- Euro
· Forced return: up to 1.000,- Euro.
Vulnerability criteria: people aged 60 and over, unaccompanied minors (<18 years), people with a disability, pregnant women, people with particular medical needs, single parents with minors and victims of torture, rape or other forms of severe psychological, physical or sexual violence.
There is no legal entitlement to funding via this program.
Can you benefit from the program?
The same conditions as for the REAG/GARP program apply to ERIN.
Where do you need to go?
The same authorities or NGOs as mentioned for the REAG/GARP program assist you in applying for
ERIN reintegration assistance.

Contact information ERIN Specific Action Program
Within the ERIN Specific Action Program,
Caritas International, member of the Caritas and ERSO
network, acts as an intermediary institution and
cooperates with Caritas Ukraine to assist returnees in
the first steps of their reintegration
process in Ukraine.

After Ukraine gained independence in 1991 the
Greek Catholic community started establishing
Caritas branches in Ukraine. When Caritas started
in Ukraine the regional organizations focused on
collecting and distributing humanitarian aid to the
disadvantaged. With time the needs of the
communities pushed Caritas in Ukraine to broaden
the scope of their work. This led to the creation of
Caritas Ukraine. In 1994 an Executive and
Coordinating Centre was established in L’viv and a
representative office was opened in Kyiv.
Caritas Ukraine is an umbrella organization for more
than 20 regional organizations of Caritas all over
Ukraine.
Reintegration assistance to returnees can be
provided in every part of Ukraine except temporary
occupied Crimea and Eastern territories that are not
under control of Ukrainian government.
For returnees to Ukraine, the first phone contact
will be with the contact person in L’viv. This phone
call will determine if the first physical contact will be
in L’viv or in a local office. This depends on the
needs of the returnee and how to address them in
the most efficient way.
Reintegration services
The ERIN Specific Action Program is a reintegration
program implemented by 18 host countries.
The ERIN Specific Action Program offers reintegration
assistance to Ukrainian nationals who return to their
home country voluntarily or by force.
Who can be assisted?
Which assistance can be provided?
1. Basic assistance after arrival in Ukraine
2. Referral to reintegration assistance: short & long term
• Pick-up or reception at the place of arrival
(e.g. airport)
• Temporary shelter (maximum 7 days)
• Urgent medical treatment
• Guidance for vulnerable people
• Other basic assistance after arrival
• Medical support, juridical advice and social
assistance
• Vocational training, education, providing access to
the Ukrainian labor market
• Assistance in setting up a small business or any
other income generating activity
• Other types of assistance, depending on the needs
of the returnee and on the available reintegration
package
If you are an Ukrainian national returning from Aus-
tria, Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France,
Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, the
Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Swit-
zerland or the United Kingdom, you can contact Cari-
tas Ukraine after arrival, in order to check your eligi-
bility and activate the reintegration package. Only af-
ter approval of the responsible ERIN partner insti-
tution, the assistance will be provided.
