shift-sensor technoLogy A shift­sensor integrated in the frame downtube responds when you want to change gear and imperceptibly interrupts the power momentarily to facilitate a smooth shift. in practice, this lets the rider to change gears as smoothly and quickly as they could on a conventional bike.

The control panel allows the length of power interruption to be adjusted between 50msec and 300msec at 50msec intervals.*

shift-sensor technoLogieDer im Rahmen verlegte Shift­Sensor erkennt Schaltvorgänge und unterbricht die Motor­unterstützung für Sekundenbruchteile, damit jeder Schaltvorgang so geschmeidig und schnell abläuft wie bei einem „normalen“ Fahrrad.

Die Unterbrechungsdauer kann über das Nahbedienteil zwischen 50ms und 300ms in Abständen von 50ms individuell eingestellt werden.*

Um den unterschiedlichen Konstruk tions­anforderungen im Rahmenbau Rechnung zu tragen, werden bei den FOCUS E­Bikes zwei verschiedene Batterie­Typen eingesetzt:

trekkingBei den FOCUS E­Trekking­Modellen wird diese Batterie mit einer Leistung von 612Wh/17Ah eingesetzt und hinter dem Sattelrohr befestigt.

off-roaDDie Off­Road Variante wird auf dem Unterrohr befestigt und passt sich so ins Rahmendreieck ein. Mit 396Wh/11Ah und 612Wh/17Ah stehen zwei Leistungsstärken zur Verfügung.

Beide Batterie­Typen sind stoßsicher montiert, abschließbar und können sowohl am Rad als auch im entnommenen Zustand geladen werden.

off-roaDOn Off­Road models the battery is mounted on the downtube so it fits within the frame triangle. Two capacities are offered: 396Wh/11Ah and 612Wh/17Ah.

Both battery types have shock­resistant mounts, are lockable and can be charged either on or off the bike.

SCHALTZENTRALE / CONTROL CENTRE Die neuen LCD­Displays „Compact“ (bei allen impulse 2.0 Modellen) und „Big“ (bei allen impulse Speed Modellen) sind sowohl Fahrrad­computer als auch informations zentrale des impulse­Systems.

Dank der leicht ablesbaren und übersichtlichen Displays hast du jederzeit alles im Blick.

Mit dem beleuchteten Nahbedienteil, das individuell links oder rechts am Lenker zu montieren ist, kann der Fahrer ergonomisch und sicher alle Display­Funktionen und die Fahr modi wählen, ohne dabei die Hand vom Lenker zu nehmen. Dies bringt maximale Kontrolle und Sicherheit.

Auch die praktische Schiebehilfe des impulse­Antriebs kann über das Nahbedienteil durch anhaltendes Drücken der Plustaste zugeschaltet werden.

The new "Compact" (impulse 2.0 models) and "Big" (impulse Speed models) LCD displays double as bicycle computers and information boards for the impulse system.

Easy­to­read, clearly laid­out displays mean that the rider can see and process all information at a glance.

An illuminated control module allows the rider to view all of the display functions and assist modes without letting go of the handlebar. This ergo­nomically designed solution gives maximum control with safety. The control panel can be mounted on either side of the handlebar to suit the rider.

The impulse drive’s electric assistance can be engaged by pressing and holding the ‘+’ key on the control module.

Mit dem Einsatz in den sportiven FOCUS E­Bikes feiert der impulse­Antrieb seine Premiere auf den Trails.

Da im Gelände andere Anforderungen an den Antrieb gestellt werden als im Stadtverkehr, wurde das Setup des impulse 2.0 Off­Road z.B. um die ‚Climb Assist‘­Funktion erweitert

Aber nicht nur die Abstimmung des Motors wurde für die Trails optimiert. Auch die Rahmenkonstruktion und speziell die integration der Motoreinheit im Rahmen wurde von den FOCUS ingenieuren auf die speziellen Anforderungen des Mountainbike­Einsatzes ausgelegt.

Das ergebnis ist der impulse off-road.

Off­road riding imposes different demands from those of city cycling, so the impulse 2.0 Off­Road drive has been optimised with a "Climb Assist" function.

As well as tuning the impulse 2.0 drive to meet the demands of trail riding, FOCUS engineers paid particular attention to the frame construction to ensure integration of the motor unit to meet the exacting demands and stresses of mountain biking.

Anders bei FOCUS: Da Herr über die Antriebs­ und Rahmenentwicklung, ist es den FOCUS ingenieuren möglich, den impulse­Antrieb einfach zu drehen und im Rahmendreieck mit vier Schrauben sicher zu befestigen. Dank dieser Lösung bietet der Rahmen optimale Bodenfreiheit und schützt den Motor vor Schlägen von unten.

insiDe the frame tUBes for greater Protection An E­mountain bike’s motor unit must have adequate protection for off­road riding. Many centre­motor bikes are inadequate in this area. Not so with FOCUS, because our engineers control and manage drive and frame development in­house. Simply by rotating the impulse drive and mounting it securely inside the frame triangle, ground clearance is optimised and the motor is protected from impacts from below.

Climb Assist can be activated or deactivated on the control module. Additionally, the amount of Climb Assist can be individually adjusted.

Reichweite von verschiedenen Faktoren ab. Natürlich ist die Reichweite auf flachen Strecken höher als im bergigen Terrain. Genauso können Gegen­ oder Rückenwind sowie die Temperatur die Laufleistung des Akkus beeinflussen. Neben diesen äußeren Einflüssen können die Anzahl der Start­Stopp­Vorgänge, eine gleichmäßige Tretleistung sowie ein perfekter technischer Zustand des Rades zur Steigerung der Reichweite beitragen. Und auch das Gewicht des Fahrers oder der Zuladung hat einen Einfluss auf die Reichweite.Die Einflüsse sind so vielfältig, dass die größte erzielte Reichweite bis zu 7x größer als die niedrigste Reichweite sein kann.

*CALCULATiON OF CRUiSiNG RANGES – The batteries used in FOCUS E­b ikes can give a range of up to 205 kilometres*. However, the actual distance is dependent on various factors. Greater distance is achievable on flat roads than hilly terrain. Similarly, a headwind or tailwind, as well as the ambient temperature, can affect battery performance. As well as these external influences, the number of stop­starts, a regular pedalling technique and the bike being properly maintained can also help to increase range. Also, rider weight and load influence the range, too. These many and varied contributing factors mean that the longest range achieved can be up to seven times greater than the shortest.
