Results of BMC‘s WW Mainframe Survey

Nearly 1,300 IBM mainframe users responded to give the best picture

possible of how the mainframe is working for real businesses today

Key Findings

90% consider mainframe to be a long-term business solution; 50% agree it will attract new

workloads

69% say keeping IT costs down is their top priority, tendency growing over the last years

59% expect MIPS to grow, highlighting the need for software that exploits specialty

engines

75% are concerned about the shortage of skilled mainframe staff, making the need for

automated, self-learning software greater than ever
