GB 1. Starting

Unpacking the unit

• If, while unpacking, you discover damage hasbeen caused in transit, please inform yourdealer immediately.

• Do not simply discard the packing materialswith the house-hold waste. Take the packingmaterials to the appropriate collection areas forrecycling.

Attaching accessories

• Connect the spray lance and spray gun.

• Attach the three-way nozzle so that the markergroove (3a) is situated at the top.

• Tighten all union nuts by hand.

Connecting the power supply

• See technical data of connected values.

• Check whether the voltage shown on the ratingplate corresponds to that of the power source.

Note:If you are using an extension cable, it shouldalways be completely unwound from the cabledrum and have a sufficient cross-sectional area:30 m = 1.5 mm²

Connecting the water supply

• See Technical Data for connected values.

• Connect a water supply hose (not supplied) tothe appliance and the water pipe.

SuctionObserve the following if you are drawing waterfrom an open container:– Attach a suction hose with filter (order no.

4.440-238) directly to the appliance.– To vent the unit, unscrew the nozzle and leave

the unit running until the water exits with no airbubbles.

– Switch off the unit and screw the nozzle backon.

Purpose

• Use the appliance to clean machines, vehicles,buildings, tools, etc.

• Clean facades, patios, garden implements, etc.with the high-pressure spray only, i.e. withoutdetergent.

• Engines must only be cleaned in places whichhave appropriate oil traps (protection of theenvironment).

• If the machine is used at petrol stations or inother hazardous areas, the appropriate safetyregulations must be observed.

• For stubborn dirt, we recommend use of the dirtblaster which is available as an optionalaccessory.

Venting the unit

• To vent the unit, unscrew the nozzle and leavethe unit running until the water exits with no airbubbles.

• Switch off the unit and screw the nozzle backon.

Operating with high pressure

• Release safety latch on handgun and presslever.

• Switch on unit.

Note: This unit is equipped with a pressureswitch. The motor only starts up when the leveron the handgun is pressed.

• Selecting type of jet:Rotate body of three-way nozzle until requiredsymbol lines up with mark (3a).

Meaning of symbols

High-pressure pencil jet (0°) for parti-cularly stubborn dirt

High-pressure fan jet (25°) for large areasof dirt

Low-pressure fan jet (CHEM) for use withdetergents or cleaning at low pressure

Rotate body of three-way nozzle only whenhandgun is closed.

• Always direct high-pressure jet at object beingcleaned from a greater distance first of all, inorder to prevent damage if pressure is too high.

Operating with detergents

• Set three-way nozzle to “ ”.

• Set the dosing ring on the detergent filter to therequired position.

• Suspend the detergent hose in the detergentcontainer (not included).

• In the interest of environmental protection, werecommend that you use detergents sparingly.Observe dosage recommendations shown onlabel on detergent canister.

• We provide a specialized programme of deter-gents and other cleaning products, which gua-rantee trouble-free operation of your cleaner.Please ask for advice or send for our catalogueor information sheets with details about thecleaning agents.- Active cleaner .............................. • We recommend the following cleaning methods:Step 1: Loosening dirt

Spray on detergent sparingly and leave for1–5 minutes.

Step 2: Removing dirtSpray off the loosened dirt with the high-pressurespray.

• The appliance should be rinsed clean afterdetergent has been used. To do this, suspendthe detergent suction hose in a container ofclean water, and run the pump for approx.1 minute.

Interrupting operation

• If you release the trigger of the spray gun, theappliance switches off. If the trigger is pulledagain, the appliance switches on again.

Switching off the unit

• Switch off the unit and pull the electric plug outof the socket.

• Close the water supply.

• Squeeze the lever on the spray gun until theunit has depressurized.

• Secure the lever on the spray gun againstunintentional opening.

Transporting the unit

• The unit is equipped with a handle and wheelswhich enable it to be moved over longerdistances more easily.

• The unit should be carried over steps or stairsby the handle.

GB 3. Care and Maintenance

Monthly or as Required

• Clean the filter on the detergent suction hose.

• Clean the high-pressure nozzle.Remove dirt from the nozzle hole with aneedle, and rinse with water from the front.

• Clean the strainer in the water connection. Itcan be easily removed with a flat-nosed pliers.

• Clean the strainer in the water connection.

• Check the inlet water flow rate.

• Check all inlet pipes to the pump for leaks orblockage.

Strong Pressure Fluctuations

• Clean the high-pressure nozzle. Remove dirtfrom the nozzle hole with a needle, and rinsewith water from the front.

Pump Leaks

• 3 drops per minute are permissible. In the caseof more serious leakage, you should contactthe authorized customer service.

No Detergent Suction

• Set three-way nozzle to “Low Pressure”.

• Clean the detergent suction hose with filter, andcheck for leaks.

Note:Disconnect the appliance from the power mainsbefore all repair work.Only authorized customer service personnelmay inspect electrical components.

In this chapter, we would like to give you somehints on dealing with malfunctions yourself.

In all other cases or in the case of electrical faults,please contact the authorized customer service.

Appliance does not Work

• Check the mains voltage.

• Check the connector cable for damage.

• If the motor overheats, allow it to cool down fora few minutes. Then switch back on again.

Appliance does not reach OperationalPressure

• Set three-way nozzle to “High Pressure”.

• Clean/renew three-way nozzle.

• Bleed the air from the appliance.(® Suction 2.)

4. Troubleshooting

Frost Protection

• Frost will destroy an appliance which has notbeen completely emptied of water. Ideally, theappliance shold be stored in a frost-free room.

Safety EquipmentWhen the hand-held spary gun is closed, theoverflow valve switches off the appliance via apressure-operated switch. The overflow valve isalso a safety device against exceeding themaximum allowable working pressure.

Spare PartsA selection of the most common spare partsnumbers is listed at the end of these operatinginstructions.

GuaranteeThe terms of guarantee issued by our competentdistribution company are valid in every country.If the appliance malfunctions in any way, we shallrectify the fault free of charge within the period ofguarantee, provided the cause can be attributedto faulty material or a manufacturing error.

The guarantee will only come into force whenyour dealer has completely filled out, stampedand signed the enclosed reply card on completionof sale and when you have sent the reply card tothe distribution company in your country.

In the event of a claim on the guarantee, pleaseconsult your dealer with accessories and receiptof purchase or contact your nearest authorizedcustomer service centre.
