Mit der Formula Student Germany wurde 2006 eine Idee umge­setzt, die für Studenten eine extrem herausfordernde, aber vor allem eine sehr interessante Aufgabe darstellt. In nur einem Jahr muss ein ganzheitliches Konzept entwickelt, vorgestellt und erfolg­reich ins Ziel gebracht werden. Gerade in einer Zeit, in der interna­tionale Zusammenarbeit entscheidend für den Unternehmenser­folg ist, bringt dieser Wettbewerb dabei all die Disziplinen zusam­men, die für einen erfolgreichen Berufseinstieg so wichtig sind.

Es beginnt schon mit der begrenzten Entwicklungszeit. In Ver­bindung mit den kaufmännischen Aspekten entsteht durchaus ein Umfeld für die Studenten, das dem Vergleich zur Praxis in der Industrie standhalten kann. Durch die internationale Zusam­menarbeit der Hochschulteams lernen sie zudem wichtige Aspekte wie die Zusammenarbeit zwischen verschiedenen Kulturen ken­nen – ein Faktor, der im Industriealltag über den Erfolg eines Kooperationsprojektes entscheiden kann.

Mit Einführung der Formula Student Electric ist eine weitere zukunftsweisende Disziplin entstanden. In der Automobilindus­trie sind Absolventen mit Know­how auf diesem Gebiet heute besonders gefragt. Vor allem die von Jahr zu Jahr steigende An­zahl der Teams mit Elektrofahrzeugen freut mich. Dieses Jahr haben bereits 31 Teams mit elektrischem Antrieb teilgenommen.

Wie sicher die Fahrzeuge unterwegs sind, erkennt man daran, dass auch bei diesem Wettbewerb alle Fahrer unversehrt blieben. Das geforderte anspruchsvolle Sicherheitskonzept hat sich bewährt.

Bei all der Herausforderung und dem Wettbewerb entstand während der fünf Tage am Hockenheimring unter den 108 Teams aus fünf Kontinenten und 25 Nationen eine tolle Atmosphäre – international und im freundschaftlichen Wettbewerb. Also beste Voraussetzungen für weitere erfolgreiche Veranstaltungen der Formula Student Germany in den kommenden Jahren!

Herausforderung für den nacHwucHs

An extremely challenging and also very interesting task has been implemented for the students with the Formula Student Germany idea in 2006. Within just one year, an integral concept has to be devel­oped, presented and the targets have to be completed successfully. Particularly at a time when international cooperation is absolutely crucial to the success of a company, this competition brings all disciplines together which are so impor­tant for a successful start in a career.

It already starts with the limited devel­opment time. In combination with the commercial aspects an environment is created which can stand a comparison to the practice in industry by all means. Based on the international cooperation between the university teams, the students learn important aspects like the cooperation between different cultures – a factor which can determine the success of a cooperation project in industry.

With the introduction of the Formula Student Electric, another future­oriented discipline has been evolved. There is a par­ticular demand for graduates with know­how in this field of expertise in the auto­motive industry. In this connection I am especially happy that the number of teams with electric driven cars is growing from year­to­year. This year, 31 teams with elec­tric driven cars have already participated in the competition. How safe the racecars are driving can be recognized by the fact that in this competition all drivers remained unharmed again. The required demanding safety concept has proved itself.

In spite of the challenge and the com­petition during the five days at the Hock­enheimring, a great atmosphere aroused among the 108 teams from five continents and 25 nations – international and in a friendly competition. All in all, optimum conditions for further successful events of the Formula Student Germany competi­tion in the coming years!
