Welcome to the Austrian Pavilion at OFFSHORE EUROPE 2007
The Austrian Pavilion has become a regular feature at OFFSHORE EUROPE, but this year it
has the biggest ever number of participants - overall 9 Austrian companies. There is a wide
variety of products on show this year, ranging from seamless steel pipes, steel plates and
heads as well as high pressure compressor systems to density and concentration measuring
instruments. Companies exhibiting for the first time at the Austrian Pavilion will be
showing offshore cranes, multifunctional turning-drilling-milling-centres and systems and
components for compressors. New on display are further drying systems for personal
protective equipment as well as virtual reality based simulators for safety training.
Austria does not have an offshore oil and gas industry itself, but the companies active in
this sector enjoy an excellent reputation for high quality products and technical expertise.
This booklet gives a brief introduction to the Austrian companies represented at OFFSHORE
EUROPE and I encourage you to meet their representatives in person to find out more about
what they have to offer.
The Commercial Section of the Austrian Embassy is also able to assist you in locating new

Microviscometers, Density/Concentration MeasuringInstruments, Rheometer
The extremely accurate density and concentration
measuring instrument DMA 4500 has proved its worth
for over 30 years in the quality control of all types of
liquids. The DMA 4500 is characterized by its robust
construction and ease of operation and can be combined with other Anton Paar instruments.
Anton Paar´s portable measuring instrument DMA 35N ascertains the density and concen-
tration of liquids to an accuracy of 0.001g/cm3. It can measure temperature, density, rela-
tive density or percentage concentration of H2SO4, °Brix, °Plato and alcohol.
The AMVn microviscometer excels in the quality control of polymers in weak solutions.
With the AMVn, users can ascertain fully automatically the intrinsic viscosity of a wide
variety of polymers in accordance with ASTM standards.
Additional products: CarboQC for determining the dissolved CO2 content in beverages,
Stabinger Viscometer SVM 3000, the new Physica MCR Rheometer range, Synthos 3000, a
high-performance microwave instrument for organic synthesis and Multiwave 3000 for

Today´s offshore industry is one of the most
innovative and complex sectors of the economy.
The step-by-step development of increasingly
barren drilling regions goes hand in hand with the rapid development of offshore crane tech-
nology.

Virtual Reality Training Simulators
Phenomatics produces virtual reality training
simulators.
In the virtual world training can take place for a
wide variety of activities and situations which would
be too dangerous, too expensive or too complicated in the real world. The principal areas of
application comprise safety training, plant training, machine maintenance and preparation
for complex tasks that are rarely carried out.
Phenomatics provides two simulators: SAVE and Magellan. SAVE is a training simulator
which has been tailored to oil and gas industry applications. SAVE has been successfully
used by the Schwechat refinery as part of its regular training programme since 2003.
Magellan is a flexible system that can be adapted to the
requirements of different sectors. It is equally suited for
training purposes relating to electrotechnology and power
stations as it is to machine construction factories, production
lines and disaster control.
Both simulators provide the opportunity of training for
dangerous work situations without the risk of injury, for
increasing employee training standards by means of “learning
by doing” and showing customers around a plant that does not
yet exist.

equipment are currently enjoying growth rates
of up to 35% per year! Dry and warm equipment
(clothing, shoes, gloves and caps) is essential
for maintaining employee performance or

WFL - Your Machine Tool forOilfield Components
When it's a question of finding suitable machines for the most demading
applications, MILLTURN turning-boring-milling centres are first choice.
But in the manufacture of components for the oilfield / energy sector,
such as turbine shafts or oilfield valves, complete machining is not a
widespread practice yet. Small wonder, as this sector does put unusually
high demands on machine and tools alike.
Seat pocket machining down deep holes normally requires a lot of time for clamping and
adjusting the workpiece. From now on this can be done faster and more easily using
MILLTURN centres. Both the changing of the necessary special tools and the docking
manoeuvre with the external coolant feeder device are fully automatic.
One-hit machining reduces the production time of complex,
high-precision oilfield components significantly. WFL shows
