Wo Wasser ist, sind Bakterien meist nicht weit. In wasserfüh-renden Leitungen leben ge-mäss Statistik 90 bis 99 Pro-zent der Mikroorganismen auf Rohren und Dichtungen. Ist der Wasserfluss aktiv und das Trinkwasser biologisch ausge-glichen, können sich die Bakte-rien nicht vermehren und sind auch nicht gefährlich. Hinge-gen an Orten, wo stehendes Wasser entsteht und eine durchschnittliche Temperatur von 25 bis 45 Grad herrscht, bilden sich innert kürzester Zeit Legionellen. Dabei zählen Alters- und Pflegeheime, Hal-lenbäder, Schulen, Ferienhäu-ser und Hotels zu den gängigs-ten Gefahrenorten. Deshalb empfiehlt es sich, genutztes Warmwasser täglich während einer Stunde auf 60 Grad zu heizen. Im Optimalfall beträgt die Warmwasser-Temperatur 60 Grad beim Austritt und 55 Grad im Verteilsystem. Zudem ist darauf zu achten, dass dasKaltwasser 20 Grad nicht über-steigt. Nach längeren Pausen sollten die Leitungen dringend komplett gespült werden. Und dabei alle Wasserhähnen mit Kalt- und Warmwasser über 20 Minuten laufen gelassen wer-den.

Die Problematik von Legionel-len besteht darin, dass die Bakterien durch kleinste Was-sertropfen eingeatmet und in die Lunge geraten, wo sie un-terschiedliche Krankheitsbilder auslösen – von einer Grippe bis hin zur tödlichen Lungenent-zündung. Das Trinken von be-fallenem Wasser ist jedoch un-schädlich. Mit der sogenanntenDurchflusszytrometrie kann die Bakterienzahl innerhalb von zwei Minuten gemessen undsomit rasch darauf reagiert werden. Im Umgang mit Legio-nellen sind verschiedene Me-thoden möglich. Im Folgenden stellen wir zwei technische Lösungsansätze gegenüber.

Il est par conséquent recommandé de chauffer quotidiennement l’eau chaude sanitaire à 60 °C pendant une heure. Dans l’idéal, l’eau chaude est initia-lement préparée à 60 °C et at-teint 55 °C dans le système de distribution. Par ailleurs, il convient de veiller à ce que l’eau froide ne dépasse pas 20 °C. En cas d’arrêt prolongé, il est indispensable de rincer in-tégralement les conduites en laissant couler l’ensemble des robinets d’eau chaude et froide pendant plus de 20 minutes.

La légionellose est due à une bactérie véhiculée par de mi-nuscules gouttelettes qui, en cas d’inhalation, peut at-teindre les poumons et déclen-cher diverses pathologies, de la grippe à la pneumonie fatale. La consommation d’eau infec-tée est toutefois inoffensive. La cytométrie en flux permet de déterminer en l’espace de deux minutes la quantité de bacté-ries, et de réagir rapidement le cas échéant. Différentes solu-tions existent pour lutter contre les légionelles. Nous comparons ci-après deux tech-niques distinctes.

Al con-trario dove l’acqua tende a ristagnare e la temperatura media varia dai 25 ai 45 gradi, in pochissimo tempo si svilup-pano i batteri della legionella. I luoghi più comunemente a rischio sono istituti per anziani e case di cura, piscine coperte, scuole, case vacanza e hotel. Di conseguenza si consiglia di riscaldare ogni giorno l’acqua calda utilizzata per un’ora por-tandola a 60 gradi. Nel caso ottimale la temperatura dell’acqua calda è di 60 gradi in uscita e di 55 gradi nel siste-ma di distribuzione. Inoltre oc-corre accertarsi che la tempe-ratura dell’acqua fredda non superi i 20 gradi. Dopo pause prolungate è assolutamente necessario risciacquare com-pletamente le tubazioni e far funzionare tutti i rubinetti per oltre 20 minuti con acqua cal-da e fredda.

Il problema della legionella è dato dal fatto che i batteri vengono inalati attraverso mi-nuscole gocce d’acqua e rag-giungono i polmoni dove sca-tenano diversi sintomi clinici: dalla semplice influenza alla polmonite con esiti mortali. Tuttavia bevendo l’acqua con-taminata non vi sono conse-guenze. La citometria a flusso consente di misurare il numero di batteri in due minuti, inter-venendo così rapidamente. Esi-stono vari metodi per contra-stare la legionella. Di seguito presentiamo due approcci tec-nici risolutivi.

Bacteria like moist conditions. According to statistics, 90 to 99% of the micro-organisms in water-carrying lines live on pipes and seals. If the water is actively flowing and the drink-ing water is biologically bal-anced, the bacteria cannot multiply and are not hazard-ous. In contrast, in places where standing water exists and an average temperature of 25 to 45 degrees prevails, le-gionella bacteria form very rapidly. This means that retire-ment and care homes, indoor swimming pools, schools, holi-day homes and hotels are among the most common haz-ard locations. It is therefore advisable to heat the hot wa-ter used to 60 degrees for one hour every day. The hot water temperature should ideally be 60 degrees upon exit and 55 degrees in the circulation sys-tem. It is also important to en-sure that the cold water tem-perature does not exceed 20 degrees. After long breaks in use, the lines must be com-pletely flushed and all hot and cold water taps left to run for 20 minutes.

The problem with legionella bacteria is that they are in-haled through minute water droplets and enter the lungs, where they trigger various syn-dromes – from influenza to deadly pneumonia. However drinking affected water is harmless. Flow cytrometry can be used to measure the bacte-ria count within two minutes so that a rapid response can be initiated. There are various ways of dealing with legionel-la. Two technical solutions are compared below.

Thermische DesinfektionIst eine Armatur bereits von Legionellen befallen, ist eine thermische Desinfektion nötig. Dabei werden Boiler, Leitungs-netz und Armatur für mindes-tens drei Minuten auf über 70 Grad erhitzt und so die Legio-nellen bezwingt. Bei der Pla-nung zu beachten ist, dass die haustechnische Anlage für eine solche grosse Wassermen-ge in einer solch hohen Was-sertemperatur ausgelegt ist. Nicht jede Heizungsanlage er-reicht an der Zapfstelle 70Grad. Deshalb muss die Aus-trittstemperatur am Boiler je nach Installation und Leitungs-länge 80 Grad betragen.

• Mittels Schlüsselschalter manuell durchführen und protokollieren.

• Betriebsfreie Zeiten nutzen wegen Verbrennungsgefahr.

• Empfehlenswert ist Verwen-dung von drittem Ventil – wie bei Sanimatic Pulse.

Il convient de s’assurer que les installations techniques du bâ-timent sont prévues pour at-teindre une température aussi élevée pour un tel volume d’eau. Tous les systèmes de chauffage ne parviennent pas à 70 °C au robinet. Selon l’ins-tallation et la longueur des tuyauteries, la température doit atteindre 80 °C en sortie de chauffe-eau.

• Exécution et consignation manuelles au moyen d’un commutateur à clé.
