PROFILE

I am a recent graduate of the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) in post-production sound, with distinction, and am currently working as a freelance sound designer.

Whilst progressing through my Graduate Diploma in Post Production Sound at AFTRS, I was able to learn from very experienced and renowned professionals from the Australian sound industry such as Chris Mckeith, Jenny Ward, Martin Oswin, Les Fiddess and William Ward who all shed invaluable light on their respective areas of expertise. Working on 5 Major collaborative practical assignments also gave me valuable insight into the sound process itself as well as the priceless experience of mix screenings and their related feedback processes.

Prior to AFTRS I completed my undergraduate degree in arts, majoring in film at UNSW with significant time spent at College of Fine Arts (COFA). At UNSW I have been able to explore my passion for the art of foley, soundscapes, sound design for film and even musical compositions as well as directing short films. UNSW had a strong focus on the theoretical side of film study which has also helped me to build on my filmic language and analytic skills, along with a much more detailed grasp of film histories from Hollywood as well as a variety of world cinemas.
