3 Prüfanforderungen Requirements

Before and after the sand and dust abrasion test, the short-circuit current of the cell is measured in order to document the change in solar transmission of the front sheet. The change in the current Iintersec shall not be more than 5 % (c-Si).

The insulation resistance and the wet leakage current test shall meet the same requirements as for the initial measurements, as defined in Clause MQT03 / MQT15 of the IEC 61215-2:2016. No evidence of major visual defects, as defined in MQT01 of the IEC 61215-2:2016.

4 Zusammenfassung der Prüfergebnisse Summary of test results

According to the inquiry of the customer, a blowing sand abrasion test was performed for above noted products. Initially the module was investigated by electroluminescence (Fig. 1 and Fig. 3), insulation and wet leakage current test, visual inspection and IV-curve measurement. The sand abrasion test (Fig. 5 - Fig. 7) was performed according to the following parameters:

Blowing sand concentration: 2.0 ± 0.5 g/m³

Test temperature: 63 ± 2 °C

Mean particle size: 380 µm, SiO2 amount: > 95 %

Wind velocity: 18 (±2) m/s

Irradiation area: 400 mm x 400 mm

Length of test: Maximum duration of 4 hours (per site 2 hours: backside and front glass)

Module orientation: portrait (vertical)

Mask for intersection current measurement: 5 cm wide tape

The modules passed the test. The insulation resistance and the wet leakage current tests met the same requirements for the initial and final measurements, as defined in Clause 10.3/10.15 of IEC 61215. Moreover no major defects could be found by visual inspection. The change in the current (Fig. 8 and Fig. 9, Tab. 1) showed a deviation of 2.8 % and 5.2 % which is below 5 +1.25 %, considering the tolerance of the sand concentration. This result was verified by a reflection measurement. The backside of the module (Fig. 10: Front- and backside after the sand test (HV2018003655)) was abraded on 40 cm x 40 cm.

The intersection current Iintersec is reduced after the blowing sand test by 5.2 % and 2.8 %.
