Von den Geschehnissen der letzten Wochen hatancotel einiges zu berichten, denn im März wurdedie der persönliche Marktplatz fürancotel Kunden und für solche, die es werdenwollen. Wir durften eine 19-köpfige Delegation aus Aserbaidschan, Georgien, Kasachstan und der Ukraine sowie 18 Mitglieder der DeutschenTelekom AG bei uns begrüßen, die ancotel, undbesonders das ancotel Produkt , besserkennenlernen wollten. Außerdem sponserte ancotel das Viererbobteam„Becker“, das bei den diesjährigen Meisterschaftenam bayrischen Königssee eine der zehn schnell-sten Mannschaften war.

ancotel has a lot of events to report on fromrecent weeks, for example, in March became the personal market place for existingancotel customers and for those that would liketo be. We were pleased to welcome a delegationof 19 from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan andthe Ukraine, as well as 18 members of theDeutsche Telekom AG, who, in particular, wanted to get to know ancotel and the ancotelproduct better. In addition, ancotelsponsored the four-man bobsleigh team“Becker”, which was one of the ten fastest teams at the championships at Lake König in Bavaria, this year.

Voice compression reduces line costs
The Vmux-2100 uses G.723.1, G.729A and G.711 voice compression algo-rithms for optimal cost/performance. The unit maintains toll-quality voicewhile achieving the highest compression ratio for voice transmissions overTDM and IP networks. Voice activity detection and silence suppressionallow the Vmux-2100 to dynamically utilise bandwidth for voice traffic andfax or modem relay, resulting in very efficient bandwidth usage over fewerlines, while signalling information is transmitted separately.

Uses 60% less bandwidth than VoIP
TDMoIP also improves bandwidth utilisation and provides a real migrationpath to IP. Separate TDM and Ethernet uplinks enable simultaneous trans-mission over both TDM and IP networks. With lower overhead than VoIPsystems, TDMoIP frees up to 60% more bandwidth for additional voice ordata, which is crucial on costly or low bandwidth links.
Converged services save equipment and maintenance costs
Network integration is the key to maximum savings in the wide area net-work. The Vmux-2100 converges voice, fax and Ethernet traffic over thesame network link. By combining voice/fax capabilities with Ethernet datatraffic over a single delivery network, operators can significantly reducecosts.
Space-saving unit
The compact, 1U-high Vmux-2100 voice trunking gateway is a modular unitthat can be installed in 19" racks, and has the smallest footprint of any TDMvoice compression or VoIP product of equivalent capacity. The Vmux-2100can be configured with up to four voice compression modules, up to fourchannelled TDM modules and up to two power supply modules. All modu-les are plug-in and field-replaceable. Power supply and voice compressionmodules are hot-swappable.

At first they were welcomed by the Mana-ging Directors and were then shown the premises at . After the reception by Managing Director Klaus-Jürgen Orth and DirectorBusiness Development Michael Böhlert, the gentlemen were given a tourthrough the ancotel building.Afterwards, the delegation was collected by coach for a tour of the city. Thetour gave an inside view of the city of Frankfurt, which is rich in traditionswith its well-known quarter of Sachsenhausen and the apple wine tradition.Of course, a dinner at Sachsenhäuser Warte couldn’t be left out at the end.

At the beginning of March, it was time again for the ancotel bobsleigh togive its performance in Berchtesgaden near Lake König in Bavaria, on thefirst artificial ice run in the world. It was driven by the bob quartet fromHessen “Bobteam Becker”. Dr Uli Becker piloted, and Andreas Mayer,Thomas Kloos and Alexander Pistner were the pushers. At the GermanChampionships 2007 the four of them really put their feet down as therewere another ten teams at the starting line competing for the title. ancotel’s Managing Directors Klaus-Jürgen Orth and Udo Müller were onlocation, in order to support them vigorously and to bolster their team.They both raced down the ice channel in the bobsleigh themselves lastyear, and know exactly how much power one has to give. The ice channel is1,200 m long with a slope of 11%, and has fourteen curves that range froma twelve to 30 m radius. In a straight line the speed can increase to 125 kilo-metres per hour, in the curves the G-force presses with a strength of 5 Gsonto the drivers, five times the acceleration of earth’s gravity. There are for-ces affecting the human body as strong as those pressing on the pilot of aEurofighter. The ancotel bob team shot through the finish with a time of 1:42.79 minutesand came in eighth in the four-men bobsleigh competition. Thomas Flor-schütz and his team became German Men’s Bobsleigh Champions 2007(1:37.96 minutes) and the Olympic Champion Sandra Kiriasis and herpusher became Champions of the women’s competition (1:43.24 minutes). “We are proud of our ‘Bobteam Becker’ and we are already looking forwardto next year’s championships, when the ancotel bob will again shoot downthe ice channel,” commented Klaus-Jürgen Orth.

Gefahren wurde er vom hessischen Bobquartett „Becker“. Dr. UliBecker war am Steuer, Anschieber waren Andreas Mayer, Thomas Kloos undAlexander Pistner. Bei der deutschen Meisterschaft 2007 gaben die vier richtigGas, denn mit ihnen waren noch zehn weitere Teams am Start und kämpftenum den Meistertitel.Die ancotel Managing Directors Klaus-Jürgen Orth und Udo Müller warenvor Ort, um ihr Team kräftig anzufeuern und ihm den Rücken zu stärken. Diebeiden sind im letzten Jahr schon selbst den Eiskanal mit dem Bob hinunter-gerast und wissen genau, wie viel Power man hier geben muss. Der Eiskanalist 1.200 m lang und hat 11 % Gefälle und 14 Kurven, deren Radien von 12bis 30 m gehen. Auf der Geraden steigt die Geschwindigkeit sogar auf bis zu125 Stundenkilometer, in den Kurven wirkt der Anpressdruck mit einer Stärkevon 5 G, der fünffachen Erdbeschleunigung, auf die Fahrer. Hier wirken Kräfteauf den menschlichen Körper, wie sie der Pilot eines Eurofighters erlebt.

ancotel at CeBIT 2007This year ancotel again visited CeBIT in Hanover. The exhibition was heldfrom 15 to 21 March and was visited by 379,000 specialist visitors. Russiawas this year’s CeBIT partner country and distinguished itself as an aspiringand versatile ITK nation, with about 170 exhibitors in total.Amongst others, ancotel visited the Russian pavilions and held variousmeetings with exhibitors, customers and prospective buyers. In this issuewe would like to introduce you to Sema Akinci, 30. Since March, Sema hasalso been working as a full-time receptionist at the welcome desk, whereshe greets ancotel visitors. Sema arranges the access conditions for visitorsand supports the ancotel team with her administrative activities. She has alot of experience to offer in this area, as she used to work as a receptionistfor renowned banks and consulting and investment firms in Frankfurt amMain. Sema was born and raised in Gelnhausen, but used to live in the US(NYC/Harlem), and her parents’ home country of Turkey for some time. Therefore, she not only speaks German, but also Turkish and English fluently. In her free time she visits her friends in America as often as possible, goesshopping in New York, and sunbathes on the beach in Miami.
