It has been the call and the vocation of the follower of Jesus Christ. So, are you a faith filled person dedicated to deepen your own understanding of the Catholic faith? Do you feel that God is call-ing you to become more engaged in the practice of your faith?
Then you may be just the person we are looking for at Our Lady of La Salette! There is an ongoing need for catechists in our Parish Faith Formation Programs at all lev-els. A catechist is anyone who is sharing and passing on the faith. Remember that the word “catechist” literally means “to echo.” A catechist echoes the Word of God and the teachings of the Church as they apply to every day life and living. Catechists do not teach a subject... they share a life-style —the Christian life-style. We are all catechists. All of us are called to share our faith with the next generation of Catholics. Let us preach the Good News to all! Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time Week of February 8, 2015 Listen to the Word (Mark 1:29 — 39) As you listen to the stories of Jesus healing the peo-ple, what strikes you about it? What do you detect in Jesus that strengthens his ministry? Look into your life Question for children: What can you do to help your friends and classmates know more about Jesus? Question for youth: Jesus knew that his mission was for everyone, not just one village or group of peo-ple. How can you reach out to others (outside of friends and family) and offer them hope and Good News? Question for adults: If you were going to pray for healing for any reason, what would it be? What needs to be healed in our world and society? Activities for the week Take these activities to further reflect: As a family, discuss ways that you can help others know more about Jesus. Plan a project that you can do together. The Church shares the Good News today through the actions of the members. Find out what your par-ish is doing to spread God's mercy and compassion. Ask what you can do to support their efforts. Tell a story about a time when you shared the Good News with a coworker, a neighbor, or a fam-ily member. We are the people who bring Jesus to others. As a family, make a paper chain and write on the links how we bring Jesus' love to others.

Ve tu vida Pregunta para los niños: ¿Qué puedes hacer para ayudar a tus amigos y compañeros de estudio a conocer más acerca de Jesús? Pregunta para los jóvenes: Jesús sabía que su misión era para todos, no sólo para un pueblo o grupo de personas. ¿Cómo puedes tenderles tu la mano a otros (que no sean tus amigos y familia) y ofrecerles esperanza y la Buena Nueva? Pregunta para los adultos: Si fueras a orar por una sanación, ¿cuál sería? ¿Qué necesita ser sanado en nuestro mundo y en nuestra sociedad? Actividades para la semana Tomen estas actividades para reflexionar más: En familia, conversen sobre las maneras en que pueden ayudar a los demás a aprender más acerca de Jesús. Plani-fiquen un proyecto que puedan hacer juntos. Hoy la Iglesia comparte la Buena Nueva por medio de las acciones de sus miembros. Averigüe qué está haciendo su par-roquia para extender la misericordia y la compasión de Dios. Investiga qué puedes hacer para apoyar esos esfuerzos. Cuenta un relato de alguna ocasión en que compartiste la Buena Nueva con un compañero de trabajo, un vecino o un miembro de la familia. Somos el pueblo que lleva a Jesús a los demás. En familia, preparen una cadena de papel y escriban en los eslabones las diferentes maneras cómo llevamos el amor de Jesús al prójimo.
8 DE FEBRERO DEL 2015 Quinto Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario El pasaje de las Escrituras de hoy están vinculados por los temas del sufrimiento y la curación, la fe, la predicación de la Buena Nueva, y la oración. Job atravieza por un tre-mendo sufrimiento, pero mantiene su fe en Dios. En el Evan-gelio de San Marcos, a través de la fe de los discípulos en Jesús, la suegra de Simón-Pedro recibe sanación. Jesús nos enseña, como sus discípulos, la importancia de la oración y de conocer a través de la fe que él siempre está presente para fortalecernos y sanarnos de nuestras aflicciones.

The Scripture passages today are linked by the sub-jects of suffering and healing, faith, preaching the Good News, and prayer. Job experiences tremen-dous suffering but keeps his faith in God. In St. Mark’s Gospel, through the disciples’ faith in Jesus, Simon-Peter’s mother-in-law is healed. Jesus teaches us, as his disciples, the importance of prayer and to know through faith that he is always present to strengthen and heal us from our afflictions.
