Herkunft: Der Arganbaum (Ardjanbaum, Eisenholzbaum) gehört zu den Sapotaceae Gewächsen und

ist ein langsam wachsender stacheliger Strauch oder Baum (je nach Alter), der in Süd-West Marokko

zwischen Agadir und Essaouira heimisch ist. Dort wächst er wild auf einer Fläche von ca. 740.000 ha

(Charrouf/Guillaume 1999). 1999 wurde Marokkos Arganiengebiet von der UNESCO in die Liste der

zu schützenden Biosphären aufgenommen (Kirst/Buchbauer/Klausberger 2008, S. 57).

Origin: The argan tree (ardjan tree, iron wood tree) belongs to the Sapotaceae family and is a slow-growing

thorny shrub or tree (depending on age) and is local to south-west Morocco between Agadir and Essaouira. It

grows wild on an area of approximately 740 000 ha (Charrouf / Guillaume 1999). 1999 Morocco’s argan area

was included into UNESCO list of protected biospheres (Kirst/Buchbauer/Klausberger 2008, p. 57).

Beschreibung der Pflanze: Der Arganbaum wird 7–10 Meter hoch, kann einen Umfang von bis zu 15

Metern und ein Alter von 125–150 Jahren erreichen. Sein Stamm ist oft knorrig und verkrümmt. Ab

einem Alter von 5 Jahren beginnt der Baum Früchte zu tragen. Die Früchte sind rund bis oval und ha-

ben ein grünes, fleischiges Aussehen ähnlich einer Olive. Im Reifezustand sind die Früchte leuchtend

gelb. Jede Frucht enthält 1 bis 3 ovale, glatte, braune Kerne, die bis zu 2 cm lang sind. Innerhalb des

Kerns befindet sich der ölreiche Samen (Axtell/Fairmann 1992, S. 11).

Description of the plant: The argan tree is 7–10 meters in height, a circumferential of up to 15 meters and can

reach an age of 125–150 years. The trunk is often gnarled and crooked. From the age of 5 years, the tree begins to

bear fruits, which are round to oval and have a green, fleshy look like an olive. Ripe fruits are bright yellow. Each

fruit contains 1 to 3 oval, smooth, brown seeds, up to 2 cm long. The oil-rich seeds are sitting in the core (Ax-

tell/Fairmann 1992, p. 11).

Ölgewinnung: Zur Ölgewinnung werden typischerweise die heruntergefallenen Früchte verwendet,

die von Juni bis September aufgelesen werden. Eine andere Form der Ernte gestaltet sich besonders

schwierig, da der Baum wegen seines spröden Holzes nicht geschüttelt werden kann und ein dichtes

Dornengeflecht die Handlese verhindert. Die Samen enthalten 30%–55% fettes Öl

(Kirst/Buchbauer/Klausberger 2008, S. 57). Vor der Ölgewinnung müssen die Früchte entkernt, die

Kerne mit Steinen gespalten und der Samen entnommen, getrocknet und leicht geröstet werden

(Charrouf/ Guillaume 1999).

Beim handgepressten Arganöl werden die Samen zu einem braunen Teig zerrieben. Dieser wird ge-

knetet und mit Wasser verrührt, bis eine Wasser–Öl Emulsion entsteht. Durch Kneten der Emulsion

trennt sich das Öl vom Wasser und wird abdekantiert. Der übrig bleibende Presskuchen enthält im-

mer noch über 10% Restöl und wird als Viehfutter verwendet. Es bedarf bis zu 10 Stunden harter Ar-

beit, um mit dieser Methode 1 Liter Öl zu gewinnen. Zudem ist die Ausbeute eher gering. Das Öl hat

durch den relativ hohen Anteil an Restwasser eine geringe Haltbarkeit und ist hygienisch meist nicht

einwandfrei (Kirst/Buchbauer/Klausberger 2008, S. 57).

Beim maschinell gepressten Arganöl werden die Samen mit einer Ölmühle unter starkem Druck ge-

presst. Die Zufuhr von Wasser entfällt ganz. Die Ölausbeute ist höher und die Gewinnung geschieht

schneller (2 Liter pro Stunde) und das Öl ist haltbarer. Zudem können wichtige Hygienevorschriften

(z. B. HACCP) eingehalten werden. Das maschinell gepresste Arganöl beinhaltet weniger Säure und

ist so bekömmlicher (Charrouf/Guillaume 1999). Unser Bio Arganöl (Bio Argansamenöl) leicht gerös-

tet wird maschinell hergestellt.

Extraction of the oil: For oil extraction, fallen fruits are typically used, picked from June to September. Anoth-

er form of harvesting is particularly difficult because the brittle wood of the tree can`t be shaken. Additionally,

harvesting by hand is complicated by many thorns. The seeds contain about 30%–55% fatty oil

(Kirst/Buchbauer/Klausberger 2008, p. 57). Prior to oil production, the cores must be removed from the fruits

and then split with stones and dried (Charrouf/Guillaume 1999).

For hand-pressed argan oil, the seeds are grounded into a brown paste. This is kneaded and water is added.

The resulting water-oil emulsion is kneaded and the oil is separating from the water and decanted. The remain-

ing press cake still contains about 10% residual oil, and is used as cattle feed. It takes up to 10 hours of hard

work to produce at least one litre of oil with this method. In addition, this method gives a relatively low yield.

Due to a high amount of remaining water the shelf life is rather limited and the oil is almost not hygienically ac-

ceptable (Kirst/Buchbauer/Klausberger 2008, p. 57).

When argan oil is machine-pressed, the seeds are grounded with an oil mill under great pressure. Addition of

water is not necessary. This results in higher oil yields and extraction can be done faster (2 litres per hour) and

the oil is more stable. Moreover, important hygienic requirements can be maintained (e.g. HACCP). The me-

chanically-pressed argan oil contains less acid and is known to be more easily digestible (Charrouf/Guillaume

1999). Our organic argan oil (organic argan seed oil) lightly roasted is machine-made.

Verwendung: Arganöl (Argansamenöl) wird gern Grundstoff für Kosmetika und medizinische Haut-

pflege in der Kosmetik- und Pharmaindustrie eingesetzt. Das Öl ist eine gute Grundlage für Salben,

Cremes und Lotionen. Ebenso kommt es vermehrt in Reinigungsprodukten wie z. B. Seifen, Flüssig-

seifen, Shampoos und Haarspülungen zum Einsatz. Ebenso kommt es als Nahrungsergänzungsmittel

Verwendung in der Küche: Bio Arganöl (Bio Argansamenöl) leicht geröstet wird in Marokko als

Speiseöl verwendet und ist eine wichtige Energiequelle (Axtell/Fairmann 1992, S. 11). In Europa gilt

Arganöl als Gourmet Speiseöl für die anspruchsvolle Gastronomie und steht auf einer Stufe mit Kavi-

ar und Trüffel (Kirst/Buchbauer/Klausberger 2008, S. 61).

Um die Eignung des Arganöls als Frittierfett zu untersuchen, wurden 2 Liter Öl über 24 Stunden lang

auf 180°C erhitzt. Des Weiteren wurden, zur Simulation eines praktischen Frittiervorgangs, alle 4

Stunden 2 mL Wasser hinzugefügt. Es zeigte sich, dass Arganöl ähnliche Frittiereigenschaften wie

Baumwollsamenöl oder Olivenöl besitzt (Yaghmur et al. 2001).

Culinary uses: In Morocco organic argan oil (organic argan seed oil) lightly roasted is used as cooking oil, and

it is an important energy source (Axtell/Fairmann 1992, p. 11). In Europe, argan oil is a gourmet cooking oil for

sophisticated restaurants and stands on a par with caviar and truffles (Kirst/Buchbauer/ Klausberger 2008, p.

61).

To investigate the suitability of argan oil as cooking oil, 2 litres of oil were heated for 24 hours at 180°C. Fur-

thermore, a practical frying was simulated by adding 2 mL water every 4 hours. It was found that argan oil has

similar properties of frying as cottonseed oil or olive oil (Yaghmur et al. 2001).

zufolge keine CMRs in seiner Herstellung oder während der Herstellung des verwendet.

Chlorpyrifos:

Unser Produkt enthält unserem derzeitigen Kenntnisstand zufolge keine Rückstände von Chlorpyrifos

in oder auf bestimmten Erzeugnissen.

Schwermetalle:

Unser Produkt enthält unserem derzeitigen Kenntnisstand zufolge keine Schwermetalle.

Konservierungsmittelfreiheit:

Unser Produkt ist nach unserem derzeitigen Kenntnisstand weder mit synthetischen Konservie-

rungsmitteln wie Formaldehyd und Parabene versehen worden, noch wurden solche in der Herstel-

lung verwendet.

BSE/TSE Frei:

Unser Produkt ist frei von BSE (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy) und TSE (Transmissible Spon-

giform Encephalopathy). Das Produkt stammt nicht aus einem Rohstoff tierischen Ursprungs. Die

Chemikalien, welche mit der Entwicklung von BSE oder TSE in Verbindung gebracht werden, wurden

in unseren Produktions- und Abwicklungsprozessen NICHT verwendet.

MOSH, POSH, MOAH Erklärung:

Die Firma SanaBio GmbH untersucht dieses Erzeugnis regelmäßig auf den Inhalt von MOSH, POSH,

MOAH hin. Die Firma SanaBio GmbH informiert ihre Kunden und die zuständigen Überwachungs-

behörden wenn sich Spuren von MOSH, POSH, MOAH in diesem Erzeugnis nachweisen lassen. Bis-

her ergaben sich KEINE Beanstandungen hinsichtlich der Überschreitung eventueller Grenzwerte o-

der einer eventuellen Gesundheitsgefährdung durch den Inhalt von MOSH, POSH, MOAH in diesem

Erzeugnis.

Die Angaben in dieser Spezifikation haben informativen Charakter. Sie stammen aus der Fachliteratur,

aus den Spezifikationen von Lieferanten sowie aus Analysezertifikaten und sind nach unserem Wissen

das Ergebnis von Beobachtungen und „In Vitro“, bzw. chemischen oder physikalischen Labor-

Untersuchungen. Eine bestimmte Wirkungsweise am Menschen wurde nicht getestet. Die Angaben

Our product is GMO free and therefore not subject to the labelling requirement under regulation (EC)

1829/2003 and regulation (EC) 1830/2003.

Irradiation Statement:

To produce our product, no irradiated materials were used; our product itself was also not irradiated.

Animal protection and Vegan Statement:

Our product is purely vegetable origin and comes during its manufacture, storage and its transport with no an-

imal materials in contact. Neither our product nor its ingredients have been tested on animals. Likewise, no ani-

mal testing will be undertaken at present and in future.

Sterility:

Our product is free of Candida albicans, Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria.

Allergen free:

Our product contains no detectable amounts of proteins and consequently has no risk of allergens as defined by

the food law. If allergens should be present, we will expressly point out.

Preservative free:

Our product has been provided according to our current knowledge neither with synthetic preservatives agents,

such as formaldehyde and parabens, nor these have been used in the manufacture.

BSE/TSE status:

Our product is free from BSE (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy) and TSE (Transmissible Spongiform En-

cephalopathy). The product does not come from a raw material of animal origin. The chemicals that are associated

with the development of BSE or TSE were NOT used in our production and handling processes.

in this product. So far, there have been no complaints regarding the exceeding of possible limit values or a poten-
