Dschibuti arabisch جيبوتي Dschībūtī, französisch Djibouti, Somali Jabuuti, Afar Gabuuti) ist eine Republik in Ostafrika an der Meerenge Bab al-Mandab. Ihre Fläche ist etwas größer als Hessen. Sie grenzt im Norden an Eritrea, im Westen und im Süden an Äthiopien und im Südosten an Somalia bzw. das international nicht anerkannte Somaliland sowie im Osten an den Golf von Aden und das Rote Meer. Der Jemen liegt wenige Kilometer entfernt auf der anderen Seite des Roten Meeres.

Djibouti (jee-BOO-tee; Arabic: جيبوتي Jībūtī, French: Djibouti, Somali: Jabuuti, Afar: Gabuuti), officially the Republic of Djibouti, is a country located in the Horn of Africa. It is bordered by Eritrea in the north, Ethiopia in the west and south, and Somalia in the southeast. The remainder of the border is formed by the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden at the east. Djibouti occupies a total area of just 23,200 km2 (8,958 sq mi).
