PPPolypropylene shows a high mechanicalstrength and a tensile strength, but a lownotched impact strength. PP resists stresscracking and it is easy to weld. At minustemperatures it can get brittle. The chemicaland electrical properties are very good. Thecontinous operating temperatures rangesbetween +5 °C and +100 °C.Properties:• low weight• high heat resistance• high tensile strength, high surface strength• high chemical resistance• low oxidation resistance• low abrasion resistance• brittle in the coldness• HF-welding not possible• natural color is not weather resistantApplications:Pumps, valves, gaskets, supporting standsfor the coating industry, spacer for the plating, particles for toys.
PP-ELS* (electrically conductive)PP-H with improved electronical conductivity.Volume resistivity ≤ 106 Ω,Surface resistivity ≤ 106 Ω.A higher stability in contrast to the standardPP.
PP-30GFThe 30% glass fibre reinforced PP has animproved dimensional stability, very highstiffness and heat resistance HDT/B +155 °Cthat opens up additional applications.
PP-30PET-FThe 30% PET fibre reinforced PP is characte-rised by an optimised stiffness with an impro-ved notched impact strength at the sametime.Properties:• the relation between mechanical strength
and impact strength is very high• a handy surface• the fracture behavior is splinter-proof for
passive safety• better impact strength at -30 °C as e.g. PC• higher heat resistance as e.g. PP• higher tensile strength as e.g. PP and PA• PET-fibres decreases the notched sensitivity• good acoustic characteristics (good
absorbability, lower emission of noise)Applications:Production of brushes and barrels, pumpsand valve parts.

PP / PP-ELS* / PP-30GF / PP-30PET-F

Symbolism for the description of the chemical resistance
+ = resistant (only small changes of the weight, dimensions and properties. According our experiences there is no permanent damage expect).
o = partly resistant (medium changes of the properties. At longer contact time there are permanent damages recommended e.g. degradation of the macro molecular structure).
- = non resistant (strong and permanent degradation in short contact time e.g. stress cracking).
= not tested (no tests were done, no recommendations are possible).
The figures indicated here are approximate values. They may be affected by the temperature, operating time, concentration and stress level of the component involved, by mechanical loads, etc., and the user is not released therefore from the obligation of performing checks and trials of his own. The values indicated here have been compiled on the bases of current experiences and findings. Any legally binding guarantee of certain properties, or any suitability for a specific application cannot be inferred from the present data.
