Füssen als Sportstadt steht in einer langen Tradition mit dem Eissport und dieser ist gekennzeichnet durch den vielfachen deutschen Meister EV Füssen.In einer ähnlichen Tradition, jedoch einige Jahre jünger, fi nden bereits zum zehnten Mal die Oktoberfest Classics statt und es erfüllt mich als Bürgermeister mit Stolz und Freude, hierzu 18 Teams willkommen zu heißen.
Liebe Eishockey-Freunde,Ich heiße alle Teilnehmer und Gäste der 10th Oktoberfest Classics im Bundesleistungs-zentrum für Eishockey in Füssen ganz herzlich willkommen.Es freut mich sehr, dass Sie, lieber Herr Nirschl, sich bei der Wahl des Austragungsor-tes für die 10th Oktoberfest Classics abermals für unser schönes Füssen entschieden haben.
Dem Organisationskomitee um Herrn Nirschl wünsche ich einen rundum gelungenen Verlauf der 10th Oktoberfest Classics. Den Mannschaften und Gästen faire, verletzungsfreie und spannende Spielbegegnungen, viel Freude am gemeinsamen Sport und schöne Tage in Füssen.

Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren, liebe Sportfeunde!Herzlich Willkommen zur 10.Aufl age der Oktoberfest Classics im Bundesleistungszent-rum im schönen Füssen!An erster Stelle möchte ich im Namen der gesamten deutschen Eishockeyfamilie meinen besonderen Dank an Herrn Markus Nirschl von den Geronimo Stars sowie allen ehrenamtli-chen Helferinnen und Helfern, die diese Veran-staltung bereits zum zehnten Mal auf die Beine gestellt haben, ausdrücken.Die Oktoberfest Classics haben mittlerweile eine lange Tradition hier in Füssen und bieten in diesem Jahr wieder bis zu 20 Mannschaften aus aller Welt eine tolle Bühne für internationales Hobbyeishockey. Besonders schön zu sehen ist, dass neben lokalen Teams vor allem auch Mannschaften aus den USA, Kanada, Russland, Dubai, Itali-en, der Schweiz und der Ukraine in den drei Divisionen des Turniers antreten. Markus Nirschl und sein Team haben in der Vergangenheit schon öfter unter Beweis gestellt, dass bei dieser Veranstaltung neben dem freundschaftlichen und fairen Wettkampfcharakter vor allem der Spaß sowie der internationale Austausch im Vordergrund steht. Außer-dem wird den Teilnehmer neben den Spielen ein abwechslungsreiches Rahmenprogramm mit Ausfl ügen ins Allgäu und nach München zum Oktoberfest angeboten.Besonders freut mich, dass mit diesem Turnier die Hockey Foundation Himalaya Hockey&Kids unterstützt wird.Ich wünsche Ihnen allen nun schöne Spiele und eine gute Zeit in Füssen.

In 2018 we‘re going to attempt to set a Guinnes World Record highest altitude hockey game: We‘ll play our icehockey matches in Himalaya region on the hight of 4,280 meters - which will be the highest place on earth where icehockey has ever been played! We organize this event in coopartion with the Hockey Foundation, which is a charitable non-profi t organization with a global mission to empower under-served youth, promote social change an support community develpoment through hockey.For further information visit http://hockeyfoundation.org or ask Markus Nirschl - and support the Himalaya project by joining our World Record attempt, by sponsoring the Himalaya icehockey teams or by any other kind of donation.

I proudly present to you the greatest icehockey tournament of the year: The 10th Oktoberfest Classics 2017! I am very proud and happy to say, that up until now the Geronimo Stars Team has paricipated in more than 770 international games all over the world.During the past years we did great and met fascinating people all over the world.
With our journeys, we always try to strenghten the connection and the understanding for other countries and cultures - for we all come together in sports and we do this for the 10th this year. We head for Thailand, Australia and New Zealand - just to mention some of our des-tinations. In the Himalaya region we are part of the Hockey Foundation and support local hockey players on a charitable and non-profi t base.

• 40 minutes runningtime - please check playing schedule for details• if a game starts too late, it though has to be fi nished at the time
mentioned in the playing schedule• warm up max. 3 - 5 minutes - if no time left, then NO warm up!• no slapshot (only underneath knee)• no hard contact (referees‘ decision - please do not discuss at the
icerink!)• game win = 2 points, game draw = 1 point• group decision same points = if same points - who shot more goals
Remember: This tournament is a Meet & Greet for hockey players from all over the world. Make new friends and let‘s have fun and make party. Enjoy the beautiful Allgäu area with its lakes, mountains and the wonderful historic city in which this tournament takes place. It‘s all about new friendship - forget hussle-fi ghts!
