School Supplies for 2014-2015

Effective in the 2014-15 school year, insha’Allah, the school will be providing all consumable school supplies for

2014-15 to all students.

This change came about to meet two needs:

1. Our teachers and staff currently spend more time and effort verifying the quality and completeness of the stu-

dents supplies and following up on missing ones. This new procedure will have them put an upfront effort

into ordering and organizing their classroom supplies early on this June but will free them up to teaching dur-

ing the new year.

2. This change was also in response to the stress and high cost that purchasing school supplies has been for par-

ents, and some parents have made that clear to us.

This arrangement works as follows:

• The school has ordered quality school supplies for all students to be used in the school only. Parents might

still need to provide pencils/erasers/sharpeners/.. for home use.

• The school is paying a discounted price for these supplies and parents will end up paying less than what they

normally pay at retail stores.

• Supplies will be delivered to the school in June insha’Allah and staff will organize and prepare these supplies

for their own grades. Each teacher will be providing his/her students what they need when they need it next

year.

• Parents are only required to pay for these supplies at the beginning of the new school year.

• Parents need to purchase personal supplies that are not provided by the school at the beginning of the school

year like dictionaries/ thesauruses, USB flash drives, calcu-

lators, .., etc.. Teachers will provide a short list of supplies

to be used in their classrooms along with the report cards.

Parents’ cost will be:

$70 for Kindergarten, $100 for primary grades, and $110 for ele-

mentary grades.
