Detailed concept for the summer school National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University. Renewable Sources of Energy and Resource Efficiency Summer school The summer school will take place at the International Scientific and Educational Laboratory for Hydrogen Energy Technologies, Institute of Physics and Technology, Tomsk Polytechnic University. The laboratory’s activities are concentrated on priority trends in science, technology and engineering as well as crucial technologies for the Russian Federation: power efficiency and energy saving, including hydrogen energy. The laboratory work is devoted to the advancement of fundamental and applied research in the fields of hydrogen power technologies, material study for hydrogen power technologies, condensed state physics, plasma physics, particle‐beam and plasma technologies in accordance with the world trends and analogues. The summer school’s program is targeted to students of physics and technology from Universities who are particularly interested in the introduction and use of alternative sources of energy and resource‐effective technologies. The Summer School is a two‐week event with 36 unit lessons per week. The program concept includes a mixture of lectures and seminars by experts, self‐study and work in teams, plenum conferences and discussions in a variety of sciences including hydrogen energy, nuclear energy, geothermal energy, particle‐beam and plasma technologies. The program also includes excursions to research laboratories and industrial plants. The main idea of the Summer School project is to create a free international educational space within which students, young researchers and professionals in renewable energy sources can actively exchange information and experiences as well as search for new fields to study. The issue of renewable energy sources is becoming a global one and many benefits could arise from collaboration between different nation states. The program of the summer school is interdisciplinary because, on the one hand, it provides an opportunity to effectively research and gain insight into the state‐of‐the art development in the
