Alphabetisches Verzeichnis der Mitglieder

Die Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademie der Wissenschaften wählt ihre Mitglieder aus dem gesamten Bundesgebiet und aus dem Ausland. Zum Mitglied kann berufen werden, wer sich durch wissenschaftliche Leistungen ausgezeichnet hat. Gewählt werden Ordentliche und Außerordentliche Mitglieder aller Fächer. Von den Ordentlichen Mitgliedern wird aktive Mitgliedschaft erwartet. Nach Vollendung des 68. Lebenjahres werden die Ordentlichen Mitglieder von ihren Pflichten entbunden. Ihre Rechte bestehen mit Aus-nahme des passiven Wahlrechts und des aktiven Wahlrechts bei der Wahl neuer Mitglieder unverändert fort.

Mit der Ehrenmitgliedschaft kann die Akademie Wissen-schaftler auszeichnen, die sich durch ihre Lebensleistung um Wissenschaft oder ihre Anwendung in besonderer Weise verdient gemacht haben.

Der Akademie gehören gegenwärtig 302 Mitglieder an, davon 170 Ordentliche, 66 entpflichtete Ordentliche und 68 Außerordentliche Mitglieder. 120 Mitglieder kommen aus Berlin und Brandenburg, 144 aus anderen Bundesländern und 38 aus dem Ausland. 32 Mitglieder sind Frauen.

Das Durchschnittsalter der nichtentpflichteten Ordent-lichen Mitglieder beträgt 59,05 Jahre.
