YOU MAWO steht für „Your Magic World“, bedeutet übersetzt „deine magische Welt“. Der Name spiegelt auf einmalige Weise unsere Mission sowie unsere Gründungsgeschichte wider.

Die Idee zur Firma entstand vor sechs Jahren auf einer unserer zahlreichen Rucksackreisen. Während einer Reise nach Thailand wurde die Idee an einem einsamen Strand von Kho Phagan geboren. Eines Abends saßen wir gemeinsam an jenem besagten Strand, genossen den Sonnenuntergang und fragten uns dabei, was uns antriebt, immer wieder neue exotische Orte zu bereisen. Unsere Schlussfolgerung war, dass wir fasziniert von der Magie unserer Welt sind, welche so facettenreich und vielseitig ist. Wenn man reist, lernt man neue Menschen, Städte, Tiere, Pflanzen und Kulturen kennen, die alle für sich einzigartig und einmalig sind. Die Welt ist so vielfältig und jeder Mensch ist ein einzigartiges Individuum, aber dennoch konsumieren wir Massenartikel, welche auf die Individualität nicht eingehen.

Insbesondere Brillen, welche mit unserem Gesicht und unserem Charakter verschmelzen, sind nicht individuell. Es gibt zwar eine große Auswahl an Brillen, jedoch ist keine einzig nur für dich!

Dies wollten wir ändern. Wir entwickelten mit viel Schweiß und Leidenschaft über Jahre hinweg eine Lösung, die es erlaubt, für jeden Menschen eine optimale, individuell optimierte Brille anzubieten. Nachdem die Brille von unserem Team optimiert wurde, wird diese mittels additiver Fertigungstechnologie, dem selektiven Lasersintern, individuell in Deutschland gefertigt.

The idea for the company was established 6 years ago on one of our numerous backpacking trips around the world. It was born in Thailand, on a deserted beach of Koh Phangan. One evening whilst relaxing and enjoying the sunset, we wondered what it was that drives us to visit new exotic places. We concluded that it was the magic of our world, which is so versatile and varied. When you travel you get to know new people, cities, animals, plants and cultures, all of which are unique. The world is so diverse and every person is a unique individual but we still consume mass products, which do not respond to the individuality.

In particular, spectacles that merge with our face and character, are not individual. While there is a wide variety of frames available, there is no frame made just for you.

We wanted to change this! We therefore, embarked on a passionate journey, involving a lot of sweat and hard work, to develop a solution that allows us to offer each person an individually optimized frame. Based on a 3D scan of the face eleven parameters of the designer frames can be adjusted to ensure an optimum fit. After our team has optimized the frame, the spectacles are individually manufactured in Germany by using the latest additive manufacturing technology, selective laser sintering.

1. GrunddesignBereits das Grunddesign ist technisch und dynamisch optimiert und basiert auf der Analyse von hunderten von Gesichtern. So fließt die durchschnittliche Gesichtsgeometrie der Zielgruppe in den Designprozess mit ein. Deshalb zeichnen sich bereits unsere Standardbrillen durch eine herausragende Passform aus. Jedoch lässt sich jede Brille der Maßbrillen-Kollektion auf den jeweiligen Träger anpassen.

2. ScanZunächst wird das Gesicht des Kunden mittels eines 3D-Scanners, welcher durch unsere iPad App gesteuert wird, erfasst. Dieser Prozess dauert ca. 30 Sekunden und ist kinderleicht zu bedienen. In einem nächsten Schritt wird der Kunde mit dem gewünschten Brillenmodel fotografiert und weitere Details und Wünsche abgefragt wie z.B. das Brillenmodel, die gewünschte Farbe, die gewünschte Personalisierung im Bügel u.v.m Diese werden in die App eingegeben und die Bestellung anschließend abgeschickt. Diese Informationen werden zusammen mit dem Scan zu uns gesendet.

PROZESS3. MaßanfertigungBasierend auf dem ausgewählten Grunddesign und den Daten wird nun durch modernste Technik und die Erfahrung von unseren Optikermeistern die individuelle Brille angepasst. Um es uns zu ermöglichen, die Brillen in Serie individuell zu erstellen, verwenden wir eigens entwickelte parametrische Designs, die mit professionellster 3D-Software arbeiten. Für Ihre Kunden wird so die Brille individuell auf die Gesichtsform optimiert, unter dem Aspekt, dass der Charakter des Grunddesigns bestmöglich erhalten bleibt. Um den optimalen Tragekomfort zu ermöglichen, werden elf Parameter adaptiert.

4. Individuelle FertigungBasierend auf dem individuell erstellten 3D Modell der Brille wird diese in die Produktion gegeben, welche ebenso wie der Rest 100% made in Germany ist. Die Brille wird nun mittels einem hochmodernen additiven Fertigungsverfahren, der 3D Druck Methode Selektivem Laser Sintering, aus Polyamid gefertigt. Polyamid ist 30% leichter als Acetat, aber gleichzeitig um ein vielfaches stabiler und bestitz ähnliche positive Eigenschaften wie Holz oder Horn.

1. Basic DesignOur basic design is already technically and dynamically optimized and is based on the analysis of hundreds of faces. The average face geometry of the target group is incorporated into our design development process. Therefore, even our standard frames distinguish themselves by an outstanding fit. However every frame of our bespoken collection can be custom tailored to enable an optimal fit.

2. ScanIn the first step, the customer‘s face is scanned with a 3D scanner, which is controlled by our iPad app. This process takes about 30 seconds and is very easy. In the next step, a picture of the customer wearing the desired frame is taken. Further details and requests, such as the spectacle model, the color, the desired personalization in the temples etc. are entered into the app before placing the order.

3. CustomizationOur German master opticians will adapt your chosen design with the help of the latest technology, to create your customer´s individual frame. To enable us to create the glasses individually in series, we use specially developed parametric designs that work with the most professional 3D software. The spectacles for your customers are individually optimized to the face geometry, while maintaining the character of the basic design. To allow optimum comfort, eleven parameters are adapted.

4. Individual productionThe custom created 3D models of your customer´s frame are individually manufactured in Germany. The manufacturing, like the rest of our work, is 100% made in Germany. All frames are manufactured out of polyamide by using a highly advanced additive manufacturing process, a 3D printing method called selective laser sintering. Polyamide is 30% lighter than acetate and is much more stable. It also has the positive properties of natural materials such as wood and horn.

INNOVATIVE.INDIVIDUAL_DESIGN. A timeless design in a modern shell characterized by clear lines and fine edges. A harmonic combination of design and comfort coupled with the latest technology. The just 14 grams light frame is made out of polyamide and is equipped with a specially developed single flex hinge. Self-created algorithms allow us to adapt the design individually to each customer without changing the character of the design and thus the design language of YOU MAWO.

Each YOU MAWO frame is available in the colors shown below. The colors correspond to the natural tones of earth, water, wood, flowers and mountains. Our frames go through our special surface processing and finishing, a distinctive visual and tactile touch.

Inspiriert durch - AsamaAuf der japanischen Insel Honshū liegt der aktivste Vulkan Asama. Mit 2.568m liegt er rund 150 Kilometer nordwestlich von Tokio.Über die Erstbesteigung des Gipfels ist nichts bekannt.Aus dem Jahr 1108 und 1738 sind besonders starke Eruptionen und Ausbrüche des Vulkans bekannt.

Inspired by - AsamaOn the Japanese island of Honshu is the most active volcano Asama. With 2.568m it lies approximately 150 kilometers northwest of Tokyo. The first ascent of the summit is not known. Particularly strong flares and eruptions of the volcano are known from the year 1108 and 1738.

Inspired by - LaninLanin is a 3.747m high extinct volcano. It is the most beautiful mountain in Argentina. Inspiriert durch - TrivorIn einer Bergkette im westlichen Karakorum (Pakistan) erhebt sich mit 7.577m der Trivor. Am 17. August 1960 gelang Wilfrid Noyce und Jack Sadler die Erstbesteigung.Bis jetzt erreichten nur zwei Expeditionen den Gipfel des Berges.

Inspiriert durch - SäntisSäntis ist der höchste Berg des Alpsteins und ist mit seinen 2.502m ein von weit aus sichtbarer Berg.Der genaue Zeitpunkt der Erstbesteigung ist nicht gesichert, doch sollen um 1680 zwei Geistliche und ein Naturforscher den Säntis bestiegen haben.Vom Gipfel aus kann man in sechs Länder blicken: Schweiz, Deutschland, Österreich, Lichtenstein, Frankreich und Italien.

Inspiriert durch - Kandel1.241m und somit die höchste Erhebung im mittleren Schwarzwald und der Hausberg der Stadt Waldkirch.Kandel ist zwar wunderschön, aber sehr leicht zu besteigen, dass es niemand aufgeschrieben hat.Er wird auch als ein Fürst unter den Schwarzwaldbergen bezeichnet. Wie eine massive Bastion erhebt sich der Kandel über der Rheinebene.

Kandel is indeed beautiful but so easy to climb that no one has documented its ascend. It is also known as a prince among the Black Forest mountains. Kandel rises as a massive bastion over the Rhine valley.

Inspiriert durch - EnnisDie Stadt liegt am Fluss Fergus, nordwestlich von Limerick und hat 20.209 Einwohner. Der irische Name ist eine Abkürzung von Inis Cluain Ramh Fhada – Weite fließende Wieseninsel. Ennis hat sich zum Zentrum der traditionellen Irischen Musik entwickelt.

Inspiriert durch - EllaElla ist die Endstation des wunderschönen Panoramazuges von Kandy durch die Teeplantagen im Hochland von Sri Lanka. Das kleine Dorf ist beliebt für Individual-Reisende und Wanderer.

Inspiriert durch - BomiBomi ist ein Verwaltungsgebiet im autonomen Gebiet Tibet. Im Gebiet Bomi leben ca. 27.169 Einwohner. Bomi ist ein Zentrum uralter tibetischer Kultur und hat bis in das 20. Jahrhundert seine Unabhängigkeit bewahrt.

Inspiriert durch - LarvikDie kleine Stadt Larvik liegt im südlichen Norwegen. 43.846 Einwohner leben in der Kleinstadt, die schon vor ca. 10.000 Jahren in der Steinzeit als Siedlungsgebiet bekannt war. Larvik ist aufgrund seiner natürlichen Mineralquellen als Kurort sehr beliebt.

Inspired by - EllaElla is the terminus of the panoramic train from Kandy through the tea plantations in the highlands of Sri Lanka. The small village is popular for individual travelers and hikers.

Inspired by - BomiBomi is an administrative area in the Tibet autonomous Region. Around 27.169 inhabitants live in the Bomi area. Bomi is a center of ancient Tibetan culture and has until the 20th century preserved its independence.
