So it’s no surprise that thechoice of materials is equally exoticand sophisticated. Fine wools, silksand chenille yarns all feature promi-nently, with metallic lurex yarns wor-ked into the weave to give a glittereffect. Pattern designs for rugs, fitted carpets and resilient floor coverings feature rich mosaics, baroque floral motifs and lavish ornamentation. Antique patterns, often referencing old wall frescoesand Gobelin tapestry motifs, harkback to the distant past.

Auf der DOMOTEX 2013 stellen die Herstellervon handgefertigten Teppichen im Hallen-

komplex 14 bis 17 aus. Um den Besuchern dieOrientierung zu erleichtern, sind die Hallen klarstrukturiert: Designer- und moderne Teppiche sinddabei in Halle 17 zu finden. Ab Halle 16 gibt esdie Neuheiten der klassischen Teppiche zu sehen.Im östlichen Teil der Hallen 14 und 15 sind die internationalen Gemeinschaftsstände zu finden.

NEW HALL LAYOUTAt DOMOTEX 2013 manufacturers ofhand-made carpets and rugs will be exhibi-ting their products in Halls 14 to 17. Theexhibits are grouped together by theme tomake it easier for visitors to find their wayaround. Designer rugs and modern rugsand carpets can be found in Hall 17. The latest in traditional carpet designs can beseen in Hall 16. Located at the eastern endof Halls 14 and 15 are the various inter -national group displays.

Bereits zum achten Mal wird auf der DOMOTEX 2013 der Carpet DesignAward in insgesamt zehn Kategorien verliehen. Die Auszeichnung setztweltweite Maßstäbe in Bezug auf Qualität und Design handgefertigterTeppiche. „Edle handgeknüpfte Teppiche sind Gemälde für den Boden“,konstatiert Jurorin Nina Yashar, Mailänder Galeristin. The Carpet Design Awards will be presented for the eighth time at DOMO-TEX 2013 in a total of 10 categories. The Awards set new global standardsfor quality and design in hand-made carpets and rugs. “High-quality hand-knotted rugs are pieces of floor art“, says jury member Nina Yashar, whoruns a gallery in Milan.

Im Rahmen des DOMOTEX-Schwerpunktthemas „Flooring Deluxe“ wer-den Premium-Bodenbeläge aus den Bereichen Teppichboden, Parkett und

Laminat präsentiert. Hierzu wird eigens eine Sonderfläche für Teppich -böden in Halle 6 und für Laminat und Parkett in Halle 9 geschaffen.The special feature display “Flooring Deluxe” at next year’s DOMOTEX will

showcase an array of premium floor coverings, with the focus on fitted carpets,wood parquet and laminate floorings. The carpets get their own dedicated dis-play area in Hall 6, while parquet and laminates will be presented in Hall 9.
