There is a cloakroom close to the conference office which will be staffed only during lectures in the auditoriummaximum. Alle Vortragenden einerSektion werden gebeten, ihre PowerPoint-Präsentationen so früh wie möglich, spätestens jedoch in derPause vor dem Vortragstermin bei dem/der Technik-Verantwortlichen für den jeweiligen Hörsaal abzugeben.

By logistic reasons there will be no central IT-point. We therefore kindly ask all speakers of a session toupload their presentations on the computer in the pertaining lecture hall as early as possible, at latest in thecoffee or lunch break preceeding the actual presentation time.

Poster-Präsentation / Poster presentation

Die Präsentation der Poster erfolgt im Senatssaal (siehe Gebäudeplan). Jedem Poster ist eineSektionsnummer und eine laufende Nummer zugeordnet. Die Poster können am Dienstag, 22.3., ab 10.30Uhr aufgehängt werden. Der Senatssaal ist zugänglich zu folgenden Zeiten: • Dienstag, 22.3., 10.30–18.30 Uhr mit Postersession von 16.00–18.00 Uhr • Mittwoch, 23.3., 10.30–18.30 Uhr• Donnerstag, 24.3., 8.00–12.00 Uhr.Die Poster sollten spätestens am Donnerstag vor 12 Uhr abgehängt werden. Poster, die bis zu diesemZeitpunkt nicht abgenommen wurden, müssen leider entsorgt werden. Wir bitten die Autoren, während derPostersession am Dienstag an ihrem Poster anwesend zu sein.

Poster presentation will take place in the senate's hall ("Senatssaal", see building layout). Each poster will beassigned a section number and a running number. Please put up posters on Tuesday, March 22, after 10.30a.m. The Senatssaal will be accessible during the following times: • Tuesday, March 22, 10.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. including the Poster Session at 4.00–6.00 p.m. • Wednesday, March 23, 10.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m.• Thursday, March 24, 8.00 to 12.00 a.m.Posters should be removed latest on Thursday before 12 a.m. Remaining posters will be disposed of. Ice-Breaker

Der Ice-Breaker wird am Montag, den 21.3. von 19.30–22.00 Uhr im Obergeschoss des Mensa Zeltesstattfinden (Innenhof HU-Hauptgebäude, S. 9). Es werden Getränke und Snacks angeboten. Fürangemeldete Teilnehmer/innen der Entomologentagung sind die Kosten in der Tagungsgebühr enthalten.Zusätzlich bietet eine mobile Cocktailbar „entomologische“ Cocktails an (www.berlin-cocktails.de, 3–4 ). ImRahmen des Ice-Breakers wird das Künstlerpaar Sabine Schäfer und Joachim Krebs ein Insekten-Soundmilieu aus ihrer Werkreihe „MicroSonical Shining Biospheres“ vorstellen (www.sajo-art.de).

The ice-breaker party will take place on Monday, March 21, from 7.30–10 p.m. in the upper floor of the Mensatent in the courtyard of the main building of the Humboldt University (p. 9). Drinks and snacks will be provided– free of charge for those who have regularly registered for the Entomology Congress. Jonas Eberle (Laudator: Prof. Dr. R. Gerstmeier) durch den Präsidentender DGaaE, Herrn Prof. Dr. G. Moritz.

The meeting of members of the society will take place on Wednesday, March 23, 4.10–6.30 p.m. in lecturehall 2002 (main building of the Humboldt-University). During the meeting, the Meigen-Medal will be awardedto Dr. Walter Steinhausen (laudation by Prof. Dr. B. Klausnitzer) und the Weiss-Wiehe-Award to Dipl.-Biol.Jonas Eberle (laudation by Prof. Dr. R. Kaffee, Tee, Kaltgetränke und Snacks werden im Hauptgebäude der Humboldt-Universität (Foyer desAuditorium maximum) sowie im Seminargebäude Dorotheenstr. 24 (Haus 1) vor den Hörsälen im 1.Obergeschoss angeboten (Dienstag vormittags, Mittwoch vor- und nachmittags, Donnerstag vormittags). AmMontag Nachmittag werden die Erfrischungen im Foyer des Auditorium maximum angeboten, am DienstagNachmittag parallel zur Postersession und zwar vor dem Senatssaal, in dem die Postersession stattfindet.

Coffee, tea, cold drinks and snacks will be offered in the foyer of the Auditorium maximum as well as in frontof the lecture halls on the 1st floor of the Seminar building in Dorotheenstr. 24 (building 1): Tuesday morning,Wedneday morning and afternoon, Thursday morning. On Monday afternoon the coffee break will take placein the foyer of the Auditorium maximum, and on Tuesday afternoon coffee and refreshments are served justoutside the senate's hall at the time of and parallel to the poster session.

Mittagspause / Lunch breaks

• Mensa Coupons: Da die Mittagspause vergleichsweise kurz ist, empfehlen wir, das Mittagessen in derMensa Süd einzunehmen (Zelt im Hof des Hauptgebäudes der Humboldt-Universität, S. 9). Normalerweisebenötigt man dazu eine wiederaufladbare „Mensacard“. Um längere Wartezeiten zu vermeiden, wird dasStudentenwerk am Montag (9–13 Uhr, 15–16 Uhr) Essenscoupons beim Kongressbüro verkaufen (nurBarzahlung). Kosten für ein dreigängiges Menü (Salat vom Büffet, 1 Hauptgericht, 1 Dessert vom Büffet, 1Getränk): 8.95 . Bei Abnahme von 4 Coupons gilt ein Rabattpreis von 30.00 .• Restaurant „12 Apostel“ (Italienische Küche), Georgenstraße 2, unter den S-Bahnbögen. • Mensa Coupons: With 1.5 hours, lunch breaks are comparatively short. We therefore recommend to takelunch in the Mensa (currently housed in the tent in the courtyard of Humboldt-University main building, p. 9).The usual way of payment is with a re-chargable "Mensa Card" (no cash accepted). To avoid queueing up,the Students' Association has kindly offered to sell coupons for a 3 course meal at the conference registrationdesk on Monday (9 a.m.–1 p.m. and 3–4 p.m., cash only). A single coupon for a 3 course meal (1 starter atthe salad bar, 1 main course, 1 dessert, 1 drink) is 8.95 . If you decide to take lunch during all four days, theMensa offers 4 coupons at a special rate of 30.00 . • Restaurant "12 Apostel" (Italian cuisine), Georgenstraße 2, S-Bahn-viaduct. There, a lunch special isavailable for ca. 100 conference participants from Tuesday through Thursday (6.95 ). If you decide for thisoption, please register during the previous day – a list will be provided at the conference office. Please beaware that the restaurant does not accept credit cards. EC-cards are accepted, but for the sake of efficiencywe recommend to pay in cash.• "Cum Laude" Restaurant, situated in the western wing of the main building (see building layout, p. 8),where ca 70 seats are reserved for conference participants• Cafeteria ("Säulenmensa") on the ground floor of the main building's east wing, with a small selection ofsandwiches and sweets. Für die Zeit zwischen 18 und 20 Uhr können Plätze im Restaurant „12 Apostel“ reserviert werden (max. 120Personen). Bitte bis spätestens zur Mittagspause am Dienstag in die entsprechende Liste eintragen, die imKongressbüro ausliegt. Dort kann auch die Speisekarte eingesehen werden. Weitere Möglichkeiten: zahlreiche Restaurants am Hacke'schen Markt und in der Oranienburger Straße, ca.10–15 Gehminuten von der Humboldt-Universität (siehe Stadtplan).

Reservations (max. 120 seats) can be made for dinner on Tuesday night 6–8 p.m. at the restaurant "12Apostel". If you wish to take your dinner there, please sign up in the pertaining list at the conference officewhere you can also consult the menu for information, at latest during lunchbreak on Tuesday. Further options: Numerous restaurants around "Hacke'scher Markt" and in Oranienburger Straße, ca. 10–15minutes walk from Humboldt-University (see city map).

For our foreign guests: In Germany, it is considered polite to give a tip (around 10%) if you were satisfied withthe meal and the service.

In the immediate vicinity of Humboldt University's main building there are numerous cafés, bars, restaurants,e.g., underneath the S-Bahn tracks in Dorotheenstraße (e.g., Deponie, Chagall, 12 Apostel). More bars andrestaurants you will find at Hacke'scher Markt and in Oranienburger Straße as well as in the Nikolai-Viertel(e.g., St Georg microbrewery, where you can drink beer "by the meter"). Weitere Sehenswürdigkeiten / Other sites of interestAuf einem ca. 3 km langen Spaziergang zwischen Brandenburger Tor und dem Alexanderplatz, entlang derFlaniermeile „Unter den Linden“ können Sie einige der bekanntesten Sehenswürdigkeiten Berlinskennenlernen. Der frühere Verlauf der Berliner Mauer ist westlich des Brandenburger Tors auf dem Bodenmarkiert. Südlich des Brandenburger Tors befindet sich das aus mehr als 1.000 Zementblöcken bestehendeHolocaust Memorial von Peter Eisenmann, eine Erinnerung an die dunkelste Phase deutscher Geschichte(www.holocaust-denk-mal-berlin.de ).Die Berliner Mauer ist aus dem Stadtbild weitgehend verschwunden, Reste können noch an verschiedenenStellen besichtigt werden, z.B. an der Berliner Mauer-Gedenkstätte Berliner Mauer in der Bernauer Straße(nahe der S-Bahn-Station „Nordbahnhof“, S1). To see some of Berlin's major historic places, a ca 3 km long walk starting from Brandenburg Gate along thewide boulevard "Unter den Linden" to Alexanderplatz is recommended. The former location of the Berlin Wall(west of Brandenburg Gate) is marked on the ground. Just south of Brandenburg Gate you will find a largefield with more than 1,000 concrete blocks which make the Holocaust Memorial designed by PeterEisenmann, a reminder of Germany's darkest period (www.holocaust-denkmal.berlin.de). The Berlin Wall has largely disappeared, however, remnants can be seen, e.g., at the Berlin Wall Memorial inBernauer Straße (close to S-Bahn-station "Nordbahnhof", S1).
