The journal Indiana is a forum for everyone involved in researching the indigenous and multiethnic societies and cultures of Latin America and the Caribbean, both present and past. It brings together articles from all fields of Amerindian studies, including archaeology, ethnohistory, ethnolinguistics, as well as cultural and social anthropology. Essays on methodological and theoretical issues are also welcome.

Indiana was founded in 1973 within the tradition of Americanist Studies as developed by Eduard Seler and Max Uhle, among others.Each issue features articles on different topics, a dossier with articles on a specific subject, as well as book reviews.

Indiana publishes original articles and essays in Spanish,

Portuguese, English and German. All submissions

undergo an anonymous peer review procedure. Texts

should not be longer than 70,000 characters (with

spaces; including figures, footnotes and a bibliography.

La revista Indiana es un foro para investigaciones sobre las antiguas y actuales sociedades y culturas indígenas y multiétnicas de América Latina y el Caribe. Reúne contribuciones de todas las áreas de los estudios americanistas, incluyendo la arqueología, etnohistoria, antropología cultural y social y la etnolingüística. También se publican contribuciones sobre preguntas metodológicas y teóricas.

Indiana fue fundada en 1973 por Gerd Kutscher siguiendo la tradición de las investigaciones americanistas de Eduard Seler, Max Uhle y otros. Cada número contiene textos sobre temas variados, un dossier dedicado a un tema especial y reseñas temáticas.

Indiana publica artículos y ensayos inéditos en

español, portugués, inglés y alemán, los cuales

previamente deben pasar por un proceso de

evaluación anónima. Las contribuciones no deben

superar los 70.000 caracteres incluidos los espacios

en blanco, las referencias, notas y tablas/figuras.

The monographs and essay collections in the Estudios Indiana series present the results of research into the indigenous and multiethnic societies and cultures of Latin America and the Caribbean, both past and present. The range of topics encompasses all fields of Amerindian studies, including archaeology, ethnohistory, ethnolinguistics, as well as cultural and linguistic anthropology.
