Um in solchen Texten die ge-wünschten Informationen aufzufinden, müssen die Schüler bestimmte Lesetechniken beherrschen. Hier sollen sie den Text zum Teil nur „scannen“, d. h. ausgehend von sogenannten Signalwörtern in der Aufgabenstellung (z. B. „non-smoking“ in Nr. 4) gezielt nach Informationen suchen.
