O traço arquitectónico de Jasper Polak & Silke Roerig, da

123DV, materializou o sonho de ter o mar no horizonte, ain-

da que o lote não fosse na primeira linha da praia. Nasceu a

Cool Blue Villa, em Marbella, Espanha, a dois passos do Mar

Mediterrâneo. Tão contemporânea como bem orientada e

tão aberta ao exterior como salvaguardando a privacidade,

a Cool Blue Villa é uma casa moderna, confortável e com os

olhos postos no oceano.

The architectural design by Jasper Polak & Silke Roerig,

from 123DV, brought to life the dream of having the sea on

the horizon, despite the plot not being right on the beach-

front. The result is the Cool Blue Villa, in Marbella, Spain, a

stone’s throw from the Mediterranean Sea. As contempo-

rary as it is well positioned, and as open to the outside as

it is protective of privacy, the Cool Blue Villa is a modern,

comfortable house, with its sights clearly set on the sea.

A localização estratégica dos seis quartos no último piso

do edifício, para que todos pudessem beneficiar das paisa-

gens, sem descurar a privacidade, fazia parte das preten-

sões dos proprietários. Aliás, a privacidade é notória logo

na fachada virada para a rua, que parece recuada, mas a

atmosfera defensiva cai por terra quando o portão se abre

e um jogo de reflexos e transparências causa assombro.

Um enorme terraço parece emoldurado por vidro e refle-

xos de água: a água da piscina com paredes de vidro e a de

um canal que flui ao longo da área social.

Por detrás do terraço, no

interior, evidenciam-se uma

grande cozinha, com uma

ilha central triangular, e um

salão com áreas demarcadas,

separadas por uma parede

em forma de triângulo inver-

tido, seguindo as linhas da

habitação. O design minima-

lista combina materiais limpos, como o vidro e o aço, com

materiais quentes e orgânicos, como madeira e pedra na-

tural. Todos os dispositivos podem ser operados por smar-

tphones ou tablets. Mesmo as luzes LED na fachada, que

brilham na noite através de fendas verticais.

Cool Blue é uma villa para férias, mas poder-se-á trans-

formar numa casa para a vida, é requintada, abraçada pela

água e ladeada pelo mar.

The strategic placement of the six bedrooms on the top

floor of the building, so that they can all reap the benefits of

the scenery, without neglecting privacy, was a part of the

owners’ brief. Indeed, privacy is a clear intention right from

the façade facing the road, which seems as if set back,

yet this defensive feel soon disappears when the gate

is opened and you are met by an array of reflections and

transparent surfaces. A huge terrace seems to be framed

by glass and water reflections: the water in the swimming

pool with its glass walls and the water of a channel flowing

along the social area.

Behind the terrace, inside

the villa, highlights include

a large kitchen, with a tri-

angular central island, and

a living room with demar-

cated areas, separated by

a wall in the shape of an

inverted triangle, following

the lines of the property. The minimalist design combines

clean materials, such as glass and steel, with warm and

organic materials, such as wood and natural stone. Every

device in the house can be operated via smartphones or

tablets. Even the LED lighting on the façade, which shines

at night through vertical slits.

Cool Blue is a holiday villa, but it could be transformed

into a home for life, is refined, embraced by water and

flanked by the sea.
