Märkte Bei bester Laune trafen sich die europäischen Hersteller von Kunststoff- und Gummimaschi-nen zur Generalversammlung des europäischen Dachverbands Euro map in Linz.Grund der positiven Stimmung: Seit 2009 legte die Produktion der europäischen Kunststoff- und Gummimaschinenbauer auf ge-schätzte 15,3 Mrd. EUR zu. Damit hat sich die Produktion in den letzten acht Jahren mit einem Plus
von 99 % praktisch verdoppelt. Im Jahr 2017 wuchs die Euromap-Produktion sogar überdurch-schnittlich. Während weltweit um 4 % mehr Kunststoff- und Gummi-maschinen produziert wurden, erreichten die europäischen Her-steller ein Plus von 7 %.Die deutschen Produzenten liegen zwar im Jahr 2017 mit einem Wachstum von 4,1 % auf 7,7 Mrd. EUR unter dem europäischen Durchschnitt, sind aber bei den
Zukunftsaussichten optimisti-scher. So erwartet der VDMA Fachverband Kunststoff- und Gummimaschinen für das laufen-de Jahr ein Wachstum um 3 %. Euromap rechnet für die europä-ischen Hersteller für 2018 mit einem Umsatzplus von 2 %.Für den neu gewählten Euromap-Präsidenten Luciano Anceschi vom italienischen Hersteller Tria ist „die enge Zusammenarbeit auf europäischer Ebene für die Her-
steller von Kunststoff- und Gum-mimaschinen enorm wichtig, wenn es um die Bewältigung zen-traler Themen wie Industrie 4.0 oder Circular Economy geht“.Im Rahmen der Generalversamm-lung wurden zudem Michael Bau-meister von Brückner Maschinen-bau als Vizepräsident und Thors-ten Kühmann vom VDMA als Generalsekretär gewählt. Der Weltmarkt für elektrisch ange-triebene Fahrzeuge bommt. Einer aktuellen Marktstudie von Markets and Markets zufolge soll er in den kommenden Jahren jährlich um 32,6 % anwachsen. Das bedeutet, dass bis 2025 jährlich rund 10,8 Mio. Elektro-fahrzeuge verkauft werden sollen. Im Jahr 2018 liegt die Zahl den Analysten zufolge bei 1,5 Mio. Einheiten.Wichtigstes Segment seien rein elek-trisch angetriebene Personenwagen. Getrieben werde das Marktwachstum vor allem durch günstiger werdende Preise. Diese kommen zum einen zustande durch geringer werdende Produktionskosten, etwa bei Akkus, aber auch durch eine wachsende Zahl von staatlichen Förderangeboten.

Rekordumsatz in 2017 weiteres Wachstum Automatisierung Die Robotik und Automation in Deutschland hat 2017 das Rekord-Umsatzvolumen von 14,5 Mrd. EUR erreicht – ein Plus von 13 % im Vergleich zum Vorjahr. „2017 war für unsere Industrie ein sehr starkes Jahr“, sagt Dr. Norbert Stein, Vorsitzen-der des Vorstands von VDMA Robotik + Automation. „Schon im Jahresverlauf erhöhten wir unsere Prognose deutlich. Dass unsere Erwartungen nun erneut über-troffen wurden, zeugt von der außerordentlichen Marktdyna-mik in der Automatisierung. Zwi-schen 2010 und 2017 wuchs die Branche im Durchschnitt um zehn Prozent jährlich und verdoppelte in diesem Zeitraum nahezu ihren Umsatz.“Hauptwachstumstreiber 2017 war der Export – insbesondere nach Asien. Der Exportumsatz nach China wuchs um rund 60 % gegen-über 2016. Damit baute China seine Stellung als wichtigster
Markt für die Robotik und Auto-mation deutlich aus.Prognosen ergeben zudem, dass der weltweite Trend zur Automati-sierung und die Digitalisierung der Fertigung für anhaltende Wachstumsimpulse sorgen. Auto-hersteller und Zulieferer investie-ren verstärkt in Elektro- und Hyb-ridantriebe. Die benötigten Kom-ponenten erfordern neue Ferti-gungsanlagen. Die Automati-sierung der Elektronikindustrie wird 2018 weitere Wachstums-dynamik generieren. Die unge-wöhnlich starke Nachfrage nach Technologien der Robotik und Automation im Jahr 2017 verlän-gerte die Lieferzeiten für Systeme und wird den Umsatz noch weit bis in das Jahr 2018 positiv beein-flussen. Trotz protektionistischer Tendenzen und makroökonomi-scher Risiken rechnet der Verband für 2018 mit einem Wachstum von 9 % auf 15,8 Mrd. EUR. SL

Durch die Identifi kation von Zukunftsthemen und eine intensive Zusammenarbeit der Akteure zur Erschließung weltweiter Leit-märkte wird in den Clustern eine besondere Innovations- und Wachstumsdynamik ausgelöst.

Sonderbeilage mit TraditionDas Special zum „Kunststoffland Nordrhein-Westfalen“ – ein Titel für diese Sonderbeilage der K-ZEITUNG, der nicht zufällig gewählt, sondern eine Reminiszenz an die enge Zusammenarbeit der Redaktion mit der Geschäftsführung und Kommunikationsabteilung des Vereins kunststoffland NRW in Düsseldorf ist – hat Tradition.Das Bundesland an Rhein und Ruhr ist neben dem Süden der Republik mit Bayern und Baden-Württemberg bedeu-tendster Standort für die deutsche Kunststoff- und Kaut-schukindustrie. Hier sind Global Player wie Bayer und Lanxess zu Hause, hier erwirtschaftet eine nahtlos vernetz-te Wertschöpfungskette aus Rohstofferzeugern, Kunststoff- und Gummimaschinen- und Anlagenbauern, Kunststoff-verarbeitern und Peripheriegeräteherstellern rund ein Fünftel der Umsätze in der deutschen Kunststoffindustrie. Darüber hinaus tüfteln namhafte wissenschaftliche Insti-tute und universitäre Einrichtungen an Lösungen und In-novationen für den Werkstoff des 21. Die diesjährige Fakuma in Fried-richshafen führt wieder ein-drucksvoll vor Augen: Zahlrei-che Aussteller stammen aus dem Kunststoff land Nordrhein-Westfalen. Darunter finden sich auch immer mehr mittelständi-sche Kunststoffverarbeiter. Sie sind oft weniger bekannt, trotz-dem nehmen sie innerhalb der Wertschöpfungskette Kunststoff eine Schlüsselstellung ein. Nicht nur, weil sie wichtige Kunden der Großen sind, sondern vor allem, weil sie die eigentliche Brücke in Richtung zahlreicher Anwen-derindustrien bilden. Mobilität, Energie, Bau – hier liegen unse-re gemeinsamen Zukunftsmärk-te. Überzeugende Lösungen lassen sich für diese anspruchs-vollen Märkte kaum noch allei-ne entwickeln, geschweige denn umsetzen. Im Gegenteil: Die wachsende Komplexität der Auf-gabenstellungen ebenso wie die ständig steigende Innovations-dynamik verlangen mehr denn je eine gute Zusammenarbeit. Deshalb: Wer heute noch glaubt, auf aktive Beteiligung an Netz-werken verzichten zu können, stellt sich auf Dauer klar ins Abseits! Allerdings gilt es sorg-fältig zu sortieren, wo und vor allem mit wem Unternehmen vertrauensvoll zusammenarbei-ten können und wollen. In Nordrhein-Westfalen sehe ich
unseren Verein kunststoffland NRW hierbei klar in der Pole-position: starke und dauerhaft engagierte Mitglieder der gesam-ten Wertschöpfungskette, ver-trauensvolle Kontakte zur Lan-despolitik sowie eine hochpro-fessionelle Geschäftsstelle, die dienstleistungsorientiert die Bedürfnisse der Mitglieder auf-greift. Dies sind Pluspunkte, die noch viel mehr Unternehmen aus NRW nutzen sollten! Dass dies mit geballter Kraft deutlich besser klappt als allein, davon sind alle Mitmacher hier bereits überzeugt. Bleibt zu hoffen, dass sich diese Einsicht bei noch mehr Unternehmen durchsetzt: Nur gemeinsam sind wir stark, ma-chen auch Sie mit bei kunststoff-land NRW e.V.!

Strukturwandel Kunststoff ist der Werkstoff des 21. Jahrhunderts. Kunststoffe begleiten unser Leben und prägen unsere Umgebung: im Privaten, im Alltag und im Beruf. Kaum ein Produkt oder Objekt, das nicht zumindest Anteile von Kunst-stoffen enthält, kaum eine Branche, die nicht mithilfe von kunststoff-technisch erzeugten Instrumenten und Verfahren produziert, kaum ein Berufszweig, der nicht in irgendeiner Art und Weise mit Kunststoffen in Berührung steht.
Ein Fünftel des BIP
Auch im flächengrößten Bundesland der Republik spielt die Kunststoff- und Kautschukindustrie eine ent-scheidende Rolle. Nach den neuen IT.NRW-Daten (Stand 2012) erwirt-schaften 960 Betriebe mit insgesamt 116.467 Beschäftigten einen Jahres-umsatz von 35,7 Mrd. EUR. Der Anteil der nordrhein-westfälischen Kunststoffindustrie an Gesamt-deutschland beläuft sich auf jeweils rund ein Fünftel beziehungsweise ein Viertel. Mit 22,5 Mrd. EUR ex-portieren nordrhein-westfälische Unternehmen etwa die Hälfte ihrer Produkte und Dienstleistungen ins Ausland. Der Exportanteil an den gesamtdeutschen Ausfuhren der Kunststoffindustrie beträgt ebenso etwa ein Fünftel. Mit 15,4 Mrd. EUR importiert das Bundesland wieder-um rund ein Fünftel aller Kunst-stoffprodukte aus dem Ausland.Damit wird deutlich, wie groß die Bedeutung der Kunststoffindustrie
an Rhein und Ruhr mittlerweile ist. Nordrhein-Westfalen ist neben der „Südschiene“, den Bundesländern Bayern und Baden-Württemberg, zum wichtigsten Standort der Bran-che in Deutschland aufgestiegen. Das betont auch der Verein kunststoff-land NRW, mit dem in Zusammen-arbeit ein großer Teil dieses Specials entstanden ist.Wie wichtig die Kunststoffindustrie für Nordrhein-Westfalen ist, zeigt ein Blick in die Wirtschaftsgeschich-te des Bundeslands. Schwer gebeutelt von den Folgen der Monostruktur durch die Fokussierung auf die Er-zeugung von Kohle und Stahl seit Ende der 60er-Jahre, kämpft NRW bis heute mit erheblichen Struktur-problemen. Die Transformation vom „Hochofen der Republik“, der ent-scheidend zum „Wirtschaftswun-der“ in der Bundesrepublik beige-tragen hatte, zu einer Dienstleis-tungs- und Wissensgesellschaft – zum Beispiel auch mit dem durch immense öffentliche Gelder geför-derten Aufbau von Technologiezen-tren als Keimzellen für den Tech-nologietransfer der Wissenschaft in die Wirtschaft – ist noch immer nicht beendet. Zu komplex und zu groß war die Konzentration der regiona-len Ökonomie auf die Montanindus-trie. Gleichwohl war das Land nach Angaben des Statistischen Bundes-amts mit knapp 600 Mrd. Märkte Bei bester Laune trafen sich die europäischen Hersteller von Kunststoff- und Gummimaschi-nen zur Generalversammlung des europäischen Dachverbands Euro map in Linz.Grund der positiven Stimmung: Seit 2009 legte die Produktion der europäischen Kunststoff- und Gummimaschinenbauer auf ge-schätzte 15,3 Mrd. EUR zu. Damit hat sich die Produktion in den letzten acht Jahren mit einem Plus
von 99 % praktisch verdoppelt. Im Jahr 2017 wuchs die Euromap-Produktion sogar überdurch-schnittlich. Während weltweit um 4 % mehr Kunststoff- und Gummi-maschinen produziert wurden, erreichten die europäischen Her-steller ein Plus von 7 %.Die deutschen Produzenten liegen zwar im Jahr 2017 mit einem Wachstum von 4,1 % auf 7,7 Mrd. EUR unter dem europäischen Durchschnitt, sind aber bei den
Zukunftsaussichten optimisti-scher. So erwartet der VDMA Fachverband Kunststoff- und Gummimaschinen für das laufen-de Jahr ein Wachstum um 3 %. Euromap rechnet für die europä-ischen Hersteller für 2018 mit einem Umsatzplus von 2 %.Für den neu gewählten Euromap-Präsidenten Luciano Anceschi vom italienischen Hersteller Tria ist „die enge Zusammenarbeit auf europäischer Ebene für die Her-

Der Weltmarkt für elektrisch ange-triebene Fahrzeuge bommt. Einer aktuellen Marktstudie von Markets and Markets zufolge soll er in den kommenden Jahren jährlich um 32,6 % anwachsen. Das bedeutet, dass bis 2025 jährlich rund 10,8 Mio. Elektro-fahrzeuge verkauft werden sollen. Im Jahr 2018 liegt die Zahl den Analysten zufolge bei 1,5 Mio. Einheiten.Wichtigstes Segment seien rein elek-trisch angetriebene Personenwagen. Getrieben werde das Marktwachstum vor allem durch günstiger werdende Preise. Diese kommen zum einen zustande durch geringer werdende Produktionskosten, etwa bei Akkus, aber auch durch eine wachsende Zahl von staatlichen Förderangeboten.

Rekordumsatz in 2017 weiteres Wachstum Automatisierung Die Robotik und Automation in Deutschland hat 2017 das Rekord-Umsatzvolumen von 14,5 Mrd. EUR erreicht – ein Plus von 13 % im Vergleich zum Vorjahr. „2017 war für unsere Industrie ein sehr starkes Jahr“, sagt Dr. Norbert Stein, Vorsitzen-der des Vorstands von VDMA Robotik + Automation. „Schon im Jahresverlauf erhöhten wir unsere Prognose deutlich. Dass unsere Erwartungen nun erneut über-troffen wurden, zeugt von der außerordentlichen Marktdyna-mik in der Automatisierung. Zwi-schen 2010 und 2017 wuchs die Branche im Durchschnitt um zehn Prozent jährlich und verdoppelte in diesem Zeitraum nahezu ihren Umsatz.“Hauptwachstumstreiber 2017 war der Export – insbesondere nach Asien. Der Exportumsatz nach China wuchs um rund 60 % gegen-über 2016. Damit baute China seine Stellung als wichtigster
Markt für die Robotik und Auto-mation deutlich aus.Prognosen ergeben zudem, dass der weltweite Trend zur Automati-sierung und die Digitalisierung der Fertigung für anhaltende Wachstumsimpulse sorgen. Auto-hersteller und Zulieferer investie-ren verstärkt in Elektro- und Hyb-ridantriebe. Die benötigten Kom-ponenten erfordern neue Ferti-gungsanlagen. Die Automati-sierung der Elektronikindustrie wird 2018 weitere Wachstums-dynamik generieren. Die unge-wöhnlich starke Nachfrage nach Technologien der Robotik und Automation im Jahr 2017 verlän-gerte die Lieferzeiten für Systeme und wird den Umsatz noch weit bis in das Jahr 2018 positiv beein-flussen. Trotz protektionistischer Tendenzen und makroökonomi-scher Risiken rechnet der Verband für 2018 mit einem Wachstum von 9 % auf 15,8 Mrd. EUR. SL
