Programs/Tools:Adobe Illustrator

Objectives:Create three variations of an original logo to fit a company or personal

image that will appeal to the audience.

Process: I began by talking to my client about what kind of logo he wanted. He

asked for something with a car so I had to figure out how to make a car

in illustrator. This was the biggest challenge for me. I googled some clip

art type cars and then used a bunch of different shapes to create what

I think looks like a car. I then created the target in bring in the high

caliber aspect of the business. To make the company title stick out Idecided to put it on one side of the design hopefully this works. I used

only illustrator and downloaded one of the fonts from the internet.

Programs/Tools:Adobe Illustrator

Adobe InDesign

Objectives:

Create stationary for a client that includes an original logo.

Process:I began by finding a “client” he described to me the type of business that

he wanted to start and we talked about what kind of people he wanted

to reach out to. I used that information to use the focus process and

sketch a design. Once I had the general idea I began designing the icon

in Adobe Illustrator. I knew I wanted to use a stick figure, to show the

common or ordinary man and then used the arms to make it look like

a “T” to fit in with the name of the company. It is plain and simple yet

something that can be recognizable. I used that logo to create a letting

head, using a repetition and diagonal balance to make a cohesive letter-

head.

Programs/Tools:Text Wrangler

Objectives:

Create a web page design for a logo in which I already created.

Process:I created this web page using text wrangler, a text edit program. The

first thing I did was picked out colors based on my logo design that

I already did this semester. I then continued by writing out all that I

wanted to say about my design process. I already had a basic outline

for the webpage so I then began making small changes in CSS. I ad-

justed the colors to match and changed the fonts to make them more

cohesive with my logo. I always checked back on my webpage with

every change I made to be sure I liked the way it looked. Ultimately,

I was pleased with the end product.

Objectives:Design an event flier to match the desired audience.

Process:I started the project by using the FOCUS process, thinking about what

I wanted my message to be and what my audience was. Once I estab-

lished those things I began to sketch some design options. I then used

InDesign to start my project. At first I had a hard time because I have

never used InDesign but slowly I began to get the hang of things. Once

I got my project completed I took it to two different people who gave

me some great ideas and feedback. I made some changes that they

suggested and came out with my final project.

Programs/Tools:Adobe Illustrator

Adobe InDesign

Objectives:Design a business card, front and back, to match the stationary of a

client.

Process:I began my project by designing a logo and letterhead using Adobe

Illustrator and Adobe InDesign. Once I had those created I mimicked

the design of my stationary to create a card with a cohesive feel but

different design. I wanted the back to be as simple as possible so that

most the attention is on the front of the card. On the front I gave the

information and incorperated the logo in a way that made it not stand

out too much.

Cory Kerr

Programs/Tools:Adobe Photoshop

Objectives:Create a photo montage blending different images.

Process:I began my process by thinking about what I wanted my message and

audience to be. I decided that I wanted to do something that would

inspire women that they could do anything they put their minds to. I

began by searching the internet for pictures and quotes that would go

along with my message. When I found what I wanted I inserted them

in using photoshop. With the sunset as my background I put the strong

woman over it. I had to use masking to erase the background of the

image to really make her stand out. I then added my words and made

them fit into the design in a way pleasing to the eye. I also wanted toadd a filter so I covered the whole image with it.

Description:Tri-fold Brochure

Course/Instructor:COMM 130 Section 1

Cory Kerr

Programs/Tools:Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Illustrator

Adobe InDesign

Objectives:Create a folding, 2-sided brochure with full bleed and cropped imag-

es.

Process:The first thing I did was come up with an idea. I knew I wanted to

do something involving music so I came up with the music center

idea. Once I discovered my audience I began designing the logo

using adobe Illustrator. After that I opened Adobe Indesign to start

my actual brochure. I decided I wanted to do a 2-sided trifold design

so once I got all my measurements squared away I started designing.I began with a red background but as I continued on I decided to go

with a triadic color scheme adjusting the colors to fit that. With my

images I edited all of them using Adobe Photoshop. I moved my

layout around as I printed until I found something that I really liked.

Create an advertisment for an event using skills through microsoftword.

Process:To start out my ad I began by looking for pictures that I could scan.

From the pictures I found I started to think of what I could make with

those photos. I decided on a talent show ad and then began to sketch a

little. When I found basically what I wanted to do I began designing it

using Microsoft Word. I also used a photoshop just a bit to make sure

the images turned out okay.
