abroad for our motorcycle production. In the medium term, we will explore furtheroptions on how to expand BMW Group Plant Rayong in order to include theproduction of additional BMW motorcycle models for other Asian markets,?according to Stephan Schaller, Head of BMW Motorrad.

The local production gives customers in Thailand easier access to the BMWMotorrad brand. Stephan Schaller: ?As the BMW F 800 R is produced locally, itcomes with an affordable price tag, which in turn means that we will be able to stepup our market position in the long term. The first BMW motorcycles made in Thailandwill be available through the BMW dealership network from the first quarter of 2014on.?

About BMW Group Plant Rayong

Founded in 2000, BMW Group Plant Rayong is situated at the Eastern Coast ofThailand, in the Amata City Industrial Park (Rayong Provice) about 115 kilometersfrom Bangkok. The assembly plant comprises approx. 75,000 square meters.

Last year, the site recorded a production output of 6,065 vehicles, assembled by 278workers. At present, BMW Group Plant Rayong produces the following models: MINICountryman, BMW 3 Series, BMW 5 Series, BMW 7 Series, BMW X1, and BMW X3.This range will soon be complemented by the BMW motorcycle model F 800 R.

Since its foundation in 2000, the BMW Group has invested a total of about 50 millioneuros (approximately 2 billion Thai Baht) in the plant.
