ANABEL BALKENHOL 08.04.1972 – Deutschland / Rosendahl

Tochter von Reitmeister und Olympiasieger Klaus Balkenhol

(76). Nach Abitur zunächst Beginn eines Studiums (Sonder-

schullehrerin), dann eine Lehre beim deutschen Verband in

Warendorf zur Bürokauffrau. War eineinhalb Jahre in den USA

(Del Mar/ Kalifornien) bei einer Freundin (Besitzerin eines Reit-

stalles). Inzwischen Berufsreiterin. Erhielt während des Turniers

in Stuttgart Mitte November 2009 den Otto-Lörke-Preis als

besondere Kennzeichnung ihrer Leistung der Ausbildung des

Hannoveraner Wallachs „Dablino“ von „De Niro“. Der Preis wird

vergeben durch eine anerkannte Jury an Reiter und Trainer von

bis zehnjährigen Pferden, die bereits Grand Prix gehen können.

Ende Juni 2010 beim 15. Manfred Swarovski Gedächtnisturnier

auf „Rubins Royal“ jeweils Vierte im Grand Prix und in der Kür,

dazu auf „Dablino“ Zweite im anderen Grand Prix und ebenfalls

Zweite im Grand Prix Special. Mitte Juli 2010 beim 95. CHIO

von Deutschland in Aachen erstmals in der offiziellen deut-

schen Equipe: Auf „Dablino“ jeweils Achte im Grand Prix und

Grand Prix Special, konnte wegen einer Magen-Darminfektion

nicht in der Kür starten. Mitte August 2010 in Münster bei der

Deutschen Meisterschaft auf „Dablino“ Siegerin im GP, Vize-

meisterin im Grand Prix Special (erste Meisterschaftsmedaille,

14.8.2010), Sechste in der Kür. Anfang Oktober in Lexington bei

den 6. Weltreiterspielen auf „Dablino“

mit dem Team – Koschel, Werth und

Rath – Bronze, in der Einzelwertung im

Grand Prix Special auf Rang 8 und in der

Mitte Juli in Aachen beim CHIO von

Deutschland zog sich „Dablino“ beim

Abreiten eine Beinverletzung zu, so dass

das Paar nicht für die EM in Rotterdam

nominiert werden konnte. Anfang Juni

in Balve 2012 bei der Deutschen Mei-

sterschaft auf „Dablino“ Vierte im GP,

Vierte im GPS und Fünfte in der Kür.

Einzelstarterin bei Olympia 2012 in

London auf „Dablino“, nicht in der Kür

um Einzelmedaillen. Anfang Mai 2014

in Hamburg Derby-Zweite mit Pferde-

wechsel hinter Fabienne Lütkemeier

(Deutschland). Anfang Juni in Balve auf „Dablino“ Dritte im

Grand Prix, Bronze im Grand Prix Special der Deutschen Mei-

sterschaft. Ende Juni in Aachen auf „Dablino“ in der siegreichen

Equipe beim Preis der Nationen, Zweite im GP, Fünfte im GPS

und Siebte in der Kür. Mehrere Erkrankungen und Operationen

im Sommer und Herbst 2014. Anfang Januar 2015 in Münster

auf „Dablino“ jeweils Zweite in Grand Prix und Grand Prix Spe-

cial, in Hagen bei Horses and Dreams jeweils Zweite in GP und

GPS, holte Mitte Mai 2015 in Hamburg beim Deutschen Derby

erstmals die Blaue Siegesschärpe, die der Vater 1993, 1994 und

1995 gewonnen hatte.

ANABEL BALKENHOL Born April 8, 1972 – Germany / Rosendahl

Daughter of riding instructor and Olympic champion Klaus

Balkenhol, 76. Started reading special education after finis-

hing school, then trained as clerk with the German Equestrian

Federation at Warendorf. Spent one and a half year in the USA

(Del Mar, California) at a friend (owner of a riding stable). Is now

a professional rider. Was awarded the Otto Loerke Price for her

merits in training the Hanover gelding “Dablino” of “De Niro”

during the tournament in Stuttgart in mid-November 2009.

The price is awarded by a recognised jury of riders and trainers

of up to ten-year-old horses which can already compete in the

Grand Prix. Finished fourth at the 15th Manfred Swarovski Me-

morial Show on “Rubins Royal” in both the Grand Prix and the

Grand Prix Freestyle as well as coming second on “Dablino” in

the other Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Special. Made her debut

in the official German team at the 95th CHIO of Germany in Aa-

chen in mid-July 2010, finishing eighth in the Grand Prix and the

Grand Prix Special on “Dablino”, was prevented from compe-

ting in the Grand Prix Freestyle by a gastro-intestinal infection.

Won the Grand Prix on “Dablino” at the German Championships

in Muenster in mid-August 2010, finished second in the Grand

Prix Special (first championship medal on August 14, 2010) and

sixth in the Grand Prix Freestyle. At the 6th World Equestrian

Games in Lexington bronze me-

dallist with the team (Koschel,

Werth, Rath), eighth individual

in the Grand Prix Special and

12th in the Grand Prix Freesty-

le. Runner-up in the 2011 Ger-

man Derby in Hamburg, fourth

in the Grand Prix on “Dablino”,

third in the Grand Prix Special

and fourth in Freestyle at the

German Championships. At the

CHIO in Aachen in mid-July “Da-

blino” suffered a leg injury du-

ring riding down with the conse-

quence that the pair could not

be nominated for the European

Championships in Rotterdam.

In the beginning of June 2012

fourth in GP and GPS, fifth in GPF

at the German Championships

at Balve. Individual starter with

“Dablino” at the 2012 London

Olympics, not in the GPF for

individual medals. At the begin-

ning of May 2014 runner-up in the Derby with horse exchange

behind Fabienne Luetkemeier (Germany) in Hamburg. At the

beginning of June third in the GP on “Dablino”, bronze in the

GPS at the German Championships. Won the Nations Cup with

the German team on “Dablino” in Aachen at the end of June,

runner-up in the GP, fifth in the GPS and seventh in the GPF. Un-

derwent several surgeries in the summer and autumn of 2014.

Finished second in both the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special in

Muenster at the beginning of January 2015, second in both the

GP and GPS at Horses and Dreams in Hagen, won her first Blue

Sash for the winner - which her father her won in three successi-

ve years (1993, 1994, 1995) - at the German Derby in Hamburg

in mid-May 2015.

CHRISTOPH KOSCHEL 09.04.1976 – Deutschland / Hagen a.T.W.

Jurist, Sohn des bekannten Ausbilders und Bundestrainers in

verschiedenen Ländern, Jürgen Koschel. Ab 2006 Trainer von

Katar. Ende Mai 2008 in Lingen auf „Donnperignon“ Sieger im

Nachwuchspferde-Grand Prix. Gewann 2009 in Hamburg Klein

Flottbek bei seinem ersten Start das 49. Deutsche Dressur-Der-

by mit Pferdewechsel, dazu auf „Fantomas“ auch Gewinner der

Kür. Gewann Ende Juli 2009 in Strassen/ Luxemburg auf „Donn-

perignon“ GP und GPS, dazu wurde er Zweiter auf „Fantomas“

in der Kür. Anfang November in Oldenburg auf „Donnperignon“

Sieger im GP und Zweiter im GPS. Mitte November beim 25. CHI

in der Schleyerhalle von Stuttgart auf „Donnperignon“ Dritter

im GP und Zehnter im GPS, am nächsten Morgen wollte Edward

Gal (Niederlande) den Donnerhall-Nachkommen kaufen. Ko-

schel gewann Mitte Januar 2010 in Leipzig auf „Donnperignon“

GP und GP Special. Ende April in Mannheim auf „Donnperignon“

Vierter im GP und Zweiter im GPS. Mitte Juni in Rotterdam beim

CHIO der Niederlande auf „Donnperignon“ Fünfter im GP und

Vierter in der Kür, dazu mit der Equipe Zweiter hinter den Nie-

derlanden. Im Juli 2010 in Aachen beim 95. CHIO von Deutsch-

land auf „Donnperignon“ erstmals in der Equipe: Sechster im

GP, Sechster im GPS und Siebter in der Kür, dazu mit dem Team

Zweiter in der Nationen-Wertung hinter den Niederlanden.

Mitte August 2010 in Münster auf „Donnperignon“ Bronze bei

ni in Balve bei der Deutschen Meisterschaft auf „Donnperignon“

Dritter im GP, Vierter im GPS und Silber in der Kür hinter Matt-

hias Rath auf „Totilas“. Mitte Juli in Aachen auf „Donnperignon“

in der Equipe, die den Preis der Nationen gewann. Mitte August

in Rotterdam bei der EM auf „Donnperignon“ mit der Equipe –

Werth mit „El Santo“, Rath mit „Totilas“ und Langehanenberg

mit „Damon Hill“ – Silber hinter Großbritannien. Im Oktober

2011 wurde „Donnperignon“ nach Dänemark verkauft (Neue

Reiterin: Anna Kasprzak). Mitte März 2012 in Braunschweig

auf „Rostropowitsch“ Sieger in GP und Kür. Mitte September

in Leudelange/ Luxemburg auf „Rostropowitsch“ Sieger in GP

und GPS. Mitte Juli in Perl bei Saarbrücken auf „Rostropowitsch

NRW“ Zweiter in der Kür hinter Kristina Sprehe auf „Despera-

dos“. Mitte September in Wien auf „Rostropowitsch“ im GP im

Rahmen der Global Champions Tour der Springreiter Dritter

und Vierter in der Kür. Mitte Mai 2014 in Balve bei der DM auf

„Rostropowitsch“ Siebter im GP, Elfter im GPS und Achter in

der Kür. Anfang August 2014 in Münster auf „Rostropowitsch“

Sieger im GP (2.500) und Zweiter in der Kür.

CHRISTOPH KOSCHEL Born April 9, 1976 – Germany / Hagen a.T.W.

Lawyer, son of the well-known trainer and national coach of

various countries, Juergen Koschel. Won the 2008 young hor-

ses Grand Prix with “Donnperignon” at Lingen at the end of May.

Competed at the 49th German Dressage Derby with horse ex-

change in Hamburg for the first time in 2009 and became cham-

pion, also won the Grand Prix Freestyle on “Fantomas”. Winner of

the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special and second in the Grand Prix

Freestyle on “Fantomas” at Strassen, Luxembourg, in July 2009.

Finished first in the GP and second in the GPS on “Donnperignon”

in Oldenburg at the beginning of November. In mid-November

third in the GP and tenth in the GPS on “Donnperignon” at the

25th CHI at Schleyerhalle in Stuttgart – the following morning

Dutchman Edward Gal wanted to buy the “Donnerhall” offspring.

In mid January 2010 winner of the GP and GPS on “Donnperignon”

in Leipzig. Second on “Donnperignon” in the GPS and fourth in

the GP in Mannheim at the end of April. In mid-June fifth in the

GP and fourth in the GPF on “Donnperignon” as well as runner-up

with the team behind the Netherlands at the Dutch CHIO in Rot-

terdam. In July 2010 in the German team for the first time at the

95th German CHIO in Aachen with “Donnperignon” – sixth in GP

and GPS, seventh in the GPF, second with the team in the nations

classification behind the Netherlands. Won his first national me-

dal when finishing third in the Grand Prix Freestyle on “Donnperi-

gnon” at the 2010 German Championships in Muenster. Gained

team bronze together with Isabell Werth with “Warum Nicht”,

Anabel Balkenhol with “Dablino” and Matthias Alexander Rath

with “Sterntaler” at the World Equestrian Games in Lexington,

sixth in the GPS and tenth in the GPF. At the beginning of June 2011

second in both the GP and GPF at the Masters Series in Munich.

Third in the GP, fourth in the GPS and second in the GPF behind

Matthias Rath with “Totilas” at the German Championships at

Balve in mid-June. Won the Nations Cup with the German team on

“Donnperignon” in Aachen in mid-July. Silver medallist with the

team – Werth on “El Santo”, Rath on “Totilas”, Langehanenberg

on “Damon Hill” – behind Great Britain at the European Champi-

onships in Rotterdam in mid-August. “Donnperignon” was sold to

Denmark (new rider: Anna Kasprzak) in October 2011. Winner of

Grand Prix and Grand Prix Freestyle on “Rostropowitsch” in Bruns-

wick in mid-March 2012. Won GP and GPS on “Rostropowitsch”

at Leudelange/Luxembourg in mid-September. Third (GP) and

fourth (GPF) on “Rostropowitsch” on the occasion of the Global

Champions Tour in showjumping in Vienna. At the beginning

of August 2014 winner of the GP (2,500) and second in GPF on

“Rostropowitsch” in Muenster.
