Each of the three sections of Trilog,z was written for a special occasion.

INI{ER SOI\G (which has the motto: Worte ge}ren noch zart am unságlichenaus . . .)was written for a festival of Stefan Wolpe's music in Witten, Ger*at y, in

*ptil, t-992, for Heinz Holliger to perform, to whom it is dedicated. The fascinatingfriendship with wolpe is a very treasured memory.
