Die Katze, die lauert.

Pass auf, kleine Maus!

Komm, geh dich verstecken,

bloß rein da ins Haus.

Das Versteck ist perfekt,

doch die Tür steht noch auf …

Maus nimm dich in Acht,

sei wachsam und lauf!

Die Katze liebt Kisten,

man findet sie dort.

Vielleicht ist dies doch nicht

der ruhigste Ort.

Jetzt renn, kleine Maus.

Bloß schnell von hier weg.

Die Katze, die fängt dich,

sie riecht schon den Speck.

Sie springt in den Raum,

die sehr schnelle Katze.

“Zu Hilfe, da ist sie.

Ich seh schon die Tatze!”

Die Katz jagt die Maus,

mal hin und mal her.

Doch Maus springt ins Loch,

das Zimmer ist leer.

Jetzt wartet der Jäger.

“Was dauert das lang!”

Die Katze, die grübelt:

“Wo bleibt bloß mein Fang?”

“Du kriegst mich nicht”,

sagt die kleine Maus froh.

“Ich kenn dieses Haus

und dich sowieso.”

Das war nicht so gut,

so anzugeben.

Jetzt sieht Katz die Maus –

am Loch, rechts daneben.
