Vorteile des Elektropolierens Das Elektropolieren ist ein elektro- chemisches Verfahren zur Oberflächen- veredelung, bei dem Metallionen elektrolytisch von der Werkstoff- oberfläche abgetragen werden. Der primäre Zweck liegt darin, Mikro-rauhigkeit zu verringern. Dadurch ver-mindert sich die Gefahr, dass Schmutz oder Produktrückstände anhaften, maßgeblich. Die Reinigbarkeit wird verbessert. Das Elektropolieren wird auch zum Entgraten, Glänzen und Passivieren eingesetzt. Das Verfahren sorgt für eine metall- urgisch reine Oberfläche ohne Störstellen. Die einer Werkstoffsorte innewohnende Korrosionsbeständigkeit wird vollständig ausgeschöpft. Advantages of electropolishing Electrolytic polishing is an electro- chemical process for surface treatment which causes ferritic ions to leave the material surface. The intended purpose is to reduce the microrough-ness. Therefore dirt or product remains are much more unlikely to stick to the chain. The cleanability is improved. Electrolytic polishing is also used for deburring, buffing or passivating. The process effects a metallurgical clean surface without defects. The material‘s corrosion resistance is fully exploited.

Grundsätze • Der Begriff „Edelstahl rostfrei“ umschreibt die Gruppe der korrosionsbeständigen Stähle. Charakteristisch für diese Stähle sind ein Massenanteil von mindestens 10,5 % Chrom und höchstens 1,2 % Kohlenstoff. Basic information• Steel commonly referred to as “stainless” provides superior resistance against corrosion compared to mild steel. • A composition of at least 10.5 % chromium and maximum 1.2 % carbon is common for stainless steel. Enhancements to the composition of the raw steel and special alloys improve the quality of the chain.

Due to the high-quality, purity and nar-row tolerance of the alloying elements in cromox steel, we are able to produce durable, heavy-duty stainless products with increased corrosion- and crack-resistance. The high concentration of chrome ensures a strong passive layer of chromium oxide for protection. A precise amount of nickel creates the shiny surface and other alloys like molybdenum allow for increased WLLs and higher breaking points. An important characteristic of our CXA/CXI anchor chains is the special alloys to fulfill the highest demands in harsh sea-water environments. Through advanced surface treatments like elec-tropolishing, the corrosion resistance is substantially increased, while care and maintenance made easier.

Materials Before raw materials are made into chains and components, we carefully select only the best steels that adhere to our strict quality standards. Our products consist of 1.4404 (AISI 316L) (low-magnetic) or of 1.4462 (AISI 318 LN) (magnetic), such as hooks, safety latches, bolts, chains, master links. Safety pins and springs are made of 1.4310 (AISI 302), identification tags of 1.4301 (AISI 304), ropes of 1.4404 (AISI 316L) and ferrules of 1.4571 (AISI 316 TI). 1.4404 (AISI 316L) and 1.4462 (AISI 318 LN) offer excellent chemical and mechanical advantages.
