THE ZURICH LECTURE SERIES IN ANALYTICAL PSYCHOLOGY • 2016

Creativity Patterns of Creative Imagination

as Seen in Art Paul Brutsche, PhD

Paul Brutsche graduated from the C.G. Jung Institute Zürich in 1975. He is on the faculty of the International School of Analytical Psychology (ISAPZURICH) and maintains a private practice in Zurich. His lectures at home and abroad focus mainly on picture interpretation, art, and creativity. In this lecture series, he will interpret paintings of Chagall, van Gogh, Dürer, Picasso, Poussin, Gauguin, Courbet, and Klee. His hypothesis is that by studying artists’ works we grasp vividly and em-pirically how creativity is experienced—and we see patterns that ex-press and manifest the fundamental features of creativity itself.

Sat, Oct 29 10:00-16:00 Two Lectures, Discussions, Lunch Buffet at Foyer St. Anton, St. Anton’s Church

Bei den Alchemisten gilt der durch das opus dargestelle Individuationsprozess als eine Analogie der Weltentstehung und das opus selber als eine solche des göttlichen Schöpfungswerkes. Die Archetypen und das Kollektive Unbewusste, GW, 9i, § 550 For the alchemists the process of individuation represented by the opus was an analogy of the creation of the world, and the opus itself an analogy of God’s work of creation. Man was seen as a microcosm, a complete equivalent of the world in miniature. The Archetypes and the Collective Unconscious, CW 9i, § 550.
