Im Jahr 2011 gründeten Beata & Horacio Cifuentes die CATT-Company mit 15 AbsolventInnen der CATT-Ausbildung. Ziel der CATT-Company ist es, sowohl innovative als auch traditionelle Choreographien zu gestalten und die vielfältigen Erfahrungen von TänzerInnen aus unterschiedlichen europäischen Ländern in gemeinsamen Projekten zum Ausdruck zu bringen. Die CATT-Company feierte 2011 Premiere mit einer 22-minütigen Burlesque Suite im Rahmen des 8. Interna-tionalen Sommer Festival in Berlin. Das Programm 2012 umfasst ein komplettes Abendprogramm mit klassischem Raks Sharqi, Tribal Fusion, Fantasy, Burlesque-Tanztheater, Folklore und Comedy!!

In 2011 Beata & Horacio invited 15 of the best CATT graduates (Certified Academic Teacher Training) to join them in the 1st Multinational European Bellydance Com-pany! Highly motivated and trained, this group will rock your dance world with an evening of classical raks sharqi, tribal fusion, fantasy, burlesque dance theatre, folklore and comedy! Beata begann als kleines Mädchen von 6 Jahren zu tanzen. Schon als Kind hatte der wöchentliche Ballettkurs eine grosse Bedeutung in ihrem Leben. Nach einem Umweg über ein abgebrochenes Me-dizinstudium und eine Ausbildung zur Bühnentänzerin mit Schwer-punkt Modern, trat der orientalische Tanz in Form einer alten Mu-sikaufnahme von Um Kalthoum in ihr Leben. Beata folgte von nun an ihrem Herzen und gründete das damals erste Studio für orienta-lischen Tanz in Berlin, aus dem später die Tanzakademie Cifuentes hervorgehen sollte, und avancierte schnell zum Dreh- und Angel-punkt der Oriental Dance Szene. Sie entwickelte über viele Jahre zusammen mit ihrem Mann Horacio Cifuentes das renommierte CATT Ausbildungsprogramm für Tänzer und Lehrer.

Beata started to dance at the age of six. Already then the weekly ballet class was of special meaning to her. After a detour (unfinished medical school and a school for stage dance) she fell in love with Egyptian dance after hearing a recording of Um Kalthoum. She followed her heart and later opened the first studio for Ori-ental Dance in Berlin. Together with her husband Horacio she developed the reknowned CATT-Programme for dancers and teachers.

Horacio tanzt seit seiner Kindheit. Als 5-jähriger tanzte er Flamen-co in Sevilla, als 13-Jähriger begann er seine Ballettausbildung am Opernhaus in Gdansk, Polen. Vom American Ballet Theatre New York kam er zum San Francisco Ballet, wo er 8 Jahre als Solist in über 40 klassischen und modernen Balletten tanzte. Durch einen Zufall entdeckte er den orientalischen Tanz und verfiel ihm bald ganz. Zusammen mit seiner Frau Beata produziert er die Orien-tal-Fantasy-Shows, die als komplette Abendvorstellung die ersten Bühnenshows dieser Art waren.

Horacio started to dance at the age of five. He studied Flamen-co in Sevilla and began his ballet training at the Gdansk Opera House in Poland. From New York American Ballet Theatre he went to the San Francisco Ballet where he danced for 8 years as a soloist in more than 40 classical and modern ballets. By

accident he discovered Oriental dance which eventually became his first dance love. Together with his wife Beata he creates the Oriental Fantasy Shows, complete evening programmes that were the first theatrical shows of Oriental dance.

Ilhan wurde in Istanbul geboren, wo sein Leben immer schon von exotischer Musik und einer Leidenschaft für Kunst geprägt war. Nach vielen Jahren als Tänzer, in de-nen er verschiedene Tanzarten wie klas-sisches Ballett, modernen und auch ori-entalischen Tanz studierte, entwickelte er seinen ganz eigenen Stil, den er „modern oriental“ nennt. 2003 engagierte man ihn für das „Hurrem Sultan Dance Theatre Pro-ject“ in Istanbul. 2005 tanzte er bei dem renommierten „Festival du Monde Arabe“ in Montreal/Kanada. 2007 bis 2009 war er Mitglied des Cirque du Soleil in der Las Ve-gas Show „Zumanity“. Ilhan lebt noch im-mer in Las Vegas und arbeitet als Tänzer, Choreograph und Lehrer.Wir sind sehr stolz ihn als Erste, der Welt des orientalischen Tanzes zu präsentieren.

Mercedes Nieto wurde in Budapest, als Kind ein ungaro-hispa-nischen Familie geboren. Neben orientalischem Tanz studierte sie Flamenco, Afrikanischen Tanz, sowie Klassisches- und Jazz-Ballett. Mercedes vermischt diese Techniken mit den Formen des traditio-nellen und zeitgenössischen Ägyptischen Tanzes zu ihrem ganz ei-genen Stil. Seit zehn Jahren unterrichtet sie an ihrer eigenen Schule in Budapest und reist durch ganz Europa, die USA und Asien, um auch dort zu lehren und zu tanzen.

Mercedes Nieto was born in Budapest to a hungarian-spanish family. Aside from oriental dance she was studying flamenco, afro dance, classical and jazz ballett. Merging these with the traditional and contemporary Egyptian dance forms Mercedes

created her own style. Since ten years Mercedes teaches at her own school in Budapest and travels extensively to teach and perform all over Europe, the US and Asia.

llhan Karabacak was born and grew up in the exotic city of Istanbul. He has always nurtured a passion for the arts; particu-larly music and dance. After many years as a dancer, at the age of 19, he began to explore different dance styles, classical, con-temporary and oriental. Rapidly, Ilhan developed a very unique style combining classical dance techniques with the sharp, cut-ting movements of oriental, a style he refers to “as modern ori-ental”. In 2003, Ilhan became involved with the ”Hurrem Sultan Dance Theater Project”. 2005, Ilhan performed for the “Festival du Monde Arabe (FDMA)” at Montreal’s famous Place des Arts. 2007- 2009 Ilhan was a member of the Cirque du Soleil in the Las Vegas Show ‘Zumanity’ . Today, Ilhan works as an indepen-dent artist, choreographer and teacher.


Amar Gherbi (Frankreich) - ehemaliger Schüler des Staatlich Alge-rischen Volkstanz Balletts - hat im Laufe seiner bisherigen Karriere mit vielen Künstlern der Arabischen Welt zusammengearbeitet. Er gastierte auf zahlreichen bekannten Cabaret Bühnen Europas. Dazu gesellen sich TV Auftritte im belgischen und französischem Fern-sehen, dem renommierten Genfer Musik Festival, internationalen Messen und bei zahlreichen bekannten Events in Tunesien, Marok-ko, und der Schweiz.

Amar Gherbi (France) is a former student of the military folk ballet of Algiers (state ballet) and have worked with many ar-tists of the arabian world. He presents shows in wellknown ca-barets in Belgium, England and France. He was invited several times on French and Belgium TV, danced for the international music party of Geneva, international fairs in Paris Bercy and for several events in Tunisia, Morocco and Switzerland.

Valeria ist eine hervorragende Tänzerin, die schon viele Preise in Russland und Europa gewonnen hat. Sie ist die Gewinnerin un-seres Wettbewerbs 2011, wo sie mit ihrer brillianten Show alle überzeugte! Sie leitet eine Schule in Moskau und ist im Rus-sischen TV mit „Belly Dance with Valeria“ zu sehen.

Valeria is a unique dancer who has won many prizes in Russia and Europe. She is the winner of our contest 2011 where she convinced both jury and audience with her brilliant performance. She is director of her own school in Moscow and teaches “Bellydance with Valeria” in Russian TV.

Elegant and clas-sical, strong in carriage: Fusing Victorian costume aesthetics, hip hop/modern dance movement strangeness, a respectful take on world folk dances and professional versatility. Samantha be-came the first Tribal Fusion instructor to receive the new Fat Chance Belly Dance ATS General Studio Teacher Certification, Level One.

Rachel Brice ist die wohl bekannteste Tribal Fusion Tänzerin der Welt. Jede Tribal Tänzerin kennt und liebt ihre Signature Moves! Ma*Shuqa Mira Murjan has been performing, teaching, and coaching for over 35 years. Her Ma*Shuqa Method gives dancers a structure for developing improvised choreography while per-forming with individualized styling. Her workshop is perfect for teachers and dancers who want to enhance performance dynamics and styling. She has authored many arti-cles on aspects of professionalism and performance in Middle Eastern dance. Michaela is a Tribal Fusion Dancer from Prague. Apart from Tribal Fusion she also has a deep passion for contemporary modern dance and Yoga. This and the variety of expressions, she has learned on multiple trips through the Middle East, floating together in her distinctive style. She is the winner of last year Tribal Solo Contest Berlin!

Michaela lebt als Tribal Performerin in Prag. Neben dem Tribal Fusion schlägt ihr Herz für Modernen Zeitgenössischen Tanz und Yoga. Wenn sie nicht unterrichtet, engagiert sie sich in Non-Profit-Projekten für Flüchtlinge und Tanztherapie. 2011 gewann Sie sowohl den Berliner „Tanzakademie Cifuentes Tri-bal Contest“ (Solo Tribal) als auch den 3. Platz des „Hannover International Tribal Award“.

Patricia gehört zu den ersten und be-kanntesten Tribal Fusion-Tänzerinnen Deutschlands. Neben orientalischen Tanz-formen beschäftigte sie sich mit Kathak (klassischem nordindischem Tanz), Funk-Style und Yoga. 2004 gründete sie den Tribe perlatentia. Seit 2009 ist sie ausserdem Tri-bal-Style-Dozentin bei CATT (Certified Aca-demic Teacher`s Training). 2011 schloss sie selber erfolgreich das 2-jährige CATT-Lehr-ertraining bei Beata & Horacio und fungiert auch als Tribal Fusion- Choregraphic-Con-sultant der CATT-Company.

Patricia is one of Germany`s foremost dancers, director of tribe perlatentia and CATT-lecturer for Tribal Style since 2009. Besides oriental dance forms she studied Kathak, the classical northern indian dance, as well as FunkStyle and Yoga. In 2011 Patricia successfully passed the exam of the 2-year CATT- teacher training with Beata & Horacio. She also is a Tribal Fusion- Choregraphic-Consultant for the CATT-Company.

Dina ist Halbägypterin und lebt ein „Dop-pel-Leben“ als Tänzerin/Lehrerin und Ärz-tin in Wien. Sie beendete 2010 erfolgreich die CATT-Ausbildung bei Beata & Horacio Cifuentes. Ihr Unterricht besteht aus einer Mischung aus ursprünglich ägyptischem Ausdruck mit modernen und interessanten Akzenten und Kombinationen, die sie pä-dagogisch versiert den Schülerinnen näher-bringt.

Dina is half Egyptian and as that she understands the feeling and lyrics perfectly. She will teach a modern song by singer Haifa which includes sexy yet earthy elements. Her authentic style and expression is clearly conveyed in class. In 2011 Dina successfully completed the 2 year CATT Teacher Training. She is a member of the CATT-Company.

Eman Zaki ist momentan die bekannteste und beliebteste Kostüm-designerin Kairo’s. Als ehemahlige Tänzerin, weiss Sie ganz genau, was ihre tanzenden Kundinnen brauchen.

Eman is the most known and sought after costume designer of Cairo. She knows perfectly well what a dancer needs because she used to be a dancer herself.

Yolanda ist eine der führenden Tribaltänzerinnen Polens. Sie ist europaweit eine der wenigen ATS-zertifizierten Lehrerinnen (FCBD, Carolina Nericcio !). 2009 schloss sie ebenfalls erfolgreich das 2jäh-rige CATT-Lehrertraining bei Beata & Horacio ab. Sie ist Mitglied der CATT-Company.

Yolanda is one of Poland`s leading Tribal Fusion dancers. She is one of the very few ATS-Certified Teachers by Carolina Nericcio (FCBD) in Europe. In 2009 she also successfully completed the 2-year CATT – Teacher Training of Beata & Horacio. She is a member of CATT-Company.

Der Herr über Nadel und Faden

Während seiner Zeit als Solist beim San Francisco Ballett entwickelte Horacio Cifuentes eine spezielle Affi nität für die Kunst der feinen Stickerei. Seitdem kreierte er Werke wie „Lands Of Hope“, „Aurora“ und „The Ballet School“, alle ausgestellt in der Tanzakademie Cifuentes. Einige der von Beata & Horacio Cifuentes bei diesem Festival getragenen und auf der Bühne zu bewundernden Kostüme, wurden von ihm entworfen und gestickt.
