Restrictions in the Exhibition Hall Area Security Zone On 5 July 2017 we will start to set up a security zone that extends around the Exhibition Hall by erecting what we call "Hamburg barriers" (half-height metal barriers). The secure zone will be similar in size to the one that was established for the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting in December last year. In addition, police officers will be assigned to secure the site. Only residents, their visitors, business owners, trades persons or persons having a legitimate interest in entering the area (e.g. delivery services, nursing/medical care providers, postal services) will be allowed inside the secure zone. Access is possible through marked control points only. Persons having a legitimate interest must provide proof. The police will carry out identity checks and people wishing to enter the zone must be able to provide identification (identity card, etc.). If you do not have proper identification, a police officer will accompany you to your flat/destination. Children do not require ID. Please advise your children that due to the barriers they may have to take a different route to school/afternoon activities on the days of the event. Road Closures/No-parking Zone Some roads will be closed; please refer to the security zone map overleaf for more information. Starting from 6 am on Monday, 26 June 2017, no-parking zones will be established within the area marked by the yellow line. They will remain in place until 6 am on Monday, 10 July 2017 at the latest. Notice boards on site will advise you of the exact times. No vehicles/bicycles are permitted to park in the security zone. Please remove them in time. Public Transport Service Restrictions Bus service 35 will not pass through Karolinenstraße and St. Petersburger Straße on the respective days but will be diverted. The public transport operators will publish changes in a timely manner. At "Messehallen" underground station the entrance "Karolinen- straße" and the entrance "Hamburg Messe" as well as the lift to the platforms will not be in use. The remaining public transport network around Exhibition Hall will not be affected by the summit. Long-distance trains and flights to and from Hamburg airport will operate as scheduled. G20 Summit in Hamburg

Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel invited the group of 20 leaders to meet in Hamburg this year, and the premises of Hamburg Exhibition Hall have been selected as main venue of the G20 Summit.

The Hamburg police force will take security measures to ensure that the people in Hamburg are safe and the event runs smoothly from start to finish. Though we will try to cause as little disruption as possible to the residents some restrictions cannot be avoided.

Restrictions in the Exhibition Hall Area

Security ZoneOn 5 July 2017 we will start to set up a security zone that extends around the Exhibition Hall by erecting what we call "Hamburg barriers" (half-height metal barriers). The secure zone will be similar in size to the one that was established for the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting in December last year.
