8 TAGE MAZEDONIEN 1. Tag: Ankunft in SkopjeFlug nach Skopje. Mit dem Bus und Guide erkunden wir gleich die mazedonische Hauptstadt mit der Altstadt, der Festung Kale, der Kirche Sv. Spas und den großen Bazar wie auch die Neustadt mit dem Alexander-Brunnen und dem Mutter-Teresa-Haus. Danach Bezug unseres Hotels, Abendessen im Hotel.

2. Tag: Skopje – Tetovo – Mavrovo – OhridHeute besuchen wir zunächst die Stadt Tetovo und statten der „Bunten Moschee“ einen Besuch ab. Danach geht es in den Nationalpark Mavrovo, einzigartige Natur erwartet uns und auch das Kloster Sv. Jovan Bigorski, das wir besuchen werden. Danach über Debar weiter zur Stadt Ohrid, wo wir auch unser Hotel beziehen werden.

3. Tag: UNESCO-Stadt OhridHeute steht die Besichtigung der UNESCO-Stadt Ohrid am Programm. Wir starten den Tag mit dem Schiff im Hafen von Ohrid. Dann erkunden wir die Stadt zu Fuß und sehen u.a. die Festung des König Samuel, die Kirche Sv. Periblebtos oder auch das antike römische Theater. Nachmittags Freizeit für eigene Erkundigungen, abends Rückkehr zu unserem Hotel.

4. Tag: Ohrid – Bitola – Stobi – StrugaUnser Ausflug führt uns heute zunächst zur Stadt Bitola, einst Stadt der Diplomatie im osmanischen Reich. Nahe Bitola befinden sich die Ausgrabungen von Heraclea Lincestis, einst gegründet von Filip II. von Makedonien. Danach weiter zu den römischen Ausgrabungen von Stobi. Nahe Stobi besuchen wir ein Weingut, um die hervorragenden mazedonischen Weine zu verkosten. Abends Rückkehr zu unserem Hotel in Ohrid.

5. Ohrid – Sveti Naum – OhridAm Hafen von Ohrid nehmen wir ein Schiff und fahren zum Kloster Sveti Naum. Hier ruhen auch die Überreste des Hl. Naum. Beim Kloster befinden sich auch die Quellen des Ohridsees, die wir mit dem Ruderboot erkunden. Mit dem Schiff geht es nachmittags wieder zurück nach Ohrid und der Bus bringt uns zum Hotel.

7. Tag: Ohrid – SkopjeHeute geht es wieder zurück nach Skopje. Hier angekommen nehmen wir die Seilbahn zum Hausberg Vodno auf rund 1.000m Seehöhe. Danach besuchen wir das Kloster Sv. Pantelemon, ein einzigartiges Zeugnis byzantinischer Baukunst. Bezug des Hotels, zum Abschied erwartet uns ein typisch mazedonisches Abendessen mit Musik in einem Restaurant in Skopje.

8. Tag: Transfer zum Flughafen

8 DAYS MACEDONIA

1. Day: ArrivalFlight to Skopje. With our guide we explore the Macedonian capital. During our city tour we will see the old town, Kale Fortress, the Church St. Spas and the Grand Bazaar as well as the New town with Alexander Fountain and the Mother Teresa House. Afterwards check-in in our Hotel and we will have dinner together.

2. Day: Skopje – Tetovo – Mavrovo – OhridAs first Highlight we visit the town of Tetovo with the "Colorful Mosque". Then we continue to the National Park Mavrovo, unique nature and the monastery St. Jovan Bigorski await us. In the afternoon we reach the UNESCO protected region of Ohrid.

3. Day: UNESCO Town OhridToday we exlore the UNESCO protected town of Ohrid. We start the day with a boat trip in the port of Ohrid. Then we explore the city by foot and see the fortress of King Samuel, the church of Sv. Periblebtos or the ancient Roman theater. Free afternoon, in the evening return to our hotel.

4.Day: Ohrid – Bitola – Stobi – OhridOur excursion takes us first to the town of Bitola. Near Bitola we will find the archaeological site of Heraclea Lincestis, founded by Filip II. Of Macedon, father of Alexander the Great. After the visit we continue to the Roman excavations of Stobi, once an important trading city. Near Stobi we stop by a winery to taste the famous Macedonian wines.

5.Day: Ohrid – Sveti Naum – OhridIn the morning we take a boat trip to the Monastery of Saint Naum. Near the monastery are also the springs of the Lake Ohrid, which we will explore by rowboat. By boat, we go in the afternoon back to Ohrid.

6.Day: Relaxing day

7.Day: Ohrid – Skopje Today we return to Skopje. We take the cable car to the mountain Vodno on around 1,000m above sea level. From here we have a unique view to the mountains of Macedonia and the neighboring countries. Then we visit the monastery Sv. Pantelemon, a unique testimony of Byzantine architecture. Check in at the hotel, farewell a typical Macedonian dinner with music awaits us at a restaurant in Skopje.

8.Day: Departure

ALBANIEN MIT OHRID

1. Tag: Anreise - DurresFlug nach Tirana, Transfer zu unserem Hotel in Durres.

2. Tag: Durres - Berat - Apollonia - VloraMorgens Fahrt nach Berat. Die Stadt der 1.000 Fenster und ihre noch heute bewohnte Festung zählen zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe. Danach weiter zu den Ausgrabungen von Apollonia. Nach der Besichtigung Weiterfahrt zu unserem Hotel in Vlora.

3. Tag: Vlora - Llogara Nationalpark - SarandaWir verlassen heute Vlora und fahren Richtung Norden. Einzigartige Natur erwartet uns im Llogara Nationalpark. Nächster Halt ist Himara. Abends erreichen wir Saranda, Abendessen und Übernachtung.

4. Tag: Saranda – Butrint – Ksamil - SarandaMorgens Fahrt nach Butrint – auch UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe. Bei Ausgrabungen wurde hier eine Vielzahl antiker Gebäude entdeckt. Ein wunderschönes, buntes Mosaik im Baptisterium zeigt zwei Pfauen und eine Vase mit Weintrauben. Am Rückweg nach Saranda halten wir noch in Ksamil und bestaunen das sogenannte „Blue Eye“. Hotel in Saranda.

5. Tag: Saranda – Gjirokaster – KorcaMorgens Fahrt nach Gjirokaster. Am Weg besichtigen wir noch das Kloster von Mesopotam. Die Stadt wird auch „Stadt der Steine“ genannt, wir besuchen die Festung. Danach weiter durch die Bergwelt Albaniens nach Korca, Bezug unseres Hotels.

6. Tag: Korca – OhridMorgens Besichtigung von Korca, danach führt unser Weg zur mazedonischen Grenze und zum berühmten Ohridsee. Die Stadt und der See sind Teil des UNESCO-

Weltkulturerbes. Am Weg besichtigen wir das Kloster Sv. Naum, in einzigartiger Natur eingebettet. Hier befinden sich auch die Quellen des Ohridsees, die wir bei einer Ruderbootsfahrt erkunden. Danach Fahrt zu unserem Hotel in Ohrid.

7. Tag: Ohrid – Elbasan – DurresWir beginnen unseren Tag mit einer kleinen Schifffahrt am See. Danach erkunden wir die Stadt zu Fuß und sehen die Festung des König Samuel wie auch einige der geschätzten 365 Kirchen der Stadt. Nachmittags geht es wieder zurück nach Albanien, nach Elbasan. Nach einer kurzen Besichtigung geht es wieder zur Küste. Nach unserer ausführlichen Stadtbesichtigung der Stadt Durres beziehen wir unser Hotel.

8. Tag: Durres - Kruja – Tirana – Durres.Fahrt nach Kruje, der Stadt des Nationalhelden Skanderbek. Wir sehen die beeindruckende Festung und die Altstadt mit dem orientalisch anmutenden Bazar. Danach weiter nach Tirana. Ausführliche Stadtbesichtigung. Abends Rückkehr zu unserem Hotel in Durres

ALBANIA & OHRID

Day 1 - Arrival - Durres Flight to Tirana, transfer to our hotel in Durres.

Day 2 - Durres - Berat - Apollonia - Vlora This morning we go to Berat, known as “The Town of 1.000 windows“ and UNESCO protected. Afterwards we will visit the Excavations of Apollonia. In the evening we reach to old capital of Albania, Vlora. Here is also our Hotel for tonight

Day 3 - Vlora - Llogara National Park - Saranda Today one of the Top Highlights of this trip awaits us. The Drive along the “Albanian Riviera”. First stop is Himara - a true gem hidden at the South of Albania. Hotel in Saranda.

Day 4 - Saranda - Butrint - Ksamil - Saranda This morning we go to Butrint – another ancient city under UNESCO protection. The excavations show us numerous ancient buildings of great importance, we will be impressed about the history of this place. On the way back to Saranda we make a stop in Ksamil to admire the natural, clear-blue spring known as "Blue Eye".

Day 5 - Saranda - Gjirokastra - Korca Today is the UNESCO protected town of Gjirokastra on our program. On the way we visit the Monastery of Mesopotam. Famously known as the "City of Stone", a visit of the fortress is also included. Then we continue through the unique mountains of Albania. Our Hotel for tonight is in the city of Korca.

Day 6 - Korce - Ohrid In the morning we make a tour in Korca, then we continue to the Macedonian border and arrive at the famous Lake Ohrid. On the way we visit the monastery of Sv. Naum, located in unique nature and surroundings. Not only the monastery but also the natural springs of the Lake Ohrid are waiting to be explored reaching them with a row boat. Overnight in Ohrid.

Day 7: Ohrid - Elbasan - Durres This morning is reserved to explore the UNESCO town of Ohrid. We start the day with a small boat trip on the lake. Afterwards we explore the city and see highlights

like the Fortress of King Samuel, as well as some of the 365 churches settled all over the city. In the afternoon we go back to Albania and stop by in the city of Elbasan. After a short visit, back to the coast. After a detailed sightseeing of Durres, check-in in our Hotel.

Day 8 - Durres - Kruja - Tirana - Durres This day we will go to Kruja. See the impressive fortress and the Old Town with its oriental-style Bazaar. In the afternoon we take a city tour in Tirana. Highlights like the Skanderbek Square with its magnificent Italian architecture and the former seat of Envher Hoxher await us.

Day 9 – Departure

GROSSE BALKANRUNDREISE

1. Tag: Anreise Flug nach Tirana. Fahrt nach Durres mit anschließender Stadtbesichtigung. Hotel in Durres.

2. Tag: Durres – Kruje – Shkoder – Bar – BudvaNach dem Frühstück fahren wir nach Kruje, die Stadt des Nationalhelden Skanderbek. Anschließend geht es weiter in die nördlichste Stadt Albaniens, nach Shkoder. Besichtigung der Festung Rozafa, danach passieren wir die Grenze zu Montenegro und halten in Stari Bar. Abends erreichen wir unser Hotel in Budva.

3. Tag: Budva – Cetinje – Njegusi – Kotor –Perast – Budva Fahrt in die alte Hauptstadt Cetinje. Hier sehen wir unter anderem den alten Königspalast. Danach weiter in das Bergdorf Njegusi, wo wir die Möglichkeit haben, den berühmten Rohschinken zu verkosten. Weiter geht es in den Fjord von Kotor. Nach unserer Stadtbesichtigung fahren wir weiter nach Perast wo wir ein Schiff besteigen und zur Klosterinsel Maria am Felsen fahren. Rückkehr zu unserem Hotel.

4. Tag: Budva – Dubrovnik – NeumEin weiteres Highlight erwartet uns. Nachdem wir die Grenze zu Kroatien überquert haben, erreichen wir die „Perle der Adria“ - Dubrovnik. Bei unserer 2-stündigen Führung sehen wir Highlights wie die Kathedrale oder die Stadtmauer. Nachmittags geht es dann weiter zu unserem Hotel in der bosnischen Küstenstadt Neum.

5. Tag: Neum – Mostar – SarajevoFahrt in die Stadt Neum, wo wir im Rahmen unserer Stadtbesichtigung auch die berühmte Brücke sehen werden. Danach weiter in die bosnische Hauptstadt Sarajevo, ausführliche Stadtbesichtigung. Danach Bezug unseres Hotels.

6. Tag: Sarajevo – Tuzla – BelgradBevor wir Bosnien-Herzegowina verlassen, halten wir noch in der Stadt Tuzla. Nach dem Rundgang in der Altstadt geht es weiter nach der serbische Hauptstadt Belgrad.

7. Tag: Belgrad – SkopjeVormittags erkunden wir die serbische Hauptstadt Belgrad. Wir sehen Highlights wie die Festung Kalemegdan, die Einkaufsstraße Knez Mihailova uvm, danach vorbei an Novi Sad zur mazedonischen Grenze, kurz danach erreichen wir die Hauptstadt Skopje. Abends erwartet uns ein typisch mazedonisches Abendessen mit Musik.

8. Tag: Skopje – OhridVormittags besichtigen wir Skopje. Wir sehen die Altstadt, der Festung Kale, dem großen Bazaar genauso wie die Neustadt mit dem Alexander-Brunnen und dem Mutter-Theresa-Haus. Nachmittags am Weg nach Ohrid halten wir noch in Tetovo, wo wir der „bunten“ Moschee einen Besuch abstatten. Abends erreichen wir unser Hotel in Ohrid.

9. Tag: Ohrid – TiranaDen heutigen Tag starten wir mit einer Bootsfahrt am Ohridsee. Der See ist ja einer der ältesten und tiefsten der Welt. Danach erkunden wir die UNESCO-Stadt zu Fuß und sehen Highlights wie die Festung des König Samuel wie auch die Kirche Sv. Periblebtos. Nachmittags über Elbasan zu unserem Hotel in Tirana.

10.Tag: Transfer zum FlughafenVormittags unternehmen wir noch eine Stadtrundfahrt in der albanischen Hauptstadt bevor uns der Bus zurück zum Flughafen Tirana bringt.

2. Day: Durres – Kruje – Shkoder – Bar – BudvaAfter breakfast we go to Kruje, famous because of the Albanian National Hero Skanderbek. After a guided tour in Kruje we continue to the most northern city of Albania - Shkoder. After the visit of the fortress Rozafa, we cross the border to Montenegro and continue to Stari Bar. In the evening we reach our Hotel in Budva.

3. Day: Budva – Cetinje – Njegusi – Kotor – BudvaOur first stop today is in the ancient capital Cetinje. Here we’ll see the Old Royal Palace. Then we continue to the mountain village Njegusi where we have the opportunity to taste the famous ham. Then we go to the Bay of Kotor, UNESCO Heritage. After our city tour we continue to Perast where we take a boat and go to the monastery island - Our Lady of the Rocks.

4.Day: Budva – Dubrovnik – NeumAnother highlight awaits us. After crossing the border with Croatia, we reach the "Pearl of the Adriatic " - Dubrovnik. (UNESCO Heritage) In our guided tour we see highlights such as the cathedral or the city walls. In the afternoon we reach our hotel in Neum – located in Bosnia.

5. Day: Neum – Mostar – SarajevoIn Mostar (UNESCO Heritage) we will see the famous bridge as a part of our city tour. Then we continue to the Bosnian capital Sarajevo. After our guided City Tour we reach our Hotel in Sarajevo.

6. Day: Sarajevo – Tuzla – BelgradeBefore we leave Bosnia and Herzegovina, we visit the city of Tuzla – famous for the salt production. After our tour in the old town we reach the Serbian capital Belgrade.

7. Day: Belgrade – SkopjeIn Belgrade we see highlights like the Kalemegdan Fortress, the main shopping street Knez Mihailova and much more. Passing through the city of Nis we cross the Macedonian border, shortly thereafter we reach the Capital Skopje. In the evening a typical Macedonian dinner with music in restaurant awaits us.

8. Day: Skopje – OhridIn the morning we have a guided tour in Skopje. We see the old town, the fortress Kale, the great Bazaar as well as the new town with Alexander Fountain and the Mother Theresa House. In the afternoon, we visit the "colored mosque” in Tetovo. Bei einer Schaffarm erwartet uns eine Käseverkostung. Kurz vor Debar besuchen wir das Kloster Sveti Jovan Bigorski. Weiter über Debar nach Ohrid zu unserem Hotel.

4. Tag: Ohrid – Sveti NaumVormittags besichtigen wir die heiligste Stadt des Landes, Ohrid – UNESCO Weltkulturerbe. Bei einer kleinen Bootsfahrt erkennen wir die einzigartige und zauberhafte Landschaft. Nachmittags fahren wir zum Ursprung des Ohrid-Sees, wo wir bei einer Fahrt mit dem Ruderboot die unterirdischen Quellen entdecken. Danach Besichtigung des Klosters Sveti Naum. Hotel in Ohrid.

5. Tag: Ohrid – Bitola – PelisterNach dem Frühstück fahren wir nach Bitola, wo wir zunächst die Ausgrabungen von Heraklea Lincestis besichtigen. Gegründet von Filip II. von Makedonien,

dem Vater von Alexander dem Großen. Danach eine kurze Stadtrundfahrt mit anschließender Mittagspause bevor wir zum Nationalpark Pelister fahren. 1. Day: Skopje – Kokino Flight to Skopje. With our bus we go to the unique stone monuments of Kokino, a megalithic observatory, about 4000 years old. In a list of NASA about archaeological observatories Kokino is places as number 4. Afterwards we go to our hotel in Skopje.

2. Day: Skopje In the morning we have a guided tour in Skopje. We see highlights like the Church Sveti Spas, the Kale fortress, the Turkish Old Town as well as modern Skopje with the Alexander fountain and the Memorial house of Mother Theresa. In the afternoon excursion to the Matka canyon, a natural zone with numerous endemic botanical species. In the evening a typically Macedonian dinner with folkloric music awaits us.

3. Day: Skopje – Mavrovo – Ohrid In the morning we leave Skopje and go first to the city of Tetovo where we visit the "coloured" mosque, a cultural heritage from osmanic time. Afterwards the second highlight of the journey is Mavrovo, settled in the national park of the same name. A unique mountain landscape expects us. We will taste the famous cheese of this region at a sheepfold. In the afternoon we visit the monastery of Sveti Jovan Bigorski, one of the most famous monasteries of the country. Hotel in Ohrid.

4. Day: Ohrid – Sveti Naum In the morning we visit the holiest town of the country, Ohrid – UNESCO world cultural heritage. We make a tour with a small boat and we can recognize the unique and enchanting scenery. The city counts around 365 churches and monasteries and is also called the “Jerusalem of the Balkan”. In the afternoon we go to the origin of the Ohrid lake where we discover the subterranean springs in a trip with a row boat. Afterwards visit of the monastery of Sveti Naum. This monastery is the most important monastery of the completely Macedonian Orthodox Church. Hotel in Ohrid.

5. Day: Ohrid – Bitola – Pelister After the breakfast we go to Bitola where we visit first the excavations of Heraklea Lincestis, founded by Filip II. of Macedon, father of Alexander the Great. Afterwards a short city tour before we drive to the Pelister national park. Check in at our hotel at about 1,400-m over sea-level, surrounded by unique nature. 6. Day: Pelister – Strumica – Berovo In the morning journey from Pelister past Prilep to the best known wine-growing area of Macedonia in the region of Kavadarci. 3. Tag: Ohrid – Sveti NaumWir beginnen unsere Stadtbesichtigung von Ohrid mit einer kurzen Schifffahrt am See. Danach geht es zu Fuß weiter, wo wir die bekanntesten Kirchen und natürlich auch die Festung des mazedonischen Königs Samuel besichtigen. Nachmittags fahren wir nach Sveti Naum, wo wir mit dem Ruderboot die unterirdischen Quellen des Ohrid-Sees bestaunen können. Als krönender Abschluss des Tages erwartet uns ein Besuch im Kloster Sveti Naum. Nächtigung in unserem Hotel in Ohrid.

4. Tag: Vlestovo – Elshani (ca. 3 Std. LeichteWanderung) Morgens Fahrt mit dem Bus nach Vlestovo. Hier startet unsere Wanderung, die uns durch eine traumhafte und für uns pittoreske Landschaft zum Dorf Elshani führt. Das gesamte Gebiet zwischen Prespa- und Ohridsee zählt zum Nationalpark Galicica und ist UNESCO-Weltnaturerbe. Nachmittags Freizeit in Ohrid, Nächtigung in Ohrid.

5. Tag: Nationalpark Galicica (ca. 4 Std. Mittlere Tour)Heute stehen zwei Wanderungen am Programm. Vormittags bringt uns der Bus zum Nationalpark Galicica. Wir erleben hier die einzigartige Vielfalt der Natur. Gegen Mittag erreichen wir unseren höchsten Punkt der heutigen Wanderung auf rund 1.400m. Hier machen wir ein Picknick im Grünen bevor es in Richtung Prespa-See geht. Wir erreichen Brajcino, wo wir bei

einer leichten Wanderung die wilden Flüsse der Region kennenlernen. Nächtigung in Ohrid.

6. Tag: Bitola – Prilep – KrusevoHeute heißt es Abschied nehmen vom Ohrid-See und wir fahren zunächst in die Stadt Bitola. Danach Besuch der antiken Stadt Heraklea Linkestis und Fahrt nach Prilep, wo wir die Möglichkeit zu einem Mittagessen haben. Als Höhepunkt erwartet uns das „hängende" Kloster nahe Prilep, wie ein Vogelnest in die Felsen gebaut. Abends erreichen wir unser Hotel in Krusevo.

7. Tag: Krusevo – Skopje (ca. 2 Std. Leichte Tour)Gestärkt vom Frühstück starten wir unsere Wanderung direkt vom Hotel. Ein einzigartiges Panorama erwartet uns bei diesem Rundwanderweg um Krusevo. Wir besuchen auch das Nationaldenkmal Mazedoniens. Ein fakultatives Mittagessen ist die ideale Unterlage zur nachfolgenden inkludierten Weinverkostung. HIKING TOUR MACEDONIA

1. Day: Mavrovo Flight to Skopje. Today according to your flight time we undertake a informative walk in Skopje (or day 8). Afterwards drive to our hotel in the region of Mavrovo.

2. Day: Mavrovo – Ohrid (3 hrs hike - medium) Today the massive mountains impress us first all around Mavrovo. An about 3-hours hike in the national park shows us for the first time the multiple beauties of the Macedonian nature. After the hike we have the optional possibility for a Macedonian lunch in the city of Debar. Afterwards weg o to our hotel in Ohrid.

3. Day: Ohrid – Sveti Naum We begin our guided tour of Ohrid with a short boat trip on the lake. Then we continue by foot to the old town where we visit the best known churches and of course also the fortress of the Macedonian King Samuel. In the afternoon we go to Sveti Naum where we undertake a trip with a row boat to see the subterranean springs of the Ohrid lake. As a crowning end of the day we visit the monastery of Sveti Naum.

4. Day: Vlestovo – Elshani (3 hrs hike - easy) In the morning we go by bus to Vlestovo. Here starts our hike which leads us to the village Elshani. The whole area between Prespa-and Ohrid lake is named Galicica National park and is an UNESCO-world nature heritage. In the afternoon free time in Ohrid, dinner and overnight in Ohrid.

5. Day: National park Galicica (4 hrs hike - middle) Today two hikes are in our program. In the morning the bus brings us to the national park Galicica where the first and also more difficult hike expects us. About midday we reach our highest point of our today`s hike on about 1,400 m above sea level. Here we make a picnic in the green before we go in the direction of Prespa lake. We reach Brajcino where we explore the wild rivers of the region with a light hike. Dinner and overnight in Ohrid

6. Day: Bitola – Prilep – Krusevo Today we leave the Ohrid lake and we go first in the city of Bitola. Afterwards visit of the antique city of Heraklea Linkestis and trip to Prilep where we have the possibility for a lunch. As a highlight of the day we visit the "hanging" monastery close to Prilep, like a bird's nest built in the rocks. In the evening we reach our hotel in the mountain city Krusevo.

7. Day: Krusevo – Skopje (1.5 hrs hike - easy) Strengthened by the breakfast we begin our hike directly from the hotel. We visit the national monument of Macedonia, before we continue by bus to the most famous wine-growing area of the country. An optional lunch is the ideal base for the following winetasting. Afterwards a small hike to a farm where ecological sheep's milk cheese is produced. In a good mood from the winetasting we reach in the evening our hotel in Skopje. At the end of this wonderful trip there is a Macedonian evening with music and specialities of the country.

5. Tag: Sandanski – Melnik mit WeinverkostungWir fahren in Richtung Süden nahe zur griechischen Grenze. Zunächst besichtigen wir den Kurort Sandanski und dann weiter zur kleinsten Stadt Bulgariens, nach Melnik. Hier steht auch noch eine Weinverkostung am Programm.

6. Tag: Wanderung - Die Vitoschaberge bei SofiaVormittags Fahrt mit dem Bus zum Vitoschagebirge. Von der Aleko-Hütte auf 1.800m wandern wir zu den

Wir wandern auf alten Saumpfaden und erreichen Kovachevitsa: ein lebendiges Architekturdenkmal mit 250 Jahre alten Häusern, die im ursprünglichen Zustand erhalten wurden. 4. Day: Hike Rila MonasteryIn the morning the bus brings us to the Rila Mountains. We walk to the grave of the founder of Rila Monastery and then we go back down to the Rila Monastery. The Rila Monastery is the largest monastery in Bulgaria with a 1000 year of history. Today it stands as World Heritage Site under protection. 5. Day: Sandanski – Melnik with wine tastingToday we recover from the walks at a cultural day trip. We continue towards the south, near the Greek border. First we visit the spa town of Sandanski and then we continue to the smallest city in Bulgaria – Melnik. Here we have a wine tasting, the region is famous for its wines.

6. Day: Hike - The Vitosha Mountain in SofiaIn the morning the bus brings us to Vitosha, which was declared a national park, bordering the capital. From

Aleko hut at 1.800 m, we walk to the stone rivers in the region Zlatni Mostovo (Golden Bridges). In the afternoon city tour in Sofia with visit of the Alexander Nevski Cathedral. In the evening we return to our hotel in Bansko. about 2,5 hours easy hike, about 5km, 150HM

7. Day: Hike in the legendary Rhodope MountainsThe legend says that here Orpheus have enchanted the wild animals with music. Drive along the river Mesta to the village Ognianovo. We walk along old mule tracks and reach Kovachevitsa; a living architectural monument with 250 year old houses that have been preserved in its original state. With narrow cobblestone streets, where almost touch the stone slab-covered roofs, Kovachevitsa has often been a film set. 3. Tag: Ganztagesausflug Chalkidiki Ihr erster Halt heute wird bei Neos Marmaras sein. Hier können Sie auch den köstlichen Blätterteig mit verschiedenen Füllungen probieren. Ein Stück weiter besuchen Sie eines der größten privaten Weingüter Europas, die Weinkellerei von Portas Karras. Nach einer köstlichen Weinprobe führt Sie der Weg bis zum großen Naturhafen von Porto Koufo. In der Ortschaft Sykia können Sie dann Ihr Mittagessen einnehmen. 4. Tag: Ganztagesausflug Meteora Klöster Zunächst geht die Fahrt durch eine langgestreckte, fruchtbare Ebene des Tampi-Tals nach Larissa und weiter nach Kalambaka. Plötzlich, kurz hinter Kalambaka, erheben sich die steilen Felskegel, die im Tal des Pinios, auf ihren Kuppen die berühmten byzantinischen Klöster beherbergen. In einem für Besucher zugänglichen byzantinischen Kloster, das mit das älteste in diesem Tal ist, besichtigen Sie dort die Kirche und den Speisesaal der Mönche. Rückfahrt zum Hotel.

5. Tag: Ganztagestagesausflug Berg Athos Heute steht, bei schönem Wetter und ruhiger See, eine herrliche Bootsfahrt zum Berg Athos auf dem Programm. In diesem, nur von Mönchen bewohntem

Gebiet, stehen bereits seit dem 7. Jh. bis heute etwa 20 Klöster. Nach einem kurzen Spaziergang fährt das Schiff weiter zum Hafen von Ouranoupolis, wo Sie nach einem kleinen Bummel in einer typischen Taverne zum Mittagessen einkehren können. Rückfahrt zum Hotel.

6. Tag: Ganztagesauflug Berg Olymp und Vergina Nach dem Frühstück beginnt Ihre interessante Fahrt zum Götterberg Olymp. Hier war die Heimat des Gottvaters Zeus. Bei dem Bergdorf Litochoron werden Sie Ihre erste Pause einlegen. Nach einem kleinen Bummel und einem ca. einstündigen Spaziergang zu den dortigen Wasserquellen fahren Sie weiter zur antiken Stadt Vergina. 3.Day: Chalkidiki Your first stop today will be at Neos Marmaras. Here you can also taste the delicious pastry with various fillings. A little further you can visit one of the largest private wineries in Europe, the winery of Portas Karras. After a wine tasting, you will travel to the great natural harbor of Porto Koufo. In the town of Sykia you can have lunch. Afterwards we go to Nikiti. Here we visit an apiary and taste the delicious honey. Return to the hotel.

4.Day: Meteora Monasteries We start the trip through an elongated, fertile plain of Tampi Valley to Larissa and on to Kalambaka. Suddenly, just behind Kalambaka, the steep cone harboring in the valley of the Pinios, on their summits the famous Byzantine monasteries rise. In an accessible for visitors Byzantine monastery which is the oldest in the valley, you will visit its church and the monastery dining room. Return to the hotel.

1. Tag: Kotor - Budva Anreise nach Montenegro. Nach der Landung statten wir einer der attraktivsten Regionen Montenegros einen Besuch ab - Kotor. Wir besichtigen unter anderem die Kathedrale Sv. Trifun und das Meeresmuseum. Danach Fahrt zu unserem Hotel.

2. Tag: Budva - Sveti Stefan - Petrovac Wir starten heute mit einem Stadtspaziergang in Budva. Danach unternehmen wir eine entspannte Bootsfahrt zur Insel Sveti Nikolaus. Entspannt geht es weiter zu einem Fotostop nahe der Insel Sveti Stefan, danach Besuch des Klosters Reszevici. Das ehemalige Fischerdorf Petrovac an einer schönen roten Sandbucht steht danach auf dem Programm. Abends Rückkehr zum Hotel.

3. Tag: Cetinje - Njegusi - Kotor Wir verlassen unser Hotel an der Küste. Schließlich erreichen wir die alte Hauptstadt des Landes, Cetinje. Der Besuch des berühmten Klosters steht ebenso auf dem Programm wie der des Nationalmuseums. Fahrt in das Dorf Njegusi. Hier erwartet uns ein typisches Mittagessen mit dem berühmten Rohschinken, Käse, Oliven und Tomaten, hausgemachtes Brot darf ebenso wenig fehlen. Nachmittags der nächste Höhepunkt der Reise - Kotor und nach einer kurzen Kaffeepause eine traumhafte Schifffahrt in der Bucht von Kotor, die uns vorbei an Perast nach Tivat bringt. Rückfahrt zum Hotel.

4. Tag: Bar - Skutarisee Heute morgen fahren wir zunächst in den Süden, zur Stadt Bar. Die Altstadt duckt sich im Schutz einer auf einem Felsen des Rumija Gebirges thronenden Burg. Erst im 19. Jhdt. entwickelte sich dann aus dieser verlassenen Siedlung der neue Stadtteil Novi Grad. Von dort gelangen wir zum Skutarisee und in den gleichnamigen Nationalpark. Nach dem Mittagessen in einem Restaurant direkt am Seeufer fahren wir dem Schiff hinaus und erreichen unter anderem das

ehemalige Staatsgefängnis „Montenegrinisches Alcatraz", eine verlassene Insel.

5. Tag: Ausflug Albanien Nach dem Frühstück Fahrt nach Albanien, den zweiten Anrainerstaat des Skutari-Sees. Die alte Handelsmetropole Shkodra (Skutari) bietet neben einer liebevoll restaurierten Altstadt vor allem die imposante Burg Rozafa. Anschliessend erwartet uns ein landestypisches Mittagessen in der Stadt Shkodra. Zurück in Montenegro statten wir der südlichsten Stadt, Ulcinj, einen Besuch ab. Hier, einstmals unter osmanischer Herrschaft, gab es einen berüchtigten Sklavenmarkt - einer der bekanntesten Sklaven war der spanische Dichter Miguel Cervantes.

6. Tag: Tara-Canyon Ein einzigartiges Naturerlebnis steht heute am Programm. Wir fahren zum Tara-Canyon, der zweittiefste Canyon der Welt nach dem Grand Canyon. Nach einem zauberhaften Picknick statten wir nachmittags noch der Hauptstadt Podgorica einen Besuch ab.

1. Day: Arrival in Montenegro After landing we visit one of the most attractive regions of Montenegro - Kotor. We visit the cathedral Sv. Trifun and the Maritime Museum. Then transfer to our booked hotel in Budva.

2. Day: Budva - Sveti Stefan - Petrovac Today we start with a city walk in Budva. Then we take a relaxing boat ride to the island of St. Nicholas. Relaxed we move to a photo stop near the island Sveti Stefan, then visit of the monastery Reszevici. The former fishing village Petrovac on a beautiful red sand beach is next on the agenda. Back to our hotel.

3. Day: Cetinje - Njegusi - Kotor We leave our hotel on the coast. We reach the ancient capital of the country, Cetinje. The visit of the famous monastery is also on the agenda as the National Museum. Then drive to the village of Njegusi. Here expects us a typcial lunch with the famous raw ham, cheese, olives and tomatoes. In the afternoon the next highlight of the trip, after a breathtaking descent we reach Kotor and after a short coffee break a fantastic cruise in the Bay of Kotor which takes us over to Perast and to Tivat. Back to the hotel.

4.Day: Bar - Skutari Lake This morning we drive to the South to the town Bar. The old town is protected by one on a rock of the Rumija mountains enthroned Castle. From there we go to the Skadar Lake and the National Park. After lunch in a restaurant directly on the Lakeshore, we take a ship and reach "Montenegrin Alcatraz", an abandoned Island including the former prison. Back to the hotel.

5.Tag: Excursion Albania After breakfast we go to Albania, the second coastal State of Scutari Lake. The old commercialtown Shkodër

(Scutari) especially the imposing Castle of Rozafa offers a beautifully restored old town. Then, a typical lunch in Shkodra awaits us. Back in Montenegro we visit the southernmost town of Ulcinj, once under Ottoman rule, there was a notorious slave market - one of the best known slaves was the Spanish poet Miguel Cervantes. Anschließend Rundfahrt in Prishtina, der Hauptstadt des Kosovo. Wir passieren die Grenze zu Mazedonien und erreichen die Hauptstadt Skopje. 3. Tag: Skopje – Mavrovo – OhridIn Skopje sehen wir u.a. die Altstadt, Festung Kale, der Kirche Sv. Spas und den großen Bazar, wie auch die Neustadt mit dem Alexander-Brunnen und dem Mutter-Theresa-Haus. Danach Fahrt über Tetovo in den Nationalpark Mavrovo. Wir besichtigen das Kloster Sv. Jovan Bigorski bevor wir abends wieder unser Hotel in Ohrid erreichen.

4. Tag: OhridWir fahren in das Zentrum der UNESCO-Stadt und gewinnen unsere ersten Eindrücke bei einer Bootsfahrt entlang der Promenade zur Kirche Kaneo. Von hier aus erkunden wir die Stadt zu Fuß und werden einige der insgesamt 365 Kirchen kennenlernen, wie auch die Festung des Königs Samuel. Rückfahrt zu unserem Hotel.

5. Tag: Ohrid – Berat – DurresHeute morgen fahren wir von Ohrid zur albanischen Grenze. Wir kommen zur UNESCO-Stadt Berat. Mit unserem Guide erkunden wir die architektonischen Highlights. 1.Day: Arrival Podgorica – Kolasin Flight to Podgorcia. Transfer to our Hotel in Kolasin with a photo break in Moraca Canyon.

2.Day: Kolasin – Pec – Prishtina – Skopje We leave Montenegro and reach Kosovo. We will visit the Patriarchal Church in Pecs. Short city tour in Prishtina. We cross the border to Macedonia and reach the capital Skopje in the early evening. In the evening a traditional Macedonian dinner with music awaits us.

3.Day: Skopje – Mavrovo – Ohrid In the morning guided tour in Skopje, then we go to the Mavrovo National Park. We visit the monastery Sv. Jovan Bigorski, in the evening we reach our hotel in the UNESCO protected city of Ohrid.

4.Day: Ohrid We start our day with a boat trip along the promenade to the church Kaneo. From here we explore the city by foot and we will see some of the 365 churches, as well as the fortress of King Samuel. Free time in the afternoon.

Weiter geht es zur Stadt Kraljevo, wo auch das Kloster Zica mit der Krönungskirche liegt. Danach geht es weiter zur serbischen Hauptstadt Belgrad.

3. Tag: Belgrad – Novi Sad – BelgradIn Belgrad sehen wir Highlights wie die Festung Kalemegdan, die Kirche Sv. Sava wie auch die berühmte Einkaufsstraße Knez Mihailova. Nachmittags unternehmen wir einen Ausflug in die Vojvodina und lernen die Stadt Novi Sad – zu deutsch Neusatz – näher kennen. Abends kehren wir zurück zu unserem Hotel in Belgrad.

Im nahen Arbanassi unternehmen wir einen Rundgang durch das Museumsdorf mit festungsähnlichen Häusern aus dem 16. und 17. Jhdt. und besuchen eine der ältesten Kirchen des Balkans.

4. Tag: Veliko Tarnovo – Shumen – Madara –Varna Der erste Höhepunkt des Tages ist Shumen mit der Tombul-Moschee. Unweit von Shumen befindet sich Madara mit seinem frühmittelalterlichen Felsenrelief eines Reiterstandbildes. Westlich von Varna liegt die Landschaft „Pobitite Kamani“, der „Steinwald“. Wir fahren weiter an die Küste nach Varna.

5. Tag: Varna – Nessebar – KazanlakEntlang der Schwarzmeerküste erreichen wir Nessebar. Hier sehen wir die höchstinteressante byzantinische Stefanskirche, deren Ursprünge auf das Mittelalter zurückgehen. Nachmittags kommen wir nach Kazanlak. nach Plovdiv. Die Stadt zählt zu den größten und schönsten Städten Thrakiens. Besonders sehenswert sind die während der nationalen Wiedergeburt Mitte des 19. Jhdts. entstandenen typischen Plovdiver Patrizierhäuser, die mit Malereien und Schnitzereien versehen sind. Nach der Stadtbesichtigung weiter zu unserem Hotel im Luftkurort Bankso.

7. Tag: Bansko – Rila Kloster – SofiaUnser erstes Ziel ist Rila, die größte Klosteranlage Bulgariens aus dem 10. Jhdt. Die Hauptklosterkirche Sweta Bogorodiza ist eine Fünfkuppelkirche mit zwei seitlichen Kapellen. Anschließend fahren wir nach Sofia, die Hauptstadt Bulgariens. Wir besichtigen die Alexander Newski-Kathedrale, die größte Kirche der Balkanhalbinsel, die zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe zählt.

3. Day: Nis – Veliko Tarnovo After breakfast we continue our trip to Bulgaria andarrive in Veliko Tarnovo. We see the excavations of theancient fortress on the Tsarevets Hill, several churches and the old town with its cobbled side street. In thenearby village Arbanassi we take a tour in the museumvillage with fortress-like houses from the 16th and 17th century, and visit one of the oldest churches in theBalkans.

4. Day: Veliko Tarnovo – Shumen – Madara – VarnaThe first highlight of the day is the Shumen Tombul Mosque. Not far from Shumen is Madara with his earlymedieval rock relief of an equestrian statue. Close to Varna is the landscape " Pobitite Kamani " - " The StoneDesert. The sand and sparse vegetation give thelandscape the appearance of a desert. We continue to Varna.

5. Day: Varna – Nessebar – KazanlakAlong the Black Sea coast we reach Nessebar. Here we see the interesting Byzantine Stefan church, whoseorigins date back to the middle Ages. In the afternoon we arrive in Kazanlak. From here comes the famous and precious rose oil, which thrives on big rose fields and is produced for centuries.

6. Day: Kazanlak – Tjulbe – Plovdiv – BanskoOf course, on this trip we can’t miss the visit of a Rosedistillery. Afterwards we go to Plovdiv. The city is oneof the largest and most beautiful cities of Thrace. Of particular interest is the National Revival during the

7. Day: Bansko – Rila Kloster – Sofia Our first highlight today is Rila, the largest monastery in Bulgaria from the 10th century. Danach geht es zu Fuss weiter, um die wichtigsten Gebäude und Kirchen der Stadt zu erkunden. Abends erreichen wir unser Hotel in Bitola. 4. Tag: Bitola – Heraklea – Ioannina – Kalampáka Nach dem Frühstück Besuch der Ausgrabungen von Heraklea Lincestis, eine Stadt der antiken Makedonier, gegründet von Filip II. Danach geht es zur griechischen Grenze und zur bekannten Stadt Ioannina. Hier besichtigen wir die Zitadelle mit dem Ali-Pascha-Mausoleum und machen einen Spaziergang durch die Altstadt. 4. Day: Bitola – Heraklea – Ioannina – KalampákaAfter breakfast we visit the ancient city of Heraclea Lincestis, founded by the Macedonian Leader Filip II, father of Alexander the Great. Then we cross the Greek border and visit the famous city of Ioannina. Here we will see the Citadel with the Mausoleum of Ali Pasha and take a walk through the old town. 5. Day: Kalampáka – Meteora – ThessalonikiAnother highlight of our journey awaits us. After breakfast trip to the famous Meteora monasteries. 3. Tag: Belgrad – Eisernes Tor – BelgradHeute fahren wir zum berühmten Eisernen Tor, gelegen im Nationalpark Djerdap. Auf dem Weg besichtigen wir die Festung Golubac, danach erreichen wir Donji Milanovac. Hier wartet bereits unser Schiff, das uns in rund 1,5 Stunden durch die zauberhafte Natur des Eisernen Tores bringt. Abends Rückkehr zu unserem Hotel in Belgrad.

CITY BREAK BELGRADE 1.Day: Novi Sad – BelgradDrive to Serbia . We stop by Novi Sad and visit the " old Austrian " city that was known in the monarchy under the name „Neusatz“. Then we continue to our hotel in Belgrade.

2.Day: Belgrad In the morning detailed city tour of Belgrade- Kalemegdan Fortress , Knez Mihailova Street and the biggest Orthodox church , Sv. Sava. The afternoon is for our own inquiries at leisure. In the afternoon awaits us a magnificent drive along the Sava River by boat with included dinner.

3.Day: Belgrad – Iron Gate – Belgrad We go to the famous Iron Gate, located in the National Park Djerdap. On the way we visit the fortress Golubac, then we reach Donji Milanovac. During our boat trip approximately 1.5 hours through the enchanting nature we’ll reach the Iron Gate. In the evening return to our hotel in Belgrade.

1.Tag: Ankunft DubrovnikFlug nach nach Dubrovnik, danach Fahrt in die Stadt und gemeinsames Mittagessen. Anschließend ausführliche Stadtbesichtigung der „Perle der Adria“, wir sehen u.a. die Kathedrale sowie das Franziskanerkloster mit der ältesten Apotheke Europas.

2.Tag: Ganztagesausflug MontenegroHeute geht es nach Montenegro. Wir fahren entlang dem einzigen Fjord Südeuropas, dem Fjord von Kotor und erreichen die Barockstadt Perast. Hier nehmen wir ein Schiff und setzen über zur Klosterinsel Maria am Felsen. Wieder zurück am Festland halten wir bei einer alten Mühle, wo wir unser Mittagessen einnehmen. Nachmittags erreichen wir die UNESCO-Stadt Kotor, ausführliche Besichtigung. Danach geht es wieder zurück nach Dubrovnik zu unserem Hotel.

3.Tag: Dubrovnik – Trebinje – FlughafenMorgens fahren wir zur bosnischen Grenze und weiter zur Stadt Trebinje, Teil der Republika Srpska. Die Stadt ist heute nach der Renovierung ein Schmuckkästchen. Bei unserer Stadtführung sehen wir neben dem Kloster und der Kirche auch den renovierten Uhrturm am Ufer der Trebisjnica. Nach dem gemeinsamen Mittagessen kurzer Transfer zum Flughafen und Rückflug.

1. Day: Arrival DubrovnikFlight to Dubrovnik, Transfer tot he city, here we’ll have lunch. Afterwards detailed city tour of the "Pearl of the Adriatic", we see the Cathedral and the Franciscan monastery with the oldest pharmacy in Europe. Transfer to our Hotel.

2. Day: Full day excursion MontenegroToday we visit Montenegro. We drive along the only fjord in southern Europe, the Bay of Kotor and reach the baroque town of Perast. Here by boat we reach the island monastery Our Lady of the Rocks. Once back on the mainland, we stop at an old mill where we have lunch. In the afternoon we reach the UNESCO town of Kotor, detailed tour with our guide. Then we go back to our hotel in Dubrovnik.

3. Day: Dubrovnik – Trebinje – AirportIn the morning after crossing the Bosnian border we visit the town of Trebinje, part of the Republic Srpska. After the renovation the city is a jewel box. In our city tour besides the monastery and the church we see also the renovated Clock Tower on the banks of Trebisjnica. After lunch short transfer to the airport.

Day 5: Sarande – Corfu (Greece) In the morning transfer to the port of Sarande. We´ll take the speedboat to the beautiful island of Corfu. Upon arrival we will make a guided tour on the island and we´ll visit also the Achillion, once favorite spot of the Austrian Empress Sissi, as well as the island's capital Kerkyra (Corfu Town). Day 6-8: Corfu Day 9: Corfu – Sarandë (Albania) – Gjirokastër – Vlorë In the morning we will go back to Albania with the speed boat. Arrival in Sarande and we continue to the UNESCO World Heritage Site city Gjirokastër. Guided tour and visit of the Ethnographic Museum. In the evening we arrive at our Hotel in Vlorë.

Weiter geht es nach Sremski Karlovci. Hier besuchen wir die alte Patriarchatkirche. Besuch der Festung Petrovar an der Donau in Novi Sad. Rückweg nach Belgrad, kurze Besichtigung des Klosters Krusedol. Abendessen in einem traditionellen Restaurant in Belgrad.

3. Tag: Belgrad – Oplenac – Zica – StudenicaMorgens verlassen wir Belgrad und fahren zunächst nach Oplenac. Hier besuchen wir die orthodoxe Kirche und das Mausoleum. Weiterfahrt zum Kloster Zica. Nach einer Mittagspause, Fahrt nach Studenica. Nächtigung im Kloster Studenica.

4. Tag: Studenica – Sopocani – Decani – Pec – SkopjeMorgens Fahrt zum Kloster Sopocanin, aus dem 13. Jahrhundert. Fahrt nach Kosovo. Hier Besuch des Klosters Visoki Decani. Die ehemalige Patriachatskirche von Pecs aus dem 13. Jahrhundert ergänzt unser kulturelles Programm. Weiter geht es zur mazedonischen Hauptstadt Skopje. Wir fahren auf den Hausberg Vodno. Hier Besuch des Klosters Sv. Panteleimon. Hotel in Skopje

5. Tag: Skopje – Markov KlosterNach dem Frühstück Besichtigung von Skopje. Zuerst sehen wir die Altstadt mit der Kirche Sv. Spas, der Festung Kale, eine Moschee aus dem 14. Jahrhundert, die alte Steinbrücke sowie die Neustadt mit dem Alexander-Brunnen und dem Mutter-Teresa-Haus. Nachmittags Ausflug zum Kloster Markov. Abends erwartet uns ein landestypisches Abendessen mit Musik in einem Restaurant in Skopje. Hotel in Skopje.

6. Tag: Skopje – Tetovo – Struga – OhridFahrt nach Tetovo, wo wir die "bunte" Moschee aus dem 16. Jahrhundert besuchen. Fahrt durch den Nationalpark Mavrovo. Besuch des Klosters Sv. Jovan Bigorski. Wir erreichen Struga, nahe der Stadt besuchen wir mit Kalista und Radozda Höhlen-Klöster. Hotel in der UNESCO-Stadt Ohrid.

7. Tag: OhridWir beginnen den Tag mit einer Schifffahrt am See, danach erkunden wir die Stadt zu Fuss und sehen unter anderem die Festung des Königs Samuel und die Kirchen St. Periblebtos und Sv. Sofia. Nach der Mittagspause Fahrt zum Heiligtum von Sv. Naum. Zuerst unternehmen wir eine kleine Fahrt mit dem Ruderboot zu den unteriridischen Quellen des Ohrid-Sees bevor wir das Kloster selbst besichtigen. Hotel in Ohrid.

8. Tag: Ohrid – Bitola – Prilep – DojranFahrt nach Bitola. Wir unternehmen einen Stadtspaziergang, anschliessend Besuch der Ausgrabungen von Heraklea Lincestis. Von Bitola Fahrt nach Prilep, wo wir das Kloster des Erzengel Michael besuchen. Zu Mittag erwartet uns eine Degustation der mazedonischen Weine mit einem kleinen Imbiss. Hotel am Dojransee.

9. Tag: Strumica – Stobi – Kumanovo – NisMorgens Besuch der berühmten Wasserfälle von Smolari nahe Strumica. Danach sehen wir noch 2 bekannte Klöster, Veljeusa und Vodoca. Fahrt nach Kumanovo. Das Kloster Staro Nagoricane Sv. Georg aus dem 14. Jahrhundert beendet unsere Besichtigungen in Mazedonien. In Serbien angekommen Besuch der Stadt Nis mit Besuch des berühmten Schädelturms. Hotel im Raum Nis.

10. Tag: Nis – BelgradTransfer zum Flughafen Belgrad und Heimreise.

4. Day: Studenica - Sopocani - Decani - Pec - SkopjeIn the morning we visit the monastery Sopocanin. Afterwards we cross the border to Kosovo. Here we visit the Decani monastery and also the famous monastery from Pécs. Then we continue to the Macedonian capital Skopje. We go up to the local mountain Vodno. Here we visit the monastery Sv. Panteleimon. Hotel in Skopje

5. Day: Skopje - Markov MonasteryAfter breakfast visit of Skopje. First we see the old town with the Church Sveti Spas, a mosque from the 14th century, fortress Kale, the old stone bridge, the new town, the Mother Teresa House. In the afternoon excursion to the Markov monastery. In the evening, a typical dinner with music at a restaurant in Skopje awaits us. Hotel in Skopje.

6. Day: Skopje - Tetovo - Struga - OhridWe drive to Tetovo, where we visit the "colorful" mosque. Journey through the National Park of Mavrovo, where we take some photo stops and a coffee break. Visit of the monastery Sv. Jovan Bigorski. In Debar on the shores of the Lake time for lunch. We arrive in Struga, near the city we experience with Kalista and Radozda cave monasteries. Hotel in the UNESCO city Ohrid.

7. Day: OhridWe start the day with a boat trip on the Lake, we explore the city on foot and see the King Samuel fortress and the churches St. Climent, Sv. Sofia. After lunch, trip to the monastery of Sv. Naum. First we will take a little ride with a row boat to the underground sources of the Ohrid Lake before we visit the monastery. Hotel in Ohrid.

8. Day: Ohrid - Bitola - Prilep - StrumicaDrive to Bitola. We will take a city tour, visit of the ruins of Heraclea Lincestis, founded by Filip II. Journey to Prilep, where we visit the monastery of the Archangel Michael, settled on a rock. A tasting of the Macedonian wines with a little snack awaits us for lunch. Hotel in the area of Strumica.

9. Day: Strumica - Stobi - Kumanovo - NisAfter breakfast we visit the famous waterfalls of Smolari near Strumica. Then we see two wellknown monasteries, Veljeusa and Vodoca. Drive to Kumanovo. The monastery Staro Nagoričane Sv. George from the 14th century ends our sightseeing in Macedonia. We visit the city of Nis with the famous skull fortress from the 19th century. Hotel in Nis.

10. Day: Nis - Belgrade (Airport)


DIE SCHÄTZE VON BYZANZ 1. Tag: Anreise Sofia – PlovdivFlug nach Sofia. Mit dem Bus und Guide wir sehen bei der Stadtrundfahrt die türkische Moschee und die Aleksander-Nevski-Kathedrale. Weiterfahrt nach Plovdiv. Hier sehen wir noch das römische Theater und das Stadion, bevor wir unser Hotel beziehen.

2. Tag: Plovdiv – Edirne – IstanbulFahrt zur türkischen Grenze. Kurz danach erreichen wir die Stadt Edirne. Das erste orientalische Flair verzaubert uns. Danach etwas Freizeit. Weiter nach Istanbul.

3. Tag: IstanbulHeute steht eine ganztägige Stadtrundfahrt in Istanbul am Programm. Wir sehen sowohl den europäischen als auch den asiatischen Teil dieser Metropole. Höhepunkte wie die Blaue Moschee und die Hagia Sophia erwarten uns. Hotel in Istanbul

Zunächst besichtigen wir die römischen Ausgrabungen von Stobi, in der Zeit von Byzanz eine der mächtigsten Städte der Region. Zur Mittagszeit verkosten wir die einzigartigen Weine der Region bevor es weiter nach Bitola. Nahe der Stadt

Besichtigung der wichtigen Ausgrabungen von Heraklea Lyncestis, gegründet von Filip II. von Makedonien. Abends erreichen wir unser Hotel in Ohrid.

8. Tag: OhridHeute beginnen wir mit einer Schifffahrt am See und erleben den Zauber von Ohrid vom Wasser aus. Wir erreichen das Wahrzeichen – die Kirche Kaneo, von dort erkunden wir die Stadt zu Fuß und sehen einige der insgesamt 365 Kirchen und Klöster, die meisten aus byzantinischer Zeit. THE TREASURES OF BYZANTIUMDay 1: Arrival Sofia – Plovdiv Flight to Sofia. By our included guided city tour we see highlights such as the Turkish mosque and the Aleksander Nevski Cathedral. Afterwards we continue to Plovdiv. Here we see the Roman theater and the stadium, before we go to our hotel.

Day 2: Plovdiv – Edirne – Istanbul Today we cross the Turkish border. Stop in the city Edirne. The first oriental flair enchants us. In the evening we arrive in Istanbul.

Day 3: Istanbul Full day guided Tour in Istanbul. We see the European and the Asian part of the metropolis. Highlights such as the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia await us. Hotel in Istanbul

Day 4: Boat trip on the Bosporus Boat trip on the Bosporus, that separates Europe from Asia. We thereby experience the city from the water.

Day 5: Istanbul – Kavala We leave this morning Turkey and cross the Greek border. We arrive in Kavala, make a guided tour then we check in at our hotel in Kavala.

Day 6: Kavala – Philippi – Thessaloniki In the morning we will visit the archaeological site of Philippi. Afterwards we go to Thessaloniki, the second largest city of Greece. During our guided tour we see the landmark, the White Tower as well as the bycantic ruins in the city. Hotel in Thessaloniki.

Day 7: Thessaloniki – Stobi – Bitola – Ohrid Today we leave Greece and reach the Republic of Macedonia. First we visit the Roman excavations of Stobi. Here we taste also the unique wines of the region. In the afternoon we reach Bitola. Here we see the important excavations of Heraklea Lyncestis, founded by Filip II. of Macedon. In the evening we arrive in the UNESCO-town Ohrid.

Day 8: Ohrid Today we start with a boat trip on the lake and experience the magic of Ohrid from the water. We reach the landmark - the church Kaneo, from there we will explore the city on foot and see some of the 365 churches and monasteries, most of the Byzantine period.

9. Day: Ohrid – Tetovo – SkopjeToday we leave Ohrid and go along a beautiful mountain scenery to Tetovo, where we will visit the colorful mosque. Then we continue to the Macedonian capital Skopje. Here we see the old town with the church of Sv. Spas and the Kale Fortress as well as the New Town with Alexander Fountain and the Mother Teresa House. 3. Tag: Bansko – Melnik – ThessalonikiMorgens in die Stadt Melnik, die kleinste bulgarische Stadt. Hier machen wir eine Pause und erleben die historischen Seiten der Stadt, immerhin sind 96 Häuser denkmalgeschützt. Danach verlassen wir Bulgarien und fahren südwärts nach Thessaloniki. Bei unserer Stadtrundfahrt sehen wir u.a. Höhepunkte wie das Wahrzeichen der Stadt, den weißen Turm, Bauwerke aus römischer und byzantinischer Zeit sowie einige der zahlreichen Kirchen der Stadt. Danach Bezug unseres Hotels.

4. Tag: Thessaloniki – Vergina – MeteoraNach dem Frühstück fahren wir zu den Ausgrabungen von Vergina, hier befindet sich ja der Grabhügel von Filip II. von Mazedonien. Danach Fahrt zu den berühmten Meteora-Klöstern. Eine einzigartige Kulisse erwartet uns. Das ganze Gebiet der Klöster ist UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe. Insgesamt besteht die Anlage aus 24 Klöstern und Eremitagen, wovon noch 6 heute bewohnt sind. Nach einer Führung in einem der Klöster Weiterfahrt beziehen wir unser Hotel im Raum Kalampaka.

5. Tag: Kalampaka – Bitola – OhridHeute verlassen wir Griechenland und fahren zunächst zur griechisch-mazedonischen Grenze. Nach kurzer Fahrt erreichen wir die zweitgrößte

Stadt Mazedoniens, Bitola. Nach einem Stadtspaziergang Panoramafahrt in den Raum Ohrid, vorbei am Nationalpark Pelister zum Nationalpark Galicica. Wir besuchen eines der wichtigsten Klöster des Landes, Sveti Naum. Bei einer Ruderbootfahrt sehen wir auch die unterirdischen Quellen des Ohrid-Sees. Danach Fahrt zu unserem Hotel in Ohrid.

6. Tag: OhridDer heutige Tag steht ganz im Zeichen der unter UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe stehenden Stadt Ohrid, das Heilige Zentrum der Orthodoxen Kirchen. Nicht weniger als 365 Kirchen und Klöster befinden sich im Raum Ohrid. Bei einer Bootsfahrt sehen wir das einzigartige Panorama entlang des tiefsten Sees Europas. Bei der anschließenden Besichtigung sehen wir die Festung des Königs Samuel sowie die zauberhafte Altstadt mit ihrem einzigartigen Charme. Der Nachmittag steht für eigene Erkundigungen zur Verfügung. BULGARIA – GREECE - MACEDONIADay 1: Arrival in Sofia

Day 2: Sofia – Rila – BanskoIn the morning guided Tour in Sofia. Afterwards we continue to the UNESCO Heritage RilaMonastery – one of the most important orthodox monasteries in the world. Afterwardswe continue to our hotel in Bansko.

Day 3: Bansko – Melnik – Thessaloniki After breakfast we visit the smallest town in Bulgaria - Melnik. After our guided tour in this Museum City we cross the border to Greece and arrive in Thessaloniki. We will see Highlights such us the landmark – the White Tower as well as ancient ruins from the time of the Romans andByzanz.

Day 4: Thessaloniki – Vergina – Meteora Today we will visit the ancient city of Vergina before we explore the world famous MeteoraMonasteries, also UNESCO Heritage. We will visit one of the total 24 monasteries, afterwards we go to our Hotel in Kalambaka.

Day 5: Kalampaka – Bitola – Ohrid Today we leave Greece and cross the border toMacedonia. We visit the old diplomatic capitolBitola before we make a breathtaking drive to Ohrid. Close to Ohrid we explore the MonasterySveti Naum and also the origins of the Ohrid Lake. In the evening we arrive in the UNESCO town Ohrid.

Day 6: Ohrid This day is reserved for this beautiful town. We start our day with a Boat Trip on the Lake and can feel the magic of this city. Afterwards guided tour

with highlights such us the King Samuel Fortress and some of the 365 Churches and monsteries. Ohrid is also called the Jerusalem of the Balkan.

Day 7: Ohrid – Tetovo – Skopje In the morning we leave Ohrid and continue to Tetovo, where we will visit the colored mosque. The afternoon is reserved for the capitol of Macedonia – Skopje.
