Die LUCEM GmbH stellt seit 2007 lichtleitende Betonele-mente her. Seit Juni 2019 besteht eine Kooperation zwi-schen LUCEM und Holcim Deutschland (www.holcim.de). Ziel der Zusammenarbeit ist es, die jeweiligen Stärken der Partner für optimierte Produktionsschritte und verbesserte Vertriebswege zu nutzen sowie gemeinsam weitere neue Ideen für transluzente Betonprodukte zu entwickeln.Design und Lichttechnik liegen bei LUCEM, Holcim küm-mert sich primär um den passenden Beton, um die Groß-serienfertigung in eigenen Betonfertigteilwerken der Toch-terfirma VETRA Betonfertigteilwerke GmbH und um neue Marketing- und Vertriebswege.

Speziell für die Produkte von LUCEM hat Holcim das Spe-zialbindemittel Holcim EcoFlow entwickelt. EcoFlow bildet stets die Basis für die jeweiligen Produkte bzw. Projekte maßgeschneiderten Betonzusammensetzungen.

Die Sonderbetone für die Lichtbetonelemente von LUCEM müssen sehr fließfähig sein, um zwischen die Lichtfasern zu gelangen. Gleichzeitig sind sehr hohe Früh- und End-festigkeiten gefragt. Da die meist sehr filigranen, großflä-chigen Bauteile zu dekorativen Zwecken eingesetzt wer-den, müssen zusätzlich die Farbgleichmäßigkeit garantiert und jegliche Formänderungen wie Schwinden und Auf-schüsseln ausgeschlossen sein.

Founded in 2007 as a start-up from RWTH Aachen uni-versity, LUCEM developed worldwide activities and provi-ded customized artwork references with shining concrete. Dr. Andreas Roye is the highly engaged founder of Lucem. He has a master and PhD degree from RWTH university in Aachen since 2007 and immediately founded his own company to design the world with stunning light solutions. Today, 2019, LUCEM provides a full package for installati-ons of high-class indoor and outdoor illumination.

LUCEM GmbH has been producing light conducting concrete elements since 2007. The founder of Lucem LUCEM and Holcim Germany have been cooperating since June 2019 (www.holcim.de). The aim of the cooperation is to use the respective strengths of the partners for optimized production steps and improved distribution channels and to develop further new ideas for translucent concrete products. LUCEM is responsible for design and lighting technology, while Holcim is primarily concerned with finding the right concrete, with large-scale production in its own precast con-crete plants of its subsidiary VETRA Betonfertigteilwerke GmbH and with new marketing and distribution channels. Holcim has developed the special binder Holcim EcoFlow especially for LUCEM products. EcoF-low always forms the basis for concrete compositi-ons tailored to the respective products or projects. The special concretes used for LUCEM‘s translucent con-crete elements must be highly free-flowing in order to get between the optical fibers. At the same time very the strengths are required. As the mostly very filigree, large-area elements are used for decorative purposes, colour uniformity must be guaranteed and any changes in shape such as shrinkage and disintegration must be excluded.

The translucent effect is created by embedded optical fibers which trans-mit light through the concrete. Which creates a translucent appearence.The embedded optical fiber structu-res allow the objects to form a dy-namic play of light depending on the incidence of light which elegantly cat-ches the eye.

LUCEM STARLIGHT

Punktuelle Transparenz - Wirkung eines Sternenhimmels

Lichtleitende Fasern unterschiedli-chen Durchmessers sind in unregel-mäßigen Abständen angeordnet.

Dadurch entsteht die Wirkung eines Sternenhimmels in dem diegrößeren Lichtpunkte hervortreten und dem Beton eine dreidimensional anmutende Leuchtkraft verleihen.

Selective Translucency - The Im-pression of a starry sky light effect.

Optical fibers in different diame-ter are emdedded in an irregular pattern.

This creates the effect of a starry sky in which the larger light points stand out and give the concrete a three-dimensional luminosity.

Gleiche Betonrezeptur, aber ohne lichtleitende Fasern. LUCEM PURE eignet sich hervorra-gend zur Herstellung großer Be-ton-Fassadenelemente. Durch das Einbringen unserer lichtleitenden Produkte, LUCEM LINE oder LU-CEM STARLIGHT ergibt sich so ein einheitliches Obenflächen-Design mit optischen Highlights.
