6Menu Functions

Operation:With the keypad and the integrated display of the Drger X-am 7000.

Key : For moving upwards in the menus. Pressed for more than four seconds in measuring mode: activates

Info Mode.

Key : Pressed briefly: opens the Quick Menu. Pressed for more than four seconds: opens the Main Menu. For moving downwards in the menus.

Key : For confirming entered values and for selecting menus and

functions.

Menu Structure

In addition to the normal measuring mode, further operator functions are provided in menu mode. This is sub-divided into several levels, namely: Quick menu , Info , Calibration and Settings .

Quick menu This menu can be accessed freely by briey pressing the key.It contains a list of functions which the user can set up to meet his individual requirements, as described on page 12.

Menstruktur

Neben dem Messbetrieb gibt es weitere Bedienfunktionen im Men-betrieb. Der Menbetrieb gliedert sich in mehreren Ebenen: Quickmen , Info , Kalibrierung und Einstellungen .

Quickmen Der Zugang zu diesem Men ist frei zugnglich Taste kurz drcken.Dieses Men enthlt eine vom Benutzer zusammengestellte Auswahl von Funktionen, siehe Seite 12.

7Menu Info This menu can be accessed with any of the passwords Info , Calibration or Settings and contains various information about the instrument, the sensors and the exposure values.

Menu Calibration This menu can be accessed with either of the passwords Calibration or Settings and permits the calibration of the sensors.Access to this menu should be granted only to persons from the maintenance department.

Menu Settings This menu can be accessed only with the password Settings and permits setting of individual instrument and sensor parameters. Access to this menu should be granted only to persons from the measurement and regulation department and the safety department.

The passwords for the menus Info , Calibration and Settings can be changed as described on page 43 to page 44.

Default passwords:

Men Info Der Zugang zu diesem Men ist mit dem Kennwort Info , Kalibrierung und Einstellungen mglich. Das Men enthlt eine Reihe von Informationen ber das Gert, die Sensoren und der Expo-sitionswerte.

Men Kalibrierung Der Zugang zu diesem Men ist mit dem Kennwort Kalibrung und Einstellungen mglich. Dieses Men ermglicht das Kalibrieren der Sensoren.Zugangsberechtigt sollten Personen der Werksinstandsetzung sein.

Men Einstellungen Der Zugang zu diesem Men ist nur mit dem Kennwort Einstellungen mglich. Dieses Men ermglicht die Einstellung von individuellen Gerte- und Sensorparameter. Zugangsberechtigt sollten autorisierte Personen der Mess- und Regelungsabteilung oder der Arbeitssicherheit sein.

Die Kennwrter fr die Mens Info , Kalibrierung und Einstellungen knnen gendert werden, Seite 43 bis Seite 44.

Switching to Menu mode

Briefly press the key to open the Quick menu or

Press and hold the key for more than four seconds to open the menu. You will then be prompted for the password.

Entering the password

In measuring mode: Press and hold the key for more

than four seconds. You will then be prompted for the password.

Use the key to select the line Enter password and press the key.

The input screen opens.

Use the and keys to set of the four digits of the password, pressing the key to conrm each digit.

After you have conrmed the last digit, the menu corresponding to the entered password is opened.If the entered password is invalid, a suitable error message is displayed.

Kennwort eingeben

Im Messbetrieb: Taste lnger als 4 Sekunden

drcken die Funktion zur Eingabe des Kenn-worts wird aufgerufen.

Mit Taste die Zeile Kennwort eingeb. whlenund Taste drcken.

Die Eingabeanzeige erscheint.

Mit den Tasten und nacheinander die vier Stellen des Kennwortes einstellen und jeweils mit Taste besttigen.

Nach dem Besttigen der letzten Stelle wird das, dem Kennwort entsprechen-den, Men aktiviert.Ist das Kennwort falsch, erscheint eine entsprechende Anzeige.

Hinweise anzeigen Anzeige von vorliegenden Hinweisen im Klartext.

Das Symbol wird angezeigt, wenn ein Hinweis vorliegt.

Nacheinander Info \ Instrument Info \ Hinweise anzeigen aus-whlen und jeweils durch Drcken der Taste aufrufen.

Vorliegende Hinweise werden im Klartext angezeigt.Liegen mehrere Hinweise vor, wird das durch eine Anzeige in der rechten, oberen Ecke dargestell, z. B. 1/3 = Screen 1 von 3).

Fehler anzeigen Anzeige von vorliegenden Fehlern im Klartext.

The sub-menu Instrument Info provides all necessary functions for interrogating the status of the instrument.

Show Notice This function displays any existing notices in clear text.

If a notice exists, the icon is displayed.

Select the menu items Info \ Instrument Info \ Show Notice in this order, pressing the key after each selection.

Any existing notices are displayed in clear text. If more than one notice exists, the number of the currently displayed notice and the total number of notices are displayed in the top right corner (example: 1/3 = screen 1 of 3).

Show Fault This function displays any existing faults in clear text.

If a fault exists, the icon is displayed.

Select the menu items Info \ Instrument Info \ Show Faults in this order, pressing the key after each selection.

Frischluft-Kalibrierung

Zur Verbesserung der Nullpunkt-Genauigkeit kann eine Frischluft-Kalibrierung durchgefhrt werden.

Gert an Frischluft kalibrieren, frei von Messgasen oder anderen Strgasen nicht in Raumluft (Werstatt, Bro usw.), hier kann z.B. der CO2-Gehalt hher sein.

An der Frischluft-Kalibrierung nehmen alle Sensoren teil, die kali-brierbar sind keine Warnungsanzeige im Display. Nicht eingelaufende oder fehlerhafte Sensoren werden bersprungen.

Bei der Frischluft-Kalibrierung wird der Nullpunkt aller Sensoren (mit Ausnahme des Sensors fr Sauerstoff und CO2) auf 0 ge-setzt.Bei dem Sensor fr Sauerstoff wird die Anzeige auf 20,9 Vol.-% O2 gesetzt.

Fresh air calibration

Calibration in fresh air can be carried out in order to improve the zero-point accuracy of the instrument.

Calibrate the instrument in fresh air which is free of the gases to be measures and gases which could interfere with the calibration. Do not calibrate the instrument indoors (in a workshop, office, etc.), since the CO2 level may be higher there.

All sensors which can be calibrated no warning icon in the display participate in the fresh-air calibration. Faulty sensors and sensors which have not yet warmed up are skipped.

Fresh-air calibration adjusts the zero-points of all sensors (except the sensors for oxygen and CO2) to 0.For the O2-sensor, the display is set to 20.9 Vol.-% O2.

In menu mode: Select Calibration and press the key.

Calibrating and adjusting sensors

For most of the sensors, the zero-point is calibrated first and the sensitivity is then adjusted. This is reflected in the sequence of menu screens.

For the CAT-Ex sensor 100 Vol.-% only: Calibrate the zero-point, then the sensitivity for thermal tone (LEL)

and finally the sensitivity for thermal conduction (TC).

For the CAT-Ex sensor 100% UEG only: Calibrate the zero-point and then the sensitivity for thermal

conduction (TC).

Procedure (using the CAT-Ex sensors 100 Vol.-% as an example)

Select Calibration and press the key. Select CACH4 and press the key.

Die Kalibrierung des CAT-Ex-Sensors ist abgeschlossen.

Fr den PID-Sensor kann sowohl eine Empndlichkeitskalibrierung mit dem ausgewhlten Messgas als auch eine Ersatzkalibrierung mit Isobuten durchgefhrt werden. Bei einer Isobuten-Kalibrierung wer-den alle im Datenspeicher bendlichen Gase mitkalibriert. Bei einer Kalibrierung mit dem ausgewhlten Messgas wird nur das betref-fende Gas kalibriert.Wird bei der Kalibrierung des PID-Sensors eine Empndlichkeit unterhalb der Warnschwelle gemessen, gibt das Gert eine Warn-meldung aus. Abhilfe kann dann durch Reinigen der Lampe des PID-Sensors geleistet werden. Tritt trotz wiederholter Reinigung keine Verbesserung der Empndlichkeit ein, ist die Lampe auszutauschen (Anleitung zur Lampenreinigung und wechsel: siehe Sensor-Daten-blatt).

When the displayed measured value has settled: Select Adjust and press the key.

The message Remove gas! is displayed. Turn off the flow of calibration gas through the sensor. Select Next and press the key.

Calibration of the CAT-Ex sensor is now complete.

The PID sensor can undergo a sensitivity calibration with the selected measured gas or a cross-calibration with isobutene. In the case of an isobutene calibration, all gases that are entered in the data base are also included in the calibration. In the case of a calibration with the selected measured gas, only the gas in question is calibrated.If, during the calibration of the PID sensor, a sensitivity is measured that falls short of the warning setpoint, the device outputs a warning message. This can be rectied by cleaning the lamp of the PID sensor. If the sensitivity does not improve although the lamp has been cleaned repeatedly, it must be replaced (instructions for lamp cleaning procedure and replacement: see sensor data sheet).

For the IR, EC and PID sensors, calibration of the sensitivity is executed in a single step. The calibration gas, calibration-gas concentration and the unit are set in the same manner as for the CAT sensor.

Untermen Instrument

In dem Untermen Instrument knnen verschiedene Gerteein-stellungen vorgenommen werden.

Lecksuche ModusVoraussetzung:Es muss einen PID-Sensor oder einen auf CH4 eingestellten CAT-Ex-Sensor geben. Wenn die Messwertanzeige durch eine grafische Darstellung der

Messwerte eines Sensors ersetzt werden soll. Nacheinander Einstellungen \ Instrument \ Lecksuche Modus

auswhlen und jeweils durch Drcken der Taste aufrufen.

Gewnschten Sensor auswhlen und mit Taste aktivieren ( ).

Wenn fr einen Sensor der Zustand an aktiviert ist, wird im Messbetrieb jetzt statt der Messwerte aller aktiven Sensoren eine grafische Darstellung der Messwerte des ausgewhlten Sensors angezeigt.

Durch erneutes Auswhlen des Sensors und Drcken der Taste wird der Sensor deaktiviert und die Lecksuche beendet.

Tracking Modus Wenn zu dem Leckage Modus zustzlich ein Tracksound (hnlich

Geigerzhler) zugeschaltet werden soll.

Nacheinander Einstellungen \ Instrument \ Tracking-Modus auswhlen und jeweils durch Drcken der Taste aufrufen.

Gewnschten Zustand an oder aus whlen und mit Taste aktivieren.

Various instrument settings can be made in the sub-menu Instrument .

Leakage modePrerequisite:A PID sensor or a CAT-Ex sensor which is set to CH4 must be available. This function is used to select a graphical display of the values

measured by one sensor instead of the numerical display of the values measured by all active sensors.

Select the menu items Settings \ Instrument \ Leakage mode in this order, pressing the key after each selection.

Select the desired sensor and press the key to activate it ( ).

When the state Enable is active for a sensor, a graphical display of the values measured by the selected sensor appears in measuring mode instead of the numerical display of the values measured by all active sensors.

If the sensor is selected again and the key pressed, the sensor is deactivated and the leakage mode is exited.

Tracking mode This function is used to activate a track sound (similar to that of a

Geiger counter).

Select the menu items Settings \ Instrument \ Tracking mode in this order, pressing the key after each selection.

Select the desired state Enable or Disable and press the key to activate it.

A track sound is generated in tracking mode only if leakage mode is also active.

Mit steigenden Messwerten werden die Tonimpulse des Tracksounds dichter gesetzt, bis zum Dauerton bei Erreichen des Messbereichsendwertes. Der Messbereich wird automatisch von z. B. 0 bis 1000 ppm auf 1000 bis 2000 ppm umgeschaltet, um eine hohe Auflsung zu gewhrleisten.

Tritt whrend des Messbetriebs auf einem der aktiven Messkanle ein Gasalarm auf, wird der Leckage Mode automatisch beendet.

As the measured value increases, the track-sound pulses are generated at shorter and shorter intervals, becoming a continuous sound at the full-scale value of the measuring range. The measuring range is automatically changed from, for example, 0 to 1000 ppm to a range of 1000 to 2000 ppm in order to provide a higher resolution.

If a gas alarm is generated by any of the active measuring channels while measurements are being made, the leakage mode is automatically terminated.

Date and time This function is used to set the date and time.

Select the menu items Settings \ Instrument \ Date and Time in this order, pressing the key after each selection.

Select the desired line (Date or Time) and press the key to switch to edit mode.

Gewnschte Funktion mit Taste aktivieren auf der rech-ten Seite des Displays erscheint ein Symbol, entsprechend der gewhlten Funktion. Auswahl:

Spitzenwert die grten Messwerte (bei O2 der klein-ste) werden angezeigt

Halten die vorliegenden Messwerte werden in der Anzeige gehalten

Stiller Alarm der akustische Alarm ist deaktiviert.Der akustische Alarm wird beim Aus-schalten des Gertes automatisch wieder aktiviert. Die Belegung der Funktionsta-ste bleibt aber erhalten.

Function key This function is used to dene the function which is to be executed

when the function key is pressed (when the key is pressed briefly).

Use the key to activate the desired function. The corresponding icon then appears on the right side of the display. The following functions are available for selection:

Peak value The maximum measured values (the minimum value for O2) are displayed.

Hold The currently displayed measured values are held in the display.

Silent alarm The audible alarm is deactivated.The audible alarm is automatically reactivated when the instrument is switched off, but the function-key assignment remains unchanged.

Im Messbetrieb wir nun durch ein kurzes Drcken der Taste die gewhlte Funktion aktiviert bzw. die Konfiguration umge-schaltet. Diese Funktion ist bei aktiviertem Applikations Mode nicht erreichbar.

Wenn der Zustand an aktiviert ist, ist der akustische Alarm ausge-schaltet gekennzeichnet durch das Symbol auf der rechten Seite des Displays. Der akustische Alarm wird beim Ausschalten des Gertes automa-

tisch wieder aktiviert. Die Belegung der Funktionstaste bleibt aber.

Betriebssignal Wenn das Betriebssignal ein- oder ausgeschaltet werden soll.

Bei Auslieferung ist das betriebssignal aktiviert, welches die unge-strte Gertefunktion anzeigt. Das aktivierte Betriebssignal ist fr den sicheren Einsatz als Gaswarngert erforderlich.

Silent alarm This function is used to switch the of audible alarm. Select the menu items Settings \ Instrument \ Silent alarm in

this order, pressing the key after each selection.


When the state Enable is active, the audible alarm is switched off. This is indicated by the icon on the right side of the display. The audible alarm is automatically reactivated when the instrument

is switched off, but the function-key assignment remains unchanged.

Life signal This function is used to switch the life signal on or off. The lie

signal, which indicates that the instrument is operating correctly, is activated when the instrument leaves the factory and is required for reliable use of the instrument as a gas-warning device.

Select the menu items Settings \ Instrument \ Life signal in this order, pressing the key after each selection.


If the state Enable is active, optical and audible signals are generated every 30 seconds in measuring mode.

stellungen zurckgesetzt werden sollen. Die Daten der Sensoren bleiben erhalten.

Die Grundinitialisierung Gert hat keinen Einfluss auf die Einstel-lung der Messkanle.

Besttige auswhlen und Taste drcken die Grundin-itialisierung wird durchgefhrt.

Mess-Stelle Wenn eine Messstelle bzw. einem Messabschnitt im Tagesprofil-

speicher durch ein 12-stelliges Kennzeichen markiert werden soll.

Initialise device This function can be used to reset all parameters of the instrument

to the default factory settings. The sensor data remain unchanged. Initialising the device does not affect the settings for the

measuring channels.

Select the menu items Settings \ Instrument \ Init. Device in this order, pressing the key after each selection.

Select Confirm and press the key to reset the instrument to the factory settings.

Session ID This function is used to mark a measuring point or a measuring

period n the daily profile memory with a 12-character session identifier.

Select the menu items Settings \ Instrument \ Session ID in this order, pressing the key after each selection.

Select the line for the input of the session ID and press the key to switch to edit mode.

Set each position of the ID to the desired value with the and keys and confirm each position by pressing the key.

When you have entered the entire session ID, press the key to confirm your input.

The entered session ID is now stored once in the data logger.

Wenn der Zustand an bei A2 aktiviert ist, lt sich das Gert nur bei einem A2-Alarm nicht ausschalten.

Wenn der Zustand an aktiviert ist, lt sich das Gert in keinem Fall ausschalten.

Switch off lock This function can be used to prevent the instrument from being

switched off. Select the menu items Settings \ Instrument \ Switch off lock

in this order, pressing the key after each selection. Select the desired state Disable , Enable for A2 or

Enable and press the key to activate it.

If the state Disable is active, the instrument can be switched off. If the state Enable for A2 is active, the instrument can be

switched off unless an A2 alarm is active. If the state Enable is active, the instrument can never be

switched off.

Telemetrie Wenn das Gert auf den Telemetrie-Modus (Kommunikation mit

externen Gerten, z. B. Funkmodul) umgeschaltet werden soll.

betrieb aktiviert oder deaktiviert werden soll (nur fr Gerte mit eingebauter Pumpe).
