Auf nach Südafrika
Macht ein Praktikum in Johannesburg, der lebendigsten, bunten und vielfältigsten Stadt Südafrikas.
Bei der gemeinnützigen Organisation „Children of Fire“ wird Eure Hilfe gebraucht. Hier könnt Ihr Euch sinnvoll einbringen und mit geringem Aufwand Kindern ein Lachen schenken.
Your Job
Volunteers will, • accompany children on hospital appointments • coordinate treatment plans for the children between various disciplines of
medicine • work on one of the many medical, legal or media research projects • assist with one on one tutoring for the most in need of the children • assist with administrative work in the office • assist with outreach programs to local informal settlements e.g. reading
scheme at Joe Slovo squatter cam • assist with disaster relief when necessary • help Dorah with her exercises and make sure she is mentally and physically
stimulated everyday • assist with safety awareness campaigns
Details
Volunteers are expected to work Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm. The
nature of our work means they might have early morning hospital trips, e.g.
6.30am and when fires occur, no one can predict what time, volunteers and
staff will work to provide disaster relief. The reading scheme in Joe Slovo
squatter camp runs on a Sunday morning from 9am to 11.30am and volunteers
are encouraged to participate as it gives them a true sense of how many South
African really live.
