Chad: I mentioned we do exhaustive testing and documentation of our Optimized Solutions, and measure the results of our tuning so we know we are getting the absolute most of the deployments. Remember, our customers have told us three challenges they have when deploying an app server. ► From a scaling point, both Oracle and IBM have published SPECnEnterprise2010 results on their respective app servers running on their systems. So we know that Oracle WebLogic server running on T4 outperforms IBM WebSphere on POWER 780 by 20% more per processor socket. ► But where it really gets interesting is when you compare the price/performance of those exact configurations. For customers looking to squeeze cost out of their app server deployment, the Oracle Optimized Solution for WebLogic Server had nearly a 7X better price/performance ratio. ► And since security and compliance is important to most organizations, the on-chip encryption capabilities of the T4 beats POWER7 hands-down for both single-thread and socket performance. Carl: But what about handling the complexity of all this? Message size of 8192 bytes. Results are reported for a single thread and for running on all available hardware threads (no over subscribing) measured in MB/sec. SPARC T4, 2.85GHz single thread 769, socket performance 11,967, 64 threads. Intel Xeon X5690, 3.46 GHzsingle thread 660, socket performance 7,362 ,12 threads. IBM POWER7 @ 3.5 GHz,, single thread 179, socket performance 2,860 (estimated at 16 threads since no on-chip encryption available, considered upper limit possible.) This benchmark result delivers 2.4 times more performance than IBM, shattering their best result achieved on POWER7 servers running IBM WebSphere and DB2 database (see table), showcasing the outstanding performance and scalability of the entire Oracle stack, from web server software to storage hardware. Compared to IBM’s best result, this world record also demonstrates the outstanding performance of the new SPARC T4 processor, which delivers 20 percent more work per socket than POWER7 across the configuration (see footnote). EBS系统现状分析 主机架构 目前的主机架构来看,单机的性能不错。从TPC的TPMC的测试值可以看出横向扩展时性能一般(3台P7-780测试值只有1千万,T5-8单机855万)。

存储架构 存储架构采用传统的SAN架构,应用系统使用了NAS。存储为高端产品,加上使用

SSD,存储性能很好(SPC-1 IOPS达到20万)。由于是传统存储架构,其没有智能存储能力。因此不能过滤不必要的IO操作,也不能处理业务分担主机压力。

• EBS应用 – EBS采用了高可用的配置方式,包括8个应用多节点、数据库3个RAC节点及PCP

– 采用了应用分区的配置方式,一定程度提高了系统,尤其是数据库的运行效率

– 主要的数据来源是多个外围系统的集成,其对数据吞吐量的要求较高

– 并发用户相对较小,响应速度快
