CAEN Status (1)• Cabling

– Installation is complete.– Load testing and certification is complete (0%

failures).• A1676a controllers at S4F01 (4 ordered, 1

borrowed)– 3 have been delivered

• 1 is installed at P5 and is in use (2 needed)• 1 is at PSI• 1 is at TIF. One of these will be installed at P5 when the

detectors move to P5. – 1 borrowed from CAEN is being used for A4603 burn-

in at TIF.– 1 spare has been ordered and should arrive in

June/July.

CAEN Status (2)

• MAO (48V crate power supplies) at X2F36 and X2F37 (8 ordered)– 2 borrowed supplies are installed, one on each rack.– 6 are on order with delivery expected in April. They will

be needed in early May.– Burn in: Guido has promised to take care of this.– 2 spares should be delivered in July.

• Crates (15 ordered)– 11 have been delivered (10 needed)

Certification and Burn-in Needs

• TIF– We have 4 load boxes and can certify and burn-in

8 modules per week at TIF. The tests are not quite as thorough as what is done at Prevessin.

– Certification of RMS noise OV, UV, OC trips etc is done but other tests are not performed.

– CAEN has indicated that we will have 10 more modules to “certify” and “burn-in” this week.

• We should recertify and burn-in all A4603 modules at Prevessin if this is possible.

Overall CAEN Status

• We have sufficient power supplies ready to commission ½ of either the Barrel or Forward Pixel detectors right now if we use both racks.

• In ~2 weeks that fraction will double but we will need additional MAOs to take full advantage of this. Ideally, we would want all 6 MAOs in place 2 weeks before the barrel insertion on May 26.

• That is sufficient to commission our detectors during installation although it is not optimal as it requires moving the A4603 cables. Simultaneous running of both detectors relies entirely on the CAEN 4603 and MAO delivery schedule.
