STIPENDIEN-PROGRAMME DER ÖAWBEWILLIGUNGEN 2016/2017

In den Jahren 2016 und 2017 wurden 128 junge Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissen-schaftler mit einem Stipendium der Österreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften und der Max Kade Foundation in New York ausgezeichnet. Mehr als die Hälfte von ihnen (53 Prozent) sind Frauen.

Mit den Nachwuchsförderprogrammen DOC, DOC-team und MAX KADE werden Forschungsvorhaben aus dem Bereich der Naturwissenschaften, der Life Sciences und Medizin, sowie den Geistes-, Sozial- und Kulturwissenschaften finanziell unter-stützt. Insgesamt 94 Nachwuchswissenschaftler/innen wurden in das Doktoranden-programm DOC aufgenommen, 23 DOC-team-Stipendien wurden an Doktorand/inn/en verliehen, die an interdisziplinären Projekten im geistes-, sozial-und kultur-wissenschaftlichen Bereich arbeiten. Mit einem MAX KADE-Stipendium können zu-dem acht Post-Docs in den USA forschen.

Zusätzlich konnten in diesem Jahr aufgrund einer Spende drei Doktorandenstipen-dien im Bereich der Medizinischen Wissenschaften vergeben werden. Mit diesen DOCmed-Stipendien werden Studierende gefördert, die ein PhD-Studium in den klinischen bzw. medizinisch angewandten Disziplinen mit dem Ziel einer Laufbahn als „MD Scientist“ absolvieren, z.B. mit der Möglichkeit, Facharztausbildung und PhD-Studium zu kombinieren.
