An einem der schönsten Aussichtspunkte der gesamten Ötztaler Alpen steht in 2.175 m Seehöhe der TOP MOUNTAIN CROSSPOINT. Ein beeindruckendes Monument alpiner Architektur, das auf über 6.000 m2 Nutzfläche den Eingang für das Tor zum Süden – die Timmelsjoch Hochalpenstraße, ein erstklassiges Restaurant mit herrlicher Panoramaterrasse, Europas höchstes Motorradmuseum und die Talstation einer hochmodernen Seilbahn in sich vereint.

DAS TOR ZUM SÜDEN. Die „heimliche Lücke in den Alpen“ führt über das 2.509 m hohe Tim-melsjoch nach Südtirol und weiter zum Gardasee. Abseits jeglicher Hektik ist die Timmelsjoch Hochalpenstraße die einmalige Reiseroute in den Süden. Neben dem atemberaubenden Fahr- und Naturerlebnis sorgen fünf bizarre Infopoints für eine Erfahrung, die ihresgleichen sucht.

EUROPAS HÖCHSTES MOTORRAD MUSEUM. Wo, wenn nicht hier? Die Muse-umsarchitektur ist an sich schon bemerkenswert. Kombiniert mit den ausgestellten Exponaten muss man es einfach gesehen haben, auch wenn man selbst kein Motorradfahrer ist. Auf 3.000 m2

werden rund 230 klassische Motorräder von über 100 Herstellern sowie einige automobile Raritäten präsentiert.

KULINARISCHES GIPFELTREFFEN VON NORD UND SÜD. Viel Holz und etwas Stahl, garniert mit dem Blick auf die Ötztaler Alpen. Dazu servieren die Gastgeber ehrliche, authen-tische Gerichte aus Österreich und Italien sowie Schmankerln und saisonale Spezialitäten aus Nord- und Südtirol. Ob Frühstück, kleine Jause, Tiroler Marend, Pizza oder ausgiebige Mahlzeit – immer liebevoll mit den besten Produkten aus der Region zubereitet.

NEUER EDELSTEIN IM DIAMANT DER ALPEN. Schneeköniginnen und -könige freut euch! Die Kirchenkarbahn erschließt einen der schönsten Hänge im Schigebiet Obergurgl-Hoch-gurgl nunmehr auf komfortabelste Weise. Dabei ist die 10er-Kabinenbahn die modernste weltweit. Die Fortführung bis unterhalb des 3.000 m hohen Kirchenkars ist bereits in Planung.

Un monumento impressionante di architettura alpina, che su più di 6.000 m2 di superficie unisce l’entrata della porta per il sud - la strada alpina del Passo del Rombo, un ristorante di prima classe con una magnifica terrazza panoramica, il più elevato museo di motocicli in Europa e la stazione a valle di una modernissima funivia.

LA PORTA PER IL SUD. Il „passaggio segreto delle Alpi“ porta attraverso il Passo del Rombo (2.509 m) in Alto Adige e in seguito al Lago di Garda. Lontano dalla frenesia, la strada alpina del Passo del Rombo è un itinerario per il sud unico nel suo genere. La strada offre un’esperienza di guida e di natura mozzafiato, inoltre cinque infopoint bizzarri garantiscono un’avventura imparagonabile.

IL PIÙ ELEVATO MUSEO DI MOTOCICLI IN EUROPA. Dove, se non qui? Già l’architettura del museo è notevole. In combinazione con i pezzi d’esposizione si deve assoluta-mente averlo visitato, anche se non si è motociclista. Su 3.000 m2 sono presentati circa 200 moto classiche di circa 100 produttori come anche alcune rarità automobilistiche.

GATEWAY TO THE SOUTH. The “secret gap in the Alps” takes you via Timmelsjoch at 2,509 m to the South Tyrol and further on to Lake Garda. Far from any kind of hectic rush, the “Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road” represents a unique travel route to the south. In addition to the breath-taking experience in terms of driving and nature alike, five bizarre info points will ensure unforgettable memories.

CULINARY NORTH-SOUTH SUMMIT. A preference for wood flavoured with a pinch of steel, decorated with the view of the Oetz Valley Alps and served with genuine, authentic Austrian and Italian dishes. On top of that, the hosts serve culinary delights and seasonal specialities from both, the North and the South Tyrol. No matter if you order just a small snack, or enjoy a Tyrolean “Marend” (regional afternoon snack of cold meals), pizza or a full meal – at all times, the dishes are lovingly prepared by using the best regional products.

THE HIGHEST LOCATED MOTORCYCLE MUSEUM IN EUROPE. Where else if not here? The architecture of the museum is already very remarkable, however due to the combination with the exhibits it is something you simply must have seen - even if you are not a motor cyclist. On 3,000 m2, about 200 classic motor cycles from approximately 100 manufacturers are presented together with some automobile rarities.

THE DIAMOND OF THE ALPS HAS A NEW FACET. Snow queens and kings will be filled with joy! The operators of the Kirchenkar cable car facilities skiers to conveniently access the most beautiful ski run in the Obergurgl-Hoch-gurgl ski area. The 10-passenger gondola cable car is the most modern one in the world. It is already planned to extend the cable car with the top station being established below the “Kirchenkar” (3,000 m).

Die Mauttarife verstehen sich für die österreichische UND italienische Seite der Timmelsjoch Hochalpenstraße. Die Rückfahrt ist innerhalb der ganzen Saison gültig und muss nicht am selben Tag erfolgen.

HINWEIS: Nach den derzeit geltenden italie-nischen Bestimmungen sind für den Verkehr auf dem italienischen Straßenteil nur PKW und Motorräder zugelassen. Wohnmobile, Kleinbusse und LKW sind bis max. 8 t Gesamtgewicht, max. 2,55 m Breite und max. 4 m Höhe erlaubt. Verboten sind alle Autobusse und LKW über 8 t Gesamtgewicht sowie Anhänger über 4,5 m Länge; die Gesamtlänge von Zugfahrzeug und Anhänger darf 10 m nicht überschreiten.

PEDAGGIO-TARIFFELa strada panoramica alpina del Passo del Rombo è aperta da fine maggio circa a fine ottobre, tutti i giorni dalle ore 7 alle 20. Le tariffe del pedaggio comprendono sia il tratto italiano che quello austriaco del Passo del Rombo. Il ritorno è valido entro la stagione in corso e non deve, quindi, essere effettuato nello stesso giorno del viaggio di andata.

NOTE: In base alle disposizioni italiane attualmente in vigore, il tratto italiano della strada alpina del Passo del Rombo è aperto soltanto al transito di autovetture e motocicli. Sono autorizzati a transitare autocaravan, minibus, e mezzi pesanti di massa complessiva inferiore a 8 tonnellate, larghezza mas-sima di 2,55 metri e altezza massima di 4 metri. È vietato il transito a tutti gli autobus e mezzi pesanti di massa complessiva superiore alle 8 tonnellate e a rimorchi di lunghezza superiore a 4,5 metri.

TOLL PRICESThe Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road is open daily from 7 am to 8 pm from approximately the end of May until the end of October. The toll prices include use of the Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road on both the Austrian AND the Italian side. The return journey ticket is valid for the entire season – it does not have to be used on the same day.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: In accordance with the current Italian regulations, only cars and motorcycles are permitted to travel on the Italian side of the pass road. Mobile homes, small buses and lorries with a max. gross weight of 8 tons, max. width of 2.55 m and max. height 4 m are also permitted. Buses and lorries weighing over 8 tons, as well as trailers with a length over 4.5 m.

Un ponticello permette di ammirare nuove prospettive e fornisce informazioni sul tesoro naturale del bosco di cembri di Obergurgl, la storia dei ghiacciai, veri architetti del paesaggio, le tracce dell’ insediamento umano, ecc.

WALKWAY: An unrivalled panorama opens up at the site of the tollbooth in Hochgurgl offering stunning views across the nature park of the Ötztal valley and its awe-inspiring proliferation of 3,000-metre peaks. An innovative walkway, offering a totally new and utterly breathtaking perspective, provides in-depth information about the Obergurgler Zirbenwald Swiss pine forest (a natural monument), the architectural role played by glaciers, the settlement history and lots more besides.

PASSMUSEUMWie ein Findling ragt das Passmuseum von Tiroler auf Südtiroler Seite hinaus und unter-streicht den grenzüberschreitenden Charakter der Timmelsjoch Erfahrung. Die „Eishöhle“ im Inneren zollt den Pionieren der Hochalpenstraße und ihrer bemerkenswerten Leistung Tribut. MUSEO DEL PASSO: Come un masso erratico, il Museo del Passo sporge dal versante tirolese a quello altoatesino, sottolineando il carattere transfrontaliero dell’ emozione del Passo del Rombo. La “grotta di ghiaccio” allestita all’ interno è un tributo ai pionieri di questa strada alpina e alla loro meritevole opera. PASS MUSEUM: The new Pass Museum on the North Tyrolean side juts out like an erratic boulder into the South Tyrolean side, underlining the cross-border nature of the Timmelsjoch Experience. The “Ice Cave” inside the museum pays tribute to the pioneers of the High Alpine Road and their remarkable accomplishment. TELESCOPIO: La spaziosa area sottostante la cima Scheib-kopf offre uno splendido panorama con il parco naturale del gruppo del Tessa. Un telescopio consente di mettere a fuoco lo sguardo sul Monte dei Granati (3.304 m) e sul Monte Principe (3.403 m), che si ergono maestosi dai ghiacciai perenni. Venite a conoscere le caratteristiche geologiche dell’ Alta Val Passiria, le formazioni rocciose e la capra della Passiria.

TELESCOPE: The spacious area beneath the Scheibkopf mountain offers a wonderful panoramic view of the Texel mountain range nature reserve. A telescope focuses the viewer’s attention on the Granatkogel (3,304 m) and the Hohe First (3,403 m) which stand out prominently from the eternal glacial ice. Discover all about the geology of the far end of the Passeiertal valley, the rocks and the Passeirer mountain goat.

GRANATAuf dem Felshang bei Stuls eröffnet sich ein spektakulärer Ausblick auf Moos und das hintere Passeiertal. Zwei Granaten – den geologischen Gesteinsformationen des Passeiers nachempfun-den – dienen als Schauraum und Aussichtsplatt-form. GRANATI: Sulla parete rocciosa nei pressi di Stulles, si apre una vista spettacolare su Moso e sull’ Alta Val Passiria. Due granati – strutture architettoniche che si ispirano alle formazioni geologiche tipiche della Val Passiria – fungono rispettivamente da spazio espositivo e piattaforma d’ osservazione. GARNETS: Standing on the rocky hillside near Stuls, a stunning view down to the village of Moos and across the far end of the Passeiertal valley opens up before you. Two garnets, modelled on the geological rock formations found in the Passeiertal valley, serve as an exhibition room and a viewing platform. CONTRABBANDIERE: Là dove l’ antico sentiero che collegava Zwieselstein a Moso in Passiria incrocia la strada, sorge una struttura cubica che è possibile visitare. Al suo interno si viene trasportati nell’ avventuroso mondo dei contrabbandieri del Passo del Rombo. Venite a conoscere la tradizione secolare dei contrabbandieri, le paure e i timori delle incombenti montagne, le geste dei temerari portatori di gerle, ecc.

SMUGGLERS: Here, at the spot where the Timmelsjoch road crosses the ancient trail that leads from Zwieselstein to Moos in Passeier stands the walk-in cube. It transports you to a world of a venture, the world of the smugglers and their ancient route over the Timmelsjoch.
