Uber einige von H. Leveille beschriebene chinesische Liliaceen.

In den ,,Notes from the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh" Vol. XVI p. 146-147 nimmt H. K. AIRY-SHAW eine Revision der von H. LIVEILLU aus Ostasien beschriebenen Allium-Arten vor, die sich fast samtlich mit iilteren Spezies identisch erwiesen. Eine Durch- sicht versehiedener Liliaceengattungen des Herbariums Edinburgh, fuir deren Uberlassung ich dem Leiter desselben, Herrn Prof. W. W. SMITH, ZU groBem Danke verpflichtet bin, ergab, dab auch hier eine ganze Anzahl der von LEVEILLE aufgestellten chinesischen Arten nicht beibehalten werden konnen, sondern als synonym zu anderen gezogen werden miussen. Es sind dies vor allem folgende Spezies: Tofieidia Esquirolii Levl., Nouv. Contrib. Liliac. etc. de Chine, in

sonders charakteristisch sein sollen, sind an der Spitze entweder abgebissen oder auf andere Weise abgetrennt, kommen also als Artmerkmal gar nicht in Frage; uberdies finden sich neben ihnen auch noch einige normale, lang zugespitzte, von LUVEILLU anschei- nend iubersehene Blatter, die vollig mit dem Typus von T. divergens uibereinstimmen. breitete Iphigenia indica auch in Westchina vorkommt, und sie des- halb iuberhaupt nicht berucksichtigt, denn die von ihm beschriebene Pflanze stimmt so vollkommen mit I indica iiberein, daf sein Irrtum schwer erklirlich erscheint.
